No kidding! I mean, what the heck are they doing to that popcorn? My six cups of popcorn (still oil popped, not air) is only 120-130 calories! Even if I multiply that by the serving size it still doesn't add up (400/460 vs 1120). I'm not even sure how you can physically get that many calories into it using real food... even if I don't use my high quality oil and pour in all the bag recommends I STILL don't add up to more then 650calories.... they're almost DOUBLE that.
I just watched a good documentary on Netflix called hungry for change you should check out. It's scary how many additives are in foods you believe should be healthy... And sad that we have to put up with these food corporations poisoning us.
I just had a moment of OMG and had to share with my fellow Sparkers.
Ladies, when was the last time you took the munchkins to the movies? Well last night that's where we went, we got to see a premiere of the movie 42. And what a great time we had! It was a wonderful movie, with a message to discuss later and a heart warming ending. Yes it may need a bit of "pre talk" regarding some of the language (lots of racial slurs obviously). But really great. I just hopped on to post my snack and was feeling very smug thinking about how good I was, not eating candy, having a reasonable serving of pop corn, and choosing to drink a calorie free drink. After all, I saved calories just for this right?
I couldn't have been more wrong... theater popcorn is not like my homemade stuff... not even close!
But I won't ask you to trust me, after seeing some numbers online I did some reading and found an article that does it for me... so go on, read about how bad this stuff is. And then let me know if you were duped like I was. :S
