YCA - I'm ready! I've missed everyone!

Manda - Where's your husband in this? He needs to lay down the law with the MIL. That behavior is NOT ok. If she's going to be a psycho, she doesn't get to be involved. The grandchild is not a right. It's a privilege that YOU control.

Well, its now after Christmas ... so many of us have been back and forth and gone again - and I'm the worst one of the bunch. Its time to get back on track hookers, are you ready?

Wish my hookers were still active, I could really use some advice. My MIL has gotten really mean to me. She used to just be annoying "Oh he doesn't look like you at all!" and generally refusing to acknowledge my existence, but it's gotten so bad now. My SIL's wedding was this weekend and she literally scooped him out of my arms and ran away from me. I kinda laughed it off but I didn't see him for a half hour and when I spotted him he was looking down in his shy baby thing that he does when he's trying to disengage. Then she kept telling me he doesn't like me or he hates me. She posted a bunch of pictures of him and refused to acknowledge when I said anything about him...

Its really wearing me out. I'm emotionally eating again. I had been blogging about her, I've started snapping at her but NOTHING works. I don't know what to do. I've never been so depressed.

I'm seriously considering whether or not I am a sugar (chocolate mostly) addict. I literally have considered talking with my brother about this because he just went through quitting smoking and I think this will be similar.

I am eating better - still hate the nutrition tracker so I'm not really on there, it's just too time consuming... but I am not binging (right now anyway). I am working out like a madwoman.

And. I. Am. GAINING WEIGHT. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s. my ticker below lies... but I don't want to update it and make it accurate. please don't make me. :(

I'm trying to cut my sugar back again. It creeps up "that time of the month" and if I'm not careful I never get it back. Back in october I cut my sugar back to 15gs a day and ended up losing 13lbs in 2 weeks. So since I just stopped watching what I'm eating but cut my portions I've gained it all back and learned a valuable lesson. Even in moderation I eat like crap. LOL I'm trying though. I want to lose the 70lbs that is making me in a really unhealthy weight. I think if I get a handle on this I can keep it up, I cut out soda, after all. Apparently I just replaced it with sugary baked goods and carbs though. Oh well. Come on hookers lets get this rolling again. I miss ya'll.

Hubbs and I decided we want to start this new thing we heard of called the 17 day diet. We want to start it after Christmas. Because there's SO MANY FARKING get-togethers and parties for the next few weeks. Man, oh man!
This weekend - well tonight we have our first one. Dec 2, we combine Thanksgiving and Christmas the weekend after Thanksgiving with hubby's mom's family. Her aunts and uncles and all their kids and grandkids. Her sisters and brother, their kids and grandkids. So tonight we're heading into Nashville to have a potluck with a very large family. The kids get their first present of the year. I bought them and now I think they suck, hope the kids don't agree. :)

MOTIVATION -so hard to find some days! I finally drug my rear out the door tonight for an 8pm Zumba class - the time change makes it feel like it's really late but I kept reminding myself that I always am glad I went and always have fun! (so many EXCUSES to stay home but glad I ignored them!)

Glad I have the spark team too - helps when I feel like I'm not going it alone! Come on and move with me ladies!

I'm distracted by so many things! I'm having trouble staying away from snacks - mindlessly stuffing my mouth. I did manage to restart my strength training so that helps. I'm counting water glasses today so there's much less room for food. But goodness, I don't feeling like I'm going to explode all day long!

New motivation: Thanksgiving day 5k with my dad and brother. I've got to work hard or the long-legged men will leave me in the dust.

I know, I know....

I did get rid of a big chunk of it by packing in the shoeboxes our church will send with the missionaries to kids on the Navajo Reservation. I also have a big bag packed up for next weekend. My boys are in a Christmas Parade and they need candy to throw. Perfect.

I am still in my vicious cycle of eating healthy Monday thru Thursday and then eating like crap over the weekend. I am having a hard time fitting in exercise again. I just can't get up earlier and my days and evening are packed full of kid activities. Sigh....

Done complaining for today....

Unfortuantely I'm the problem in our house, not the kids!!!! I pack a small piece or 2 in their lunches and they will have a few small pieces for snack at night. They don't go overboard. I am home alone with the candy all. day. long. It taunts me. I have done pretty well only having a few pieces each day (minus the weekend when you have thought I had the last Twix bars on the planet) but it takes every ounce of will power i have to not eat it all day long!!!

YCA - we have exactly the opposite approach at my house with the halloween candy - I tell them, "Eat all the candy you want it's yours!" When they're little they go crazy for about three days but after the first couple of years of knowing they get to do whatever they want with their candy my kids eat a little of it but mostly just play with it, sort it, trade it, give it away, and then forget it and eventually I throw the bag of stale leftover candy out. Works great and no fighting, begging, pleading or whining or WANTING it so badly they can't stand it - no guilt, no sneaking around - just fun.

We have a rule in this house - you only get one piece of candy a day, and that piece is entirely dependent on behavior. The fact is, because we homeschool, Im trapped in this house with these insane howler monkeys all day long, and I just don't need more hyper stupidity than I already have. This year, I've used the same rule ... if I've been a good mommy and not threatened to kill anyone, if I've worked out, and done my chores and gotten my work done, then at the end of the day, I can have ONE piece of candy. Yeah, I blew it yesterday. ;) BUT I didn't eat the candy!!

We are all in the same boat. I gave myself yesterday and today to overdo it. And then tomorrow I am going to put most of it in the freezer. Also, I heard that a lot of dentist offices are doing a donation program where you can drop off your candy and they will send it to the troops. :) You should look it up!

The new math:

If I normally gain 2-3 pounds during my period, and I weigh the same now as I did 2 weeks before my period, does that actually mean I *lost* weight?

I'm supposed to run a 5k tomorrow but the threat of snow has me wussing out. Since it's a self-monitored route in my neighborhood, I'll run sometime next week. I've trained consistently so I think I'll be able to make good time when the weather and schedule finally cooperate.

As for today, my head splinters open if I get off the couch so I'm a bump on a log today, who ordered pizza for lunch. Here's hoping there's sleep in my near future.

It never ceases to amaze me how we can absolutely love how we feel when we're eating better and working out, yet, we abandon it so quickly. I wish there was a magic button we could press that would make the fight easier. Of course, we'd use them first on sending the kids to bed, or making them do their schoolwork, or making our husbands turn into Adam Levine or something. OH well....

Glad to see a few of us are still in it to win it ... even if we go all ADHD sometimes. Love you girls!!

I am here and I am going to track and try to fit in some sort of exercise. Even if it's just doing squats while folding laundry.

Let me know how the FB ban goes!!!! Good Luck!!!

I have 3 good days and 4 bad days, 2 good days, 5 bad days. I don't know how to get myself back on track. The weight I lost is creeping back on and i hate it. Yet, I can't seem to be able to do anything about it. I absolutely need to track every bite, every day to stay focused but I just can't seem to get back into the routine of doing it.

Yay to all of you who are doing well!!!!!

Mary - it was a GREAT weekend. Time alone is good medicine for what ails me. So is a clean house. I took my freedom a little too far and ate half a bag of potato chips but other than that, it was good. So glad you're finding good rhythm. Thanks for sharing the dance link!

For inspiration, thought I'd share my favorite dance routine from the class I attended last night - this isn't our class but we do this routine and it's a lot of fun!

HK - I hope your weekend sabbatical was everything you hoped it would be!

Getting into routines here finally - figuring out when I can fit gym time in. I like classes so it's always a challenge to find a class that meets when I'm free - I wish our gym offered more fun classes during the day while the kids are in school. The best drop in class is Monday night at 8 and I've made it the past two weeks (thankfully the sun is setting earlier and my kids activities are ending earlier so I can make it.)

volunteer work - ugh. It takes so much of my time! I love what I do but sometimes this girl just needs to stay home. My husband and I are taking a sabbatical weekend starting tomorrow. All three children are farmed out to relatives and we're saying no to all requests. We'll go on a date but mostly we'll each get work done around the house so we can feel that elusive feeling of accomplishment.

In other news, I tracked my breakfast this morning. Hopefully I'll remember to track the rest.

I hear you with the three kids and associated activities - add the approximately seven volunteer jobs I get to do because "you're not working" (ha!) and finding the time to get the excercise I need can be tough. I keep telling myself (self pep talk) that it's part of my job to stay healthy and fit enough to keep up with the kids and so I shouldn't feel guilty for all of the time it takes me to get as fit as I need to be. Today's mantra "I CAN because I DO" which is something I was thinking about on my four mile walk today - I was able to do something (I CAN) with the kids this weekend - they wanted me climb a rope and swing with them and I did - and I was only able to do it because I've been working constantly to get and keep myself physically fit (the "I DO" part.)

Great job, Westie! Impressive to hear about your 5k work. I just ran another one myself a few weekends ago (Race for the Cure). It was a hard one to make good time on because there were SO MANY people there. But it was a great day.

As for the food, I am constantly struggling - and just like you I need to track my food. But I find that days are incredibly busy with three kids and all their activities and being class mom and a volunteer with various organizations... sigh. It's too much. I'm happy when I check my email in a day.

I was actually thinking today that maybe I just need to get myself a little notepad and start tracking on that. At least maybe if I see it in print that will encourage me. Maybe I don't need to count exact calories.

I'm MOSTLY happy with where I'm at...but I feel pounds creaping back on here and there... I need to figure out how to maintain and accept myself for how I am.

That's a tough one.

crickets chirping ...

I hope y'all are still out there doing good things for yourselves.

I'm doing well in my 5k training - breaking personal records weekly - but running makes me HUNGRY so my food is all out of whack and the weight is going no where. I need to track my food. I despise tracking food. grr. But it worked back in the day when I was willing to do make the annoying little additions all day long.

still here too! Trying to fit my excercise in around my kids' schedules - I've put over 700 miles on my car this week and only 4 miles on my sneakers. I managed to dump the kids on my husband tonight to go try a zumbathon - two hours of zumba dancing and it was a ton of fun!

Yay Stars! I ate a burger the other night and really wanted it loaded with swiss cheese, mushrooms and onions. Based on my awful choice, I convinced myself to get the side salad instead of the fries or onion rings. Sounds like a simple thing but I'm seriously addicted to fried potato products. I was very proud of myself. (and the mushrooms and onions were worth it :)

I think I am over my funk that i was in last week and i am hoping to drag by butt out of bed and workout this week!!!

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

I'm on the fence. I could either get totally amped up rock the fitness today or I could sit on my couch eating peanut butter m&ms. This shouldn't be a hard choice but I'm struggling.

I haven't gotten a handle on my fall schedule yet so I still feel out of whack. Kids are starting to settle into routine so hopefully I can get myself settled soon. I'm exercising 2 days a week but my eating habits are really bad right now. I at least managed to get decent sleep the past two nights. (Benadryl is a nice perk to getting a cold.)

Late bedtime last night (after I PROMISED myself I would be reasonable.) Middle of the night bed-wetting from the youngest. Rain all day. Even my list of fun/restorative things looks awfully difficult. Friday has kicked my posterior and I don't see much hope for pulling good things from the day.

Riki - my kids would much rather have the shot (all three of them ages 5, 10 and 14) I don't know if it will help but you can tell your kids that my kids say the shot is just a little pinch but the mist makes their throat hurt, their noses run and "tastes terrible." My five year old kept saying "mommy I need to spit" for a good hour after the mist.

We have had bad flu shot experiences here!!!! I'm sure they are just coincidences but anyway...

Lots of rest, germ-x and extra Vitamin C!!

I let myself sleep in again today as I wasn't feeling well still last night. It did the trick and i will be back at working out tomorrow!!!
