Here's a reminder of how this team got started:
This team evolved from the Twelve Weeks 'til Christmas Challenge Team (Year Two). The 12th challenge is to maintain the healthy habits that were developed over those 12 weeks! The REVISED for 2013 team goals are:
1. Maintain the healthy habits that we’ve developed on the 12 Weeks ‘til Christmas Challenge Team
2. Lose and/or maintain goal weight over the course of 2013
3. Stay motivated and motivate others
Habits to Maintain:
1. Stay connected with a community (motivate your Sparkfriends, post to discussion boards, or a write blog at least once a day)
2. Eat healthy, well-balanced meals and track your food every day
3. Exercise daily (3 days of strength training and 4 days of cardio each week)and track your fitness
4. Eat 5 fruits and vegetables each day
5. Play the Trivia Game on Sparkpeople to continue to learn about nutrition, health, and fitness
6. Stretch daily
7. Drink 8 glasses of water every day
8. Get 8 hours of sleep at least once a week
9. Track 9 nutrients and stay within range on at least 5 of your tracked nutrients every day
10. Take 10 minutes each day for meditation or reflection
Here's how it works:
Tracking your progress on habits: You can earn up to 10 points a day. Give yourself one point for each habit that you maintained each day. Try to get 300 points each month!
Monthly Bonus Points: (Earn up to 60 bonus points a month)
Play Trivia every day and score 90% or higher for the month and earn 10 bonus points
Lose 8 pounds a month and earn 10 bonus points or maintain for the month and earn 5 bonus points
Exercise 1677 minutes a month and earn 10 bonus points (20,130 for the year)
Earn 1677 Spark points a month and earn 10 bonus points (20,130 for the year)
Log miles in the 2013 mileage challenge- 168 miles each month earns 10 bonus points (record your walking, cycling, running, elliptical, treadmill, swimming, etc. mileage to participate) 168 miles per month will equal 2016 miles… 4 more than the yearly goal of 2013! OR choose the 93 mile each month option (1111 miles for the year) and earn 10 bonus points for that reaching your monthly goal!
Burn 2,013 calories a week through exercise!
