I am trying to prepare for the maintance part. I bought a program called cookn' 10 and have been putting all my healthy reciepes and remakes of my favorites in it. It also let you do weeklly menu planning that i can save for same week next year. So I am putting alot of work into making the lifestyle change work for me. And I must say i do love this cooking program.

Lifestyle change for sure... Ivan and I feel it... The sweets made it into this house a bit too much this season but tomorrow it's goodbye and back to basics... and we need to really plan on what to do to figure out how to fit them in without letting them take over! LOL They really aren't in the plan and we don't want them to be... we feel so much better eating clean and cookie-less, actually... so we'll fully re-think this before the next holiday! LOL

So excited about the 17 Day Diet. It has truly taught me new ways of eating and being healthy. Although I've not followed the daily cycles since I finished Cycle 2 at the start, I do tend to choose only foods from all three cycles. I incorporate the added carbs as I can and we are living a 17 DD Inspired life! Getting us to goal!

Yeah - I guess we've all figured out that there's no such thing as "done" when trying to maintain a healthy weight and keep our furnaces burning at optimum. Used to be - but all that has changed now that our obesity experts have really figured it all out.......

Thank you for the welcome. And yes you are right. I do realize all that you had to say. The problem is that it is like a switch in my head that when i reach a certain number on the scale my brain says ok, we're done. I need to figure out why that is. And I am going to prepare for this and NOT let it happen again. I'll take all the

Welcome back!

Good for you to coming back and deciding that you want to get things under control again! That is awesome!

I think perhaps what you need to decide is that the 17 Day Diet is not a diet --- that's actually a misnomer. It is a lifestyle -- so when you get to your maintaining or goal weight again, you will want to decide that this is the way you are going to live for the rest your life. You really don't just reach your goal and then go off and start eating the way you used to. Guaranteed all the weight will come back. Not only does that do a number on morale, but it's really bad for the health. The old way of eating certainly is in the past - it's history - it's over and it's done....

Come back here often check with us! We have an amazing group of people here.....all at various stages - look forward to hearing great things!!

Happy New Year!!

I havn't been on here for awhile. I started the 17DD when it first came out. I lost 70 pounds on it too. When I did reach my goal weight, I started to gradually gain weight a little a time, until I gained 50 of it back. I have yo yo dieted for several years now. So I do hope that this time around I can figure out why I do this and fix it so that I can maintain and not gain. I have put a lot more planning into it this time. I do think that this site and all of you can help along this journey.
