Lee, Use the internet... I have lots of issues... I am always on the internet looking for solutions to help me in everything I feel I need help with... I have a swollen ankle issue (well, I guess you can say that I HAD a swollen ankle problem)... it was way worse than it is now. When I first started this diet, that was the thing I noticed within the very first 3 days that was a very visible improvement. Now, not all are on OUR list of foods, but when I looked at that list and found those that were? Those foods went immediately onto MY LIST of foods to eat. So, now I eat those foods on a very regular basis. ALL the time... turns out that these are alot of the same foods that are good for my diabetes (remember that post of mine in my blog somewhere?)... anyway... it all is healthy stuff.
As for your question. My answer would be to #1, start having her incorporate MORE foods that will help her in that area of swelling, which is just better for her situation... and then another suggestion... try to have her start minimizing ANY seasoning... I know it's boring, but when you start to let the natural foods shine through, the foods natural flavors then shine through, too... and they do have ALOT of flavor on their own... if that isn't a winning suggestion.... and along those lines, salsa is natural and has alot of flavor, red bell peppers are a strong flavor w/o any seasoning, etc... that's what I'm talking about.. not to mention that I use garlic, ginger, olive oil, you know I like my turmeric, indian spices, etc.. stuff like that... spices without salt. You got this! ;-)

So excited about the 17 Day Diet. It has truly taught me new ways of eating and being healthy. Although I've not followed the daily cycles since I finished Cycle 2 at the start, I do tend to choose only foods from all three cycles. I incorporate the added carbs as I can and we are living a 17 DD Inspired life! Getting us to goal!
