Thought I'd step up and try to get us motivated for the summer heat so I've created a new challenge for us for June & July - go check it out and don't leave me alone this summer! I need some motivation and friends to commiserate with!
Nice to have you back, a personal coach is a great investment, and can often help keep you working long past the point where you would have quit. I'd love to have one, but live in a city where they are REALLY expensive (and snooty) I suppose I could look harder but I thankfully work with a group of people that serve that purpose well so I'll save my pennies for after our big move in a few months! :)
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you (I'm still new at this administrator thing). I hope you'll come and check out our Feel Fab challenge, just look for the top post under our challenges! We're always excited to have a new friend to motivate and insprie us!
Come back more often and keep us updated on your progress!

What a great job MaryOh! I know exactly how hard getting going on excercise can be! Just this week I bailed on a swim because of my emotions but the important part is you feel better once you start moving. We have a comercial on TV here that says "a body in motion tends to stay in motion." now they may be talking about arthritis but I feel that the same message applies to us here... If one of us can stay in motion it makes it easier for the rest. We'd love for you to join us on the challenge page as well to keep us all motivated by your success!

HEY! Glad to see some activity - been feeling a little lonesome over here and hadn't checked in in a week or so and wow now there's a new topic! Been active all winter. Sometimes dragging myself out the door - but I guess nobody ever said I had to be enthusiastic about starting my exercising. At least I usually feel better about it once I get going.
Way to go ALLICAT! Sorry to hear it wasn't a "real" snow day. Where I'm from we don't get one unless there's a few feet, and even where I am now, we only got one when they were predicting 40cm's +. Still, WAY TO ROCK THE STAIRS AND ABS! I too need mucho encouragement so I'm sending you some lovin for your hard work yesterday.
I had a major pity fest yesterday over finances and my Birthday so I skipped the pool and went home to mope. Happily I warned Yimmy that I was in a sour mood and he worked with me to avoid binging. Side note: I suffer from some major emotional eating problems and will often bing when depressed... Just starting to get it under control this year. I'm not a purger, but it's a serious problem in my weight loss journey. Instead we made a healthy Pizza (so I felt like I was being treated) and a dessert of mixed berries which kept me under my daily goal. Maybe only a 116 calorie deficit that day but I felt better, he lifted my spirits and being in control of my eating and emotions really made me feel better. AND because of that I'm working extra hard today. I did my spin class, and I will swim tonight as well. (my foots being taped tomorrow so I want to do it before I have to spend a few days out of the H2O) Hope you have a great day with your Ab workout... and remember, this crazy canuck is cheering for you!

We barely had an inch of snow and it rained all day, but I did my abs and stairs!
This morning I got out of bed and did my 50 squats and I plan on doing my 6 minute abs again. I'm starting small and giving myself huge compliments for every little bit I do because dammit, I know it's hard for me to get started and I'm proud for making myself do ANYTHING!
Wow lucky! lol I still love snow days. Since you got the howler monkeys at home, could you take them toboganing? If you have a big old hill all you really need is a sled or even a garbage bag... I sware hauling their butts up the hill over and over will give you the best workout EVER! :)

Hey ALICAT, I too didn't end up doing my abs. My hubby had to stay five hours late at work and by the time I got the groceries, made dinner and cleaned up from the painters (they're back today as well!) it was already 8:30. When he got in the door I just wanted to see him so we watched TV for an hour and hit the hay. Sleep... oh beautiful sleep! Oh well, all the extra walking around and then the hauling three big bags of groceries three stops on the subway then to the apartment was likely about the same burn as had I gone straight home and did the abs! lol Tonight I'm going swimming. I'm going to aim for 64 laps (1800m) in 45 minutes, it's a really short pool... but you use what you got. What's your goal for the day?

I never did my abs yesterday, but I'm trying to stay positive... I did go outside and run and play tag with my kids which is much better than sitting around watching netflix all day wallowing in self pity (my normal routine for the past couple months). So, I actually feel really good! I got a lot of random things done that have been sitting undone for a looong time.
I had a dream last night that apparently means I feel insecure and lost and am trying to recapture my self esteem. I know :P It's a long road and the exercise is just a small part of it. How are you doing?
LOL You're awesome! I'm totally still staying active with my bum foot... I can and do spin and swim. (Spin Tuesdays and Thursdays, Swim Monday's and Wednesdays and ocationally fridays) The big things I had to give up were my running, which was a major bummer cause it's my worst leg of triathalon training, and my weight lifting class.
This is cool though! I'm familiar with the 6 minute abs workout... I believe I can even find it on YouTube to follow along! I'll do it when I get home (people in the office may look at me like a lunitic if I did it on my afternoon break! hehehe
Today I've done a 63 minute all terain spin class, and I did the 11 minute chair cardio video on here, with the 6 minute abs thrown in I'll be at 80 minutes! Woot woot!

Well thank you! My inch on my waist is pure water retention from not drinking my H2O... it's really difficult for me to do in winter! What's your goal?
Foot schmoot, we're DOING THIS! ;) If you are cool with it, join in and do my workout with me. I say this week we work our abs... that won't require you to be on that poor bum foot of yours. We can also do chair kickboxing for cardio, which could be fun fun fun and hilarious to innocent bystanders. Since I don't know what your fitness level is, and in case others want to join in we can work to time instead of reps. Just stay motivated to get as many done as you can in ONE MINUTE!
TUESDAY (yes, today): leg lifts, V-sits, crunches, side crunches, scissor kicks, donkey kicks. Do you know what all of these are? I can clarify if needed. It's SIX MINUTE ABS hahaha.
Doing them all at once is ideal, but who cares! Do what you can today and be proud of everything you do, no matter how miniscule you may feel it is, it's more than nothing and that's something indeed :) You can rock this shiz!! I'm rooting for you too :D
Hey ALLIECAT! Love the name by the way! Let's rock this together I love your super ambious challenge to lose those three inches, from what I've read that inch off your waist could mean up to 5 lbs of weight loss! I'm rooting for you! Do you have a specific goal you would like to check in with? Daily? Weekly? I'm open to trying everything (once my foot heals) so i'd be happy to do it with you and keep ourselves motivated!

I miss this motivation too! I was thinking March would be my three inches month. It's the third month after all :) my goal is to lose an inch in each thigh and one round the tummy. How? Cardio and strength. I hope people come back. The rfml challenge helped me in so many ways because of all the amazing women involved.
No ones really been on the site lately and I'm feeling like I'm missing my Mommy friends love. I noticed we have lost our beloved team leader and hope that someone will take up the reins soon... if I get particularly ambitious I may try myself... but just FYI, I'm not that fabulous at comitment. Anyways... Maybe someone has an idea for a goal for this beautiful month of March? (It's my birthday this month so I particularly love March) If anyone has some idea's I'd love for them to leave them here. If we get some good ones I'll try to post a "Challenge" tread and have everyone sign in and update us on their progress! Just to get the ball rolling, how do you Super awesome women feel about something small like "do 10 minutes of cardio a day" or maybe a medium goal like "bust out a workout vid once a day" or maybe we have some Major Hard Core Mommies interested in starting a couch to 5k program? Give me your feed back! :) Missing you all dearly.
