My wife makes homemade kale chips and they're awesome. Time consuming, but awesome. Spending the time making them also helps the craving subside somewhat, at least for me. I'll also put some crazy salt on carrots to snazz them up. Carrots are also good dipped in kefir or yoghurt with a little seasoning. You get the crunch and the flavour.

I like Kale chips. They give me that satisfying crunch that potato chips do.
Here is the Ranch Dressing mix recipe...I usually skip adding the dried buttermilk powder since I use yogurt in the mix.

Homemade Ranch Mix.
Ingredients:

1/3 cup dry buttermilk
1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
1 and 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon dried dill
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried onion flakes
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper

Directions: Place all ingredients in your food processor and whirl for a minute just to blend and crumble those parsley and onion flakes. Store in an airtight container.

Thanks SARALEE, shouldn't be Pam's since I am having it now. I ended up chewing a piece of gum. I couldn't remember if gum was allowed but had it anyway. It has passed which is good! Thanks for the advice.

Hmmm... let's see... is it pms? Are you getting enough protein? Are you eating enough? Are you thirsty? Desiring salt might mean your body wants to retain water.

Not sure if you have tried this, can't remember who I mentioned it to, but when I am craving salty/crunchy.. I get a variety of veggies.. peppers, cukes, carrots, and dip them in homemade ranch dip made with full or lowfat greek yogurt. I make it with the Hidden Valley powder, but FP4H makes her own... not sure how.

Sometimes cravings do sneak in there, but it is your body trying to tell you it needs something, and sometimes, it is just our old nature trying to sneak back in control!! See if you can nail down where the craving is originating from, and how you can best TREAT it, without strengthening your "giving in" muscles. Stay in control, think & act mindfully. Sometimes just giving it a 5 minute rest.. visualizing yourself as you want to be - this can really help the cravings to just pass.

Let us know how you did!!!!!!

So today is Day 6 and has been my toughest yet. For some reason I am craving pretzels - I need the salty crunch snack. I could even go for a small piece of chocolate. I thought the cravings should have passed by day 6. What is my deal?
