Thats to bad to hear. I hope its going to be less frustrating for you soon!

As for me:
I started at 70kg, my goal weight was 67 KG. I almost reached it since I am now 67.2 KG. I found it frustrating that there was almost no activity in the chat and that challenges werent posted much. That was demotivating me.

For the next challenge I'm hoping for more activity and challenges. I hope we will be able to manage that. I'm game and I'm looking forward to start anew.

Check in for the end of the challenge. I weigh exactly the same as I did at the beginning. Itís been a frustrating 6 weeks and I have allowed everything that has happened to sidetrack me from my health goals.

New challenge for myself? Putting my own health first.

I just signed up for the Lughnasadh Challenge for this team, so I hope it's fine that I post my results for this weeks challenge. :)

Physical
Step it up - Considering I really had no exercise routine before hand, I've added 15 minutes worth of walking each day, except one day on the weekend I take my boyfriend along for a 30min-1hour long walk through a nature trail. This has been my second week following this routine, and I feel that I am doing a good job with it, granted I just started.

Eat it up - I love pasta, and here is a recipe similar to pasta, just without the carbs:
INGREDIENTS

* 2 tablespoons olive oil
* 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes with balsamic vinegar, basil and olive oil
* 1 pound broccoli florets
* 2 cloves garlic, chopped
* salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic, and cook for a few minutes, stirring constantly. Pour in the tomatoes with their juices, and simmer until the liquid has reduced by about 1/2. Place the broccoli on top of the tomatoes, and season with a little salt and pepper. Cover, and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender. Do not over cook the broccoli, it should be a vibrant green. Pour into a serving dish, and toss to blend with the sauce before serving.

Love to you - I have decided to focus more on my art. I really want to do this, and I really deserve it. My self esteem has been holding me back for so long, now is time for me to let go and just let my art out. With that said, I purchased more canvases and other art supplies for that.

Love to others - I've been spending more time with my boyfriend, and been focusing more so I don't get annoyed by him. Lately I had just been shrugging him off and giving him horrible attitude, but this past week I focused on just enjoying his company.

Spiritual
Find it - New flowers are now in full blossom, it is time for me to really take advantage of what I planted. Bring what I started from it's bud to its full bloom. The beginning is over, it is time to bring things to full view.

But it is not time to harvest those activities, no. That time will come soon enough, right now I need to make sure to care for them well so when it is time to harvest, I have great crop and achievements to show off.

So I posted this weeks challenge and then didnít post my follow up, so here it is.

emoticon Step it up Ė added two short walks to my day three days this week. Yup, the weather is great so me & my crutch did a tour of the outside of the office building.

Now i feel bad for letting life keep me away from being a good motivator and stuff. I agree with Uniflame in that maybe next round we can get a little more active. If not then we can be split up. Me personally I am going to challenge myself to at least check the posts every day and post at least once a week. With my pending change of station to Korea I've been real busy with appointments and running about so that's my excuse for being lazy this round. Oh and going on vacation for 21 days with no computer. Tee hee.

If we were to combine two small groups it would be ok. What I got from what Autumn Windís post made it sound like splitting us between the other two groups. I havenít read the other teams chats so I have no idea what either of the otherís is like. Iíve found support and common interests beyond losing weight here and was afraid of losing that.

I'm having trouble finding a nice phare that reflects my feelings going from Beltane to midsummer. I'm not so good with quotes and things like that :) However I will continue to look :)

I am going to look for a healthy lasagna recipe as we speak. I will post it here when I found it. How is every one else doing on the challenges?

As for loving myself: Yesterday I did good. I walked for an hour in a nature park. It was beautiful :)

I know that most of us know eachother a bit. So indeed it wouldnt be like splitting up this group would end in being with total strangers. Is now a good time to mention that bringing this challenge down to two groups wouldn't be like joining strangers? Things are very quiet over in the Wolfwomen chat too. Warm weather and end of school year obligations seem to have effected most of us. If not for this challenge, since we are so close to the end... the next.

well I wouldnt have mind if we had been split up. However the members that ARE active here, I got to know a bit since the past weeks too. I agree its a bit demotivating that the activity is low and that there are no challenges posted.

However its only 2 weeks left and we just start fresh then :) We just stick to our plan and help eachother if we can. And I guess the active members just need to think of new challenges for the new week when the current challenges are over :)

i did. course the parental units were being their usual psychotic selves but it's okay cause i ran and hid at the in-laws. LOL. But it was nice to unwind and just relax. Not really worry about anything for a bit.

If someone receives acupuncture is there a voodoo doll somewhere screaming in agony?

Frell this was my week to post a challenge. Man I am so behind. I just got back from vacation and I avoided the computer the entire time. I also missed the weigh-in update too.

Okay weigh-in first: yesterday i weighed in at 179lb but i've been fluxing pretty bad so i don't know if that will hold.

As for the weekly challenge, a day late and a dollar short, I challenge everyone every time they look in the mirror to say one nice thing about themselves. Too much time is spent in front of that mirror filling it full of negative thoughts and comments till it reflects nothing but bad back upon us. If we start filling the mirror full of good thoughts and positive reinforcement then soon it will reflect our true inner beauty!! Mirrors are very powerful and even if you don't use them as a tool for magic they still can hold it within it's silvery surface. emoticon

Iím looking forward to tame weekends myself. Some time in the garden, maybe rent some movies for when it gets too hot to be outside.

Iím also wondering where everyone else went. It would be more fun with a few more people chiming in on the conversation.

I could die for some tame weekends ;) I'm glad you had fun though :)

I managed to maintain my weight! I'm happy about it! Didnt lose weight, but thats ok, I expected as much :) Besides I did lose 2cm on my waistline :) I'm happy about that!

Too bad we dont have another challenge yet, its not much fun or challenging this way. I wonder where everyone went...

My weekend was pretty quite. I worked Sat. Did a little gardening, watched some hockey, housework all the fun stuff. All my weekends look pretty tame until August when I head to Dragon Fest (Coloradoís Pagan Festival) and then quite again until October for MileHiCon (Literary Sci-Fi/Horror/Fantasy).

The big news was buying a used RV. Iím just not as into the whole sleeping on the ground thing as I was in my 20ís. My husband & I used to do a lot of camping. This should help us get back into it.

It was great! I had so much fun :)

It was an anime and manga convention. I had 2 wardrobe shifts over the weekend. One was fairly quiet but the other one was crazy ;) We even had to arrange a second room for storage!

I attended a lot of workshops while not being on shifts. I learned to play GO, danced and did karaoke. I was also able to buy a lot of goodies in the dealer room.

So yes, it was a lot of fun! Thanks for asking! And thanks to sparkpeople I was able to make healthy choices. Like picking the low cal dishes at the Japanese buffet and I had a salad for lunch one day. The other day I ate sandwiches. I even said no to the McDonalds when they didnt offer a grilled chicken salad but only crispy. (grilled is 190, crispy about 300) I went for a vegetarian bean dish with rice instead at another place :) So I'm glad :)

I you managed to eat fairly healthy while running your butt off at a convention; you won no matter what the scale says on Thurs. The big question is did you have a good time. It seems to be just you & me here so tell me all about it.

Just checking in after the convention :)

I think I did pretty well. I had the japanse buffet on friday but I only had one portion and most of it were veggies. Of course I had some more calories then I would normally have. But considering that I worked my butt off in the wardrobe and doing other stuff while voulenteering I needed more calories to begin with. Mostly ate sandwhiches in the morning and afternoon. I think I maintained but we wont know untill its thursday ;)

Iím a 50 something & am pretty sure I packed any hope of a high metabolism away with my college stuff. I ate breakfast at the buffet and then packed healthy snacks for myself. Then tried really hard to resist the temptations lurking on other staff membersí plates.

Yeah I know! I'm also a 20-something but I wonder where that high metabolism went. Anyway it will be a real challenge. However I have looked up healthy food options in the area, so thats a start. Further I bring my own bread for breakfast and healthy snacks. I'm not saying I wont have anything special that weekend but just not too much. Another thing is that I work there as a volenteer so I should get enough exercise ;)

Itís hard to do more than maintain when youíre at a convention. At StarFest/HorrorFest I concentrated on making sure what I ate was as healthy as possible, which was a challenge in its self. Hotel/bar food, donuts in the room I was responsible for, candy in the movie rooms. Staff food thought of by 20-somethings with high metabolisms. ARGH! Way more of a challenge than I really needed.

8 glasses of water a day is pretty arbitrary. My Dr told me that you need enough to send you to the bathroom several times a day, & that your output should be clear and almost odorless. If you meet that criteria then your doing fine for you.

I think that diet recommendations have the 8 glasses a day for two reasons. The first is that many people dealing with weight issues mistake thirst for hunger. The second is that it fills you up.

Didnt lose anything and still on 68.1
But I'm glad with it. Since I have 2 very weird weekends (1 was LARP and 1 is the AnimeCon next weekens) my goal for these weeks is to maintain. And with the first week I succeeded to do just that ^_^

I'm wondering where everyone is. How are you guys doing?

Its not that I keep forgetting to drink water. My problem is my body cant handle too much water. I cant drink more then 5 a day or I get the runs including stomach cramps.

I cant afford those when I'm at work so thats the reason I dont drink more then 4-5 glasses of water.

Uniflame,

Have you tried carrying a water bottle around with you? It often means that the water is room temperature rather than cold but itís handy to sip at all day. I have a 16 oz bottle (2 glasses) and finish one before lunch & one before I go home for the day.

I drink my first glass right when I get up. It helps the cottonmouth and dragon breath. I have medication that I take as well and drink a full glass with each set. Thatís three more for a total of 7. If I add one before my evening walk and one after Iíve got 9 for the day without any effort.
