Yep. That is my main problem with it. ONE makes me want to eat whatever I want! And I usually do. It's not just the sugar/carbs/calories. It's the actual alcohol that makes me relax & lose my inhibitions (which I NEED to keep!) lol.

I was just curious where you were with that... I'm not a big drinker, so you never know. If drinking is the achilles heel then that will be the hard part of the entire vacation. However, if it's food, then that can be soooo easy to combat. Really. Just, like the ladies have said, keep carbs to the early part of the day. Veg and protein to the end of the day, lite drinks or even water at the end as well and you said you will exercise alot, the walking and the swimming... I bet you'll do way better than you think you might do. You'll be able to enjoy your entire vacation and truly have the most awesome time! Remember your proteins... if it's all inclusive... your eggs in the morning will be FULL of protein, so if you have some of them, you'll actually be full til lunchtime, stick with the citrus fruits, as they are lowest in sugars and berries are amazing... so very full of fiber, again, VERY filling and so tropical! I really think you'll have pretty platefuls of food and no one will be the wiser that you are watching what you are doing... you'll be so smart and healthy and losing weight while doing it! I'd just take a quick glance or three at the food lists before you go to get those in your head... fish is awesome, too...

I'm envious... we are due for cold weather again starting tonight and I sure wish I were heading south! LOL Have FUN!

So excited about the 17 Day Diet. It has truly taught me new ways of eating and being healthy. Although I've not followed the daily cycles since I finished Cycle 2 at the start, I do tend to choose only foods from all three cycles. I incorporate the added carbs as I can and we are living a 17 DD Inspired life! Getting us to goal!

Lite Beer is a good idea. I am not crazy about really sweet drinks although I do enjoy a good Margarita! Yes I know...there is sugar in them too!

Have fun! :-) What are you feeling about the alcohol advice? I'm curious. Are you into surgary drinks? Maybe a lite beer? Lite beer may be the better choice and if you can "milk" it. I know when on vacation, sometimes the umbrella drinks which are LOADED with calories seem to be the ones that are most common and especially in tropical locales. So curious about what you think you may be thinking about.

I agree with Kathy. Skip or watch alcohol consumption! Even in the later cycle when it's allowed, I rarely indulge, because even ONE makes me want to eat whatever I feel like, which is way too much.

My favorite rule is no carbs after 2. This really helps me stay in control, even on my "allowed" carb days. Maybe just stick to one meal with a healthy carb in it, and one dessert per day (IF you really want it). The earlier the better. It might be more like a C3 day. If you just make sure the choices you make are ones you REALLY want, and choose them wisely, you will do fine! Then you can decide when you get back, whether you need to return to C2 or whether C1 is in order. Relax, have fun and MOVE YOUR BODY!! And don't forget to drink lots of water!!

Let us know how you do!!

First of all have a wonderful time! I hope your weather is terrific and you have no issues along the way!

My first suggestion would be to really curb the alcohol. Alcohol is nothing but sugar in empty calories and it really will sabotage your efforts, so while you do want to be able to enjoy a glass of wine with dinner every now and again don't go overboard with the alcohol.

The second thing is make sure to keep your carbs before 2 p.m. and to go easy don't be afraid to ask the waiter how the food is prepared and make your choices the white proteins, chicken, turkey, the lighter fishes.

Most of all enjoy your company, have a wonderful time, and let us know how you're doing! .

Hi....I will be 10 days into cycle 2 when we leave for our holiday. All-inclusive in mexico for 2 weeks. I am trying to go over in my head how I will handle it! On one hand I just want to enjoy our holiday on the other I don't want to go nuts! I know we will be doing a lot of walking and swimming for exercise. I know that there will be lots of veggies and fruits available at the buffets, but I am not sure about how the protein will be prepared. I am concerned about the al acarte's and the alcohol! Has anyone else gone on a holiday like this? What worked for you? When you got back did you start over on cycle 1?
