Happy Easter to you too! I am with you for any challenge! My goal is to drop one dress size by then. I don't want to buy any more clothes in the size I am in, but don't have much to wear. I have quite a bit in smaller sizes and want to get back to that... It will be quite the challenge because the size I am in fits snug right now...

Ali- AWESOME! All that hard work is paying off!

I weigh in on Saturdays for another team I am on and I have consistently lost 1.4 lbs per week for the last 3 weeks. My goal is 1.6 lbs so I need to work a little harder at it...

Jennie - I know you were doing Couch to 5K a while back. How did it go? I just did my 1st day of it today. I do a lot of cardio aerobics but I forgot how hard jogging is!

I lost another lb from yesterday to today (water weight, i'm sure, my TOM just ended). I updated my tracker b/c I was so excited! Plus today is a weigh in for a Biggest Loser challenge that I'm in.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! emoticon

Jennie- We have all been kinda MIA so don't worry.

Ali- WTG on reaching it to the 140s!

I am sick with a cold. :( Not quite sure how I got this one though. None of the kids are sick and they usually get it first. Maybe it is because they were so sick before, and I only got a little something for a few days.

Jennie - no worries! I know life gets in the way. I've been pretty much MIA on this board. I've still been on SP and doing well. I had a slump where I was bouncing between 150-154. Which is right at a healthy BMI for me. Today I weighed in at 149.5 - I'm psyched to be in the 140's!

Made it to the gym this afternoon but only an hour before it closed.. worked hard so that's good. I've been eating a bit too much the last couple of days, need to get my self control back (it often deserts me!).

Welcome Zedforless-your target is possible, go for it. If you need help or support please ask.

3 pounds off this week-that's because I ate so much last week but I'm just below my end of January weight so that's OK (pity I wasted February!). Next week will be more of a challenge I think.

hope you all have a good weekend

Hi all-

Pretty new to SP but trying to do my first 10 lbs in March - lots of personal life goals that are necessitating big change and part of that needs to be getting to a healthy weight. It's going to be tough but very glad for the high goal and going to try to get there.

Thanks, all! Bring it on, March!

I have a lot to lose so 10 lbs per month is actually a pretty real goal for me. I may not meet it, but I know I can and have done it in the past. I can see how that is intimidating for some, especially those who do not have near as much to lose. The closer to your goal you are, the slower the process and we don't want anyone to be discouraged from some unrealistic goal we have placed on them.

When I joined this group I thought it was lose 10 pounds, not lose 10 pounds in a month-I do think that is quite a challenge..
I'm afraid my input isn't very consistent, so much depends on how much work I've got on each week (I'm self employed) and what else is going on but I do need accountability, I know I cna't do this on my own!
I think my february gains are going which I'm happy about!

Hey Ladies!

That is good Ali ... 4 lbs means youa re moving in the right directions :)

Jessica - yes I think we need to start by updating our name ... I think we are loosing people due to the lofty goal ... its a good motivator for me but maybe nto for others

Also I like the idea of letting a team member handle the challengs for the week ...
If you all dont mind ... Im not going to list any new challenges for this week ... we'll still weigh in on Friday but Im going to do some revamping!

If you want to sign up for a "Challenge Wee" reply to the this chat threat (ill create a March one tonight) adn say which week youll take etc...

It doesnt have to be big but i think we need to infuse somethign into this

Does anyone have more suggestions? I fully admit that I find the most motivation in simply reporting in ... so I do have a hard time coming up with motivations each week...

Im also up for a coleader too if anyone wants to join up with me and fuse some life itno this team! Id hate to see it die out :(

Ali-4 pounds in a month is good, particularly now you are getting nearer your goal weight.

No exercise for me today(working) but eating is good so far, hoping March will be a better month.

Ali- WTG on your 4 lb weight loss in February!! I hope the new job is a great change for you! Try your best and then you will at least leave closer to your goal than you are now.

I am hoping for 60 minutes of working out today and 12 water. I want to get some meal planning and cleaning done as well...

Sorry I've kind of been a ghost this week. I'm still getting used to my new job & have been super busy. I stayed the same this week. I was expecting a gain, so I'm happy staying the same! I leave for vacation in 2 weeks, I'm really excited. We're spending a week in the Carribbean :)
I need to be on track for the next 2 weeks. I know it's a long shot, as weight loss slows as we get closer to our goals but I'd like to leave for vaca weighing 145.

Total weight loss for February 4 lbs.

The boards have been super slow this week. I have been trying to check in daily...

Jennie- Have you decided which direction you are going with challenges? Let me know if you want help...

I don't know how you guys eat when you don't feel well, but I eat terrible. I have been sickish most of this week, but probably could have comfortably worked out every day if I had made it a priority. Also, I know I would feel better if I would eat better. I want some chicken noodle soup. Even if I get it from the store, it would be better than what I have been eating this week.

Here is to a much better month for all of us!! We can do this. We can make positive changes to our eating, exercise, emotional and overall health and life!

Today I am committing to 12 water, instead of 8 or 10 that I have been getting, tracking my food, and 30 minutes of exercise! What can you commit to today?

Tessa- Just try to make better choices tomorrow! Forget about today and remember how great it feels to treat your body right!

I slipped on the ice again today, but it didn't really hurt. My leg is still bothering me though. I was going to do a little bit on the stationary bike and couldn't so I did 15 of step ups tonight instead.

well done.. keep going

I'm struggling this week, using food to help me-not good. I'm not exercising, time has been an issue the last 2 days and my body feels tired from last weeks activity! This happens every year after a weeks skiing so I'm not surprised.

I slipped on the ice yesterday afternoon which hurt my knee/calf more, but I am still going to do a light workout because it seemed to help yesterday. I did 30 on the elliptical yesterday and 10 on the treadmill. I am staying pretty consistent with 10 cups of water since Saturday. I would like to get up to 12 today and eat better today. I still have a sore throat but don't feel any worse than yesterday. I plan to volunteer today since I have parent/teacher conferences anyway.

My knee is feeling a little better this morning, but still not great! I will probably do a 30 minute workout on the elliptical. I am not volunteering. I feel I may be coming down with what the kids had. Just one kid home sick today and I think he will be well enough to go back to school tomorrow. He was running a slight fever yesterday and kept me up with his coughing last night, but after some warm lemon/honey water, vicks vapor rub, cough medicine and being propped up on the couch, he slept much better. I wish I could say the same for me. When I am woke up like that, I have a hard time going back to sleep. :(

Tessa- WTG on all of the exercise on vacation! I really struggle with eating choices too. We need to shoot for one good choice at a time!

I did 85 total minutes of fitness today including 55 minutes shoveling, but I think I did something to my knee during step ups before shoveling. It was a little sore this morning afterward, but now it is really sore. I might just shoot for 30 total fitness minutes tomorrow and keep it easy until my knee feels better. Or maybe I will wake up and it will feel all better! Wishful thinking, but it sure would be nice! Busy day tomorrow with volunteering in kids' classes that is if they are all well enough to go to school. I am pretty sure 2 will be, but not sure on the other, probably not. :(

Hi, I'm back from holiday. Lots of exercise (6 hours skiing everyday for 8 days), too much food but a wonderful holiday. Back to work tomorrow and I'll need to get back on track with eating. I know I'll find motivation harder in the next few weeks but really hoping I can lose some pounds before easter.

I think sparkteams always lose people no matter how great the challenges/people/etc. are. We can do our best to keep them with encouraging notes, etc. but remember not to get discouraged when we do lose them.

Here are the things I look for when joining or deciding to stay with a team: how active are the boards (this one is HUGE), do they have challenges, and do they have similar goals?

I think we could all be a little more active, me especially. I have been going missing for days or a week at a time and I apologize for that. I will try to be more active.

Ideas for challenges: maybe a board where someone new picks out the challenges that week if everyone wants to participate. We did this on a team I was on a long time ago and we did great with it for a while! This way no one person has the responsibility for the every too. MWF and TThS challenges. I think this worked so good because we shared daily and usually more frequently our progress and there were always several participating so it was encouraging.

I am happy with the current setup too, so whatever everyone else wants. :) You are doing a great job Jennie and I really appreciate such a great team leader who is open and willing to change if needed/wanted!

Well Ladies ... we have a few missing weigh ins and a few gains ... it happens ...

March is ALMOST HERE! We just all have to keep pushing through!

Alicia- Took yoru suggestion! Always feel comfortable makign suggestions! Im usually staring at the screen thinking ... hmmm what this week?! I love ideas and I appreciate them!!

Jessica- Well we'll all just keep pushing :) Winters tough to begin with .. so im amazed and proud of all of us!!

So .... ladies any ideas? We lost Canada due to injury .... (I hope everyone reaches out ot her on her spark page! and keeps in touch ... Im sure well have her back soon as shes able)
Tessas away so no biggie there ... but we are loosing people quick ...

My thought where ... should we change our Challenge name? Maybe people are intimidated? Something like "The Monthly Weight Loss Challenge"

To be honest, I took over this team (it was dead) so I just kept the name ....

Im also open to as many ideas as anyoen has .... I would love to see us get back up and running full speed .... Not to say that I dont love our team but we are loosing people we love!

I gained 1/2 lb this week. I was expecting it (actually expected more). I had take out twice & went out to dinner once (belated valentine's day celebration).

Jennie - last night I had Indian food too :)

I'm planning a better week, starting today! 3 weeks till i go on vacation and i'd like to drop a few more lbs by then...knowing that i'll probably gain them while I'm away!!! lol!

Let's all try to be more active on the board this week. I find I do better when I interact with people who share my goal & challenges. Jennie - maybe make part of the challenge to earn 5 or 10 points but only by posting at least 5 times (or how ever you want to set it up). Just a suggestion.

Ali- Thanks ... yes it has been quiet ... (lots of kids on vacation?!) Hopefully thats it .. I know Tessa's on a ski vacation, too

Jessica- Sometimes we just have to keep going and going ... despite the scale not moving! I think stress is a huge thing on this journey we are all taking. We need to learn to deal with it without food .... youll get there. baby steps.

Sometime I find with myself ... when Im bored or feeling lonely ... Ill go out for lunch/dinner casue it feels "social" even if I just go order a sandwich at Panera and sit down ... Im around people. Im working really hard this week at finding other ways of filling that need ... other than eating out. So far Ive walked the mall, gone grocery shopping, ran other errands, took a yoga class ... small changes ...

Weigh in tomorrow!! We can do it!

Ali- WTG on the weight loss!

Jennie- Thanks! I have a feeling this week won't be much better, but will post my weight either way.

I can't believe how crazy things have been at my house. These are the moments I really need to work on my exercise and eating because life goes from one stress to another it seems and I really want to learn to handle stress better!

I couldn't believe my scale this morning...151! That's 3 lbs gone this week :)

I haven't figured out my points yet, but I'm very pleased with my loss this week. emoticon
Even with a couple of bad meals/snacks, I worked my butt off. I finish a 30 workout challenge today where I did pretty intense workouts 6 days a week. Boy has it paid off!

I too braved the scales again - but it has been 2 YEARS since I last got on it. Guess what, I hadn't lost any weight during that lovely chocolate and ribeye fantasy world.

I accept this 10 pound challenge! I will do it and it will be 10 lbs by March 14th. A Valentines gift to ME! Join me and lets get this thing done in 4 weeks. When we are done it will be the best Valentine present that we ever gave ourselves! I am a 52, stay at home mom couch potato and if I can do this YOU can too!!!!

I braved the scales this morning and miraculously I'm still the same. I've been eating all sorts of high calorie food (and not tracking) so unless having a cold makes you burn twice as many calories I've no idea how I've managed it. I've not done much exercise either.
From tomorrow I'll be skiing every day for the week (looks like we will be having sunshine and blue sky, lovely) so hopefully that will get me back on track.
I wont be weighing in next week.
good luck to you all..

Well done
I'm still making poor choices (over food), I can't quite seem to get on track, annoying since I did well last month.
I know I've a lot to do this week before we go away and I've got a cold so not feeling my best but I did manage to run yesterday (not as far as I'd planned originally but it was pretty cold out and I was glad to have done something).
I may opt out of this month and start again in March when I will really need help to keep going.

I had another day of better eating. And I had been up 3 lbs Sunday morning, after my little eating slip-up. I weighed myself after work & I'm back down to 153.5, which is what I weighed on Saturday morning (I weigh in Saturdays for a biggest loser challenge, update my ticker on Fridays).

I did Jillian's Yoga Meltdown & a 10 minute Denise Austin Pilates circuit.

I agree, I think our bodies and also our minds fight us. The things that we know are right just go out the window! I ate like a fat girl Saturday evening. Chips out of a bag & dip out of the container. I know that if I want a snack like that, I can't just mindlessly eat, I have to put a serving in a bowl. But that didn't happen.

Fortunately I worked out all weekend & again today & got my eating back in check.

Tessa - you'll get back on track. And in the mean time, keep working out emoticon

Ok Ladies!!

Mini Challenge is UP!!

I did somethign different this month- Im sure everyone noticed ...we have 1, 5, and 10 points to earn under each area ... My thinking is this: The 1 and 5 points in each catagory will carry over each week. They are the basics we are all trying to work towards anyway. The 10 point challenge will change weekly...

I like changing it up ... keeps us on our toes! but some consitancy is nice too! :)

Let me know what you think!! :)

If anyone would rather more challenges weekly, I can switch back! :)

Going through weigh ins now now :)

Blargh random fluctuations in weight. Yesterday's weigh-in was up .2 pound from the first. Today is down 1.6 - a much closer representation of how I'm doing. I think I as retaining sodium yesterday morning. Ah well, I'll just see it a a boost toward our next weigh-in!

Woohoo Jessica! Over 7 pounds is AWESOME!

Awesome job all around, though. Looks like I'm the only one who gained, and that was minor. We're off to a darn good start this month ladies!

Happy Fridays Ladies!!

Im glad to see everyones doing so well (well except your ankle Canada! ugh) Looks like we are all off to a GREAT start to February!!

Ive been aiming for 10 glasses a day .... I was originally doing 8 but hit a plateau and 10 was the only way to get through ... I maybe hitting one again so I might be upping to 12 glasses ... that and tracking more. I feel like Im gettign out of foucs this week ... Im waiting patiently for life to normalize/slow down ... never seems to happen! Being a single mom is hard work!

Its amazing to see so many of us are daily weighers ... I find the same thign as everyone else. It keeps my accountable. Also, if my weight starts creeping on Sunday ... I can catch it and fix it by Tuesday. Where as if I only weighted once a week ... Id be makinga week worth of bad choices (or whatevers causing the gain) before realizing... thats harder to correct. I also like seeing if, for example, Thursday I was low but Friday I popped up (maybe TOM or bloating) and it helps me to say....oh ok Im back down onSaturday. Feel less hard on myself!

Alicia- I have the same problem with artificial sweeteners ... Have you tried (dont laugh!) Pure Maple Syrup in your coffee? Grade A Medium and Grade A Dark are what most put on their pancakes (dark being stronger) ... Grade B is usually used for cooking ... I buy a small botton of B and use it in my coffee. It doesnt takes "maple-y" at all ... I also use whole milk (which I think gives a richer sweeter taste) In tea I use honey ... (Ive actually given up ALL sweeteners (artificial and regular white sugar) except honey and maple syrup ...) WOOOHOO! Size 8 thats great! Good for you! I have the JM dvds now at your recommendation .... breaking them out this week hopefully while enjoying the snowstorm ... heres hopign we are not both snowed in all weekend!! Thats FANTASTIC! You must be so excited!!! How do you feel? Swelling with pride? :) WHOOHHOO!

Canada- WOOHOO! on the C25K .. warning: SUPER ADDICTIVE! Also, Ive said this on my blog before but bares repeating ... when you get to week 5 it asks you to go from 8 min jog 5 min walk 8 min jog TO 20 min jog no walking .... I think thats nuts!!!!!! I skipped Week 5 Day 3 and did Week 6 Day 2 ... cause it was a 10 min jog 3 min walk 10 min jog ... figuring thats a normal rise. Then I went back to Week 5 Day 3 ... and said to myself Ill do 15 min (should be 20) ... I actually surprised myself becasue I was doing so well and then it says ok and cool down ... Im like what? I just did 20 min? OMG! haha but I think thats a more normal progession ... so heres what I recommend:

Week 5 Day 2 (8/5/8)
Week 6 Day 2 (10/3/10)
Week 5 Day 3 (shorten to one 15 min jog)
Week 5 Day 3 (full 20 min jog)
Week 6 Day 3 (25 min jog) ... youll stay on that for a bit...

I like your plan too to stay on each day as long as possible! Remember in runnign its all about your PR (personal record) ... youll find people dont care how fast you are... they care if youve beat your own record :) Oh and Im ALWAYS hungry after a run too .... Usually bananas and pb ... yum! and take care of that ankle girl!! glad you had it looked at though ... read the full story in yoru blog (yikes!)

Jessica- I suppose you could track light walking for your door to door sales?! haha How are you suriving with a Girl Scout in your house? Id probably eat all the smores! haha I didnt even buy any this year cause I knew Id ahve no self control over them.. Youre doing so great! I love when jeans are tight ... then loose ... then huge! Its a great NSV! Youll get there! (Its funny what you said about the day before/after cause its the reason I daily weigh ... I like seeing whats really happening ....) That being said! WOOHOO! for 5 pounds! Even if its not 100% accurate .... you DID loose and you are doing great! (I hate trackign too but this week I maintained and well... I was bad about tracking or even just keeping tack of carbs as I usually do ... so Im not surprised by the number... next week I track!)

Tessa- I know Im thrilled to see so many of us returning month after month! We all do so well too ... I think weve all foudn the right mix of support and challenge! So proud of all of us!!! Your running, btw, is a sourse of inspiration for me! 6 miles! Girl thats amazing!! I just did my C25K yesterday - up to a straight 20 min run (about 1.15 miles) ... so slow but Im doing it ;) Im signed up for a 5k end of mark and a 10k end of april ... I knwo that sounds crazy but now that Im running without intervals Ill shave time off pretty quickly (or at least I have in the past ... well see) Worse case i walk some of the 10K ... :) Are you training for anythign? Im the same today too ... grr ... well get there! Push push push! Im trying to tack more this week ... incase some sneaky calories are sneaking in! haha

Tessa- You can do it!

Ali- WTG on losing 1.5 lbs, getting to a healthy BMI, and reaching a big milestone!

I had a big loss this week technically, but if I used either weigh ins from the day before or the day after last week it would have been a more reasonable number, around 5 lb loss. Tracking my food isn't my favorite thing to do in the world, but I know it is the best way for me to lose. Hoping to keep up this momentum!

Canada- Glad your ankle is on the mend!

Alicia- Yay for the new swimsuit! You are doing awesome!

Tessa- Your running is such an inspiration!

I am doing great this week. I started tracking my food (which is so hard for me, but so necessary if I want to progress) on Sunday and have kept with it. I definitely still need to make some changes, but I am closer to my calorie range. I am doing great on my water usually between 10 and 14 cups. I have worked out twice this week and plan to workout this morning as well. I am feeling some progress as my jeans are a little loser. They were pretty tight so it will be a while before I drop a size, but I am hoping by the end of March I will be down a dress size.

Ankle's mostly alright. Turns out I sprained it a few weeks ago, and (because I'm stubborn, as my lady would say) it didn't heal right - so now it's a little weak. Ace-style bandage, strengthening exercises, and an okay from the doctor to continue exercising *carefully*.

Off to bed, more later. :)

Tessa- great job running 6 miles! emoticon

I made good food choices today & did Jillian Michaels' yoga meltdown this evening.

I ordered a new swimsuit & it came today. Size 8 & looks pretty good! I have a vaca next month. So I've got abut 5 weeks to lose a little more weight & get closer to my goal. Hopefully this month's challenge will get me there!

I hope you find out what's going on with your ankle soon. Until then you need to be really careful not to do anymore damage to it.

Eating better today and I've run nearly 6 miles.
Next few days are very busy but need to keep at the exercise as best I can.

Hope everyone's having a good week

A bit tired n worn-out today. After breakfast, going to do a cardio+weights video I found on here. Working today from 4 to close, blargh. But hey, I get to wear my new jeans I got yesterday! I was down to only one pair that fit right and needed more for work, so I picked some up - very excited. :)

I've been having this weird issue with my left ankle, and it's driving me nuts. I've twisted it, at least once, nearly every day for weeks now. I'm not exaggerating. Yesterday, while walking to work, I half-stumbled off a curb because it twisted, and then, not even a full minute later, twisted it again. Walking to work was horrid - sharp pain shooting up the outside of my calf, from my ankle. It feels weak all the time now, and I'm worried I did something serious to it before, and now the "twisting" is actually just my ankle yelling that it's not healed. Trying to get in to see my doctor, but it looks like it's going to be a while. If it gets too much worse, I may need to go to Urgent Care. Blargh. Hate going there, they didn't do me any good for my stomach a couple weeks ago.

Anyway, off to do some homework while eating breakfast, then working out. :)

Hope everyone's day rocks!

Oh WOW.

That was insane! I feel great, my legs are warm, and I'm HUNGRY. My lady's fixing a banana-berry-no-dairy smoothie for me. The first couple intervals hurt, but about halfway through, I felt like I was getting in the groove. I'm actually really excited about my Wednesday session. :)

Good to see you all up for the challenge, ready to get going again. I've been on a training day (work) today and I was really good while I was there but got home and foolishly opened a packet of cheese-so now I've eaten more of that than I should have, but I have put the rest in the freezer. No exercise today but I'm aiming for a longer run tomorrow even though it's going to be cold (no other time to conveniently do it this week). Hoping this will undo todays errors.
I'm a daily weigher too, it really does help me keep on track.

Well I didn't get my 30 minute workout in yesterday unless you count door to door cookie sales with a girl scout. :) I got 8 cups of water and tracked ALL of my food yesterday! I was over, but at least I tracked. We had pizza last night and I had too much, but not having any of the leftovers today.

Ali- I can't handle aspartame which is an artificial sweetener because even small amounts (even in gum) give me headaches.

Canada- I hope your first run goes great today!!

I am not ready or willing to give up my morning coffee routine. I still have my full-fat, full-sugar creamer. I use about 1/4 of what I used to use, however, so I figure there's progress on that front, I can focus on other things for a while. :)

Argh! I'm headed out the door in, like, 5 minutes to do my C25k session for the first time. My stomach is doing flips, and I know it's not something I ate. I felt silly all last night for getting anxious over a workout, but my lady pointed out to me that I'm going to do something that I have been told for almost 30 years "You can't do this" - so it's normal to feel nervous.

It's just funny, because I don't remember ever getting stage fright this bad.

I'll let you all know how it goes!

Cananda - Congratulations!!! That is wonderful news! You're lucky to already be on your fitness journey, and you'll be much closer by May! One of my regrets is that I didn't lose weight before my wedding. So keep working at it :)

And yea, I'm a daily weigh-er as well. I was up a pound this morning. I made great food choices but drank crystal light and a later a glass of diet soda, instead of water or sparkling water for most of the day. I think it made me retain water & also dehydrated me a bit (if that can happen at the same time?) I woke up with a headache (kind of like a hangover headache, but without the fun night). I bet it's because I didn't get enough water and had too much artificial sweetener. Today, I'd drained my 24oz jug once and I'm already 1/2 way through it again.

I'm going to lay off the artificial sweetener (except for the truvia in my morning coffee, 1 step at a time) and see how it affects me this week.

Thank you!

Water is a major thing for me, too. However, I had this uber-weird thing happen this morning. Yesterday I'd gained, but today I was down - way down. However, yesterday I decided to celebrate a little. I had a weekend day off, and could spend time with the whole family. I bought donuts for breakfast and we had this HUGE steak/pasta dinner. I know I went way over calories, but I was down almost 3 pounds from yesterday morning's weigh-in. It's weird.

I didn't track yesterday as it happened, so no point for that. But I'm tracking today!

Jessica- Great attitutude! Im a daily weigher too .. so is Canada and a few others... I like 'catching' the sucesses as much as the 'creap ups' ....

For me ... I find that 10 glasses of water is the holy grail lately ... if I dont Im up ... so now Im lugging around a big 24 ounce bottle (less to refill) and jugging all day!! :)

I was up on the scale on Friday, but back down today. I weigh every day and find it is better if I do. I am going to do everything I can to lose at least 10 lbs this month! I lost about 10 lbs a month when I lost on here before so I know it can be done! I need to start with tracking so today I am going to try to get a 30 minute workout, drink at least 10 water and track my food!

emoticon To all out losers...winners...um...AWESOME LADIES!

I'm back with a vengeance this month. I'm so frustrated that I got derailed last month, and half of it wasn't even my fault. So this time, I won't accept my body trying to weasel out of this whole health-thing this time! This month kicks off my C-2-5k training, and if I don't get through it, I can't do the RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! Zombie 5k Obstacle course in August. I know I need some extra-special attention and time because of my hip, so I know I need to really focus if I want to participate in this event.

I also have an extra bit of motivation: look good in a dress by May 24th! I'm getting married. My lady and I set the date the other night, and while I know I won't be at my goal by then, I *WILL* be in a healthier range! And I wanna look darn good.

Jennie - Thanks for the extra bit of cheer-leading. January just wasn't for me, I suppose. If I either hadn't gotten derailed, or hadn't gotten sick, I could have still lost something for the month. However, this month will get better. Whatever random health thing that nailed me has mostly calmed down, and I think I've got it under control.

I know we all gotta work extra hard to get 10 pounds for this shorter month! Let's keep pushing!
