Gina, thank you so much for this post! The honesty and insight you shared is so helpful to all of us. It's so great that so many of us share the very same experiences. And it makes my heart happy to read everyone's encouragement of a friend!

Will absolutely keep you in my prayers this weekend. Be well. Take a walk around the halls of the hospital if you need a break.

Prayers coming your way Gina...hang in there, be strong, and remember to find ways (outside of binge eating) to alleviate your stress. Take a moment or two throughout your day to be silent and calm within yourself.

And know we are here... emoticon

So 4 days of C1 and I am back to before I took my "break". No to see what the rest of this round brings.

I got a call last night and it looks like I am heading to my home town tonight or in the morning. My brother is in the hospital. I home I can be strong enough for my mother and not cave on my eating. Keep us in your prayers.

My turn! We got a call yesterday at 7am to come to the hospital. Anyway I grabbed a HB egg and 1/2c coffee. No lemon water. I ate a power cookie at the hospital at around noon. We got home around 2:30 and I had two pieces of pizza. I didn't feel like cooking and I could have had a salad and ckn breast I keep in the freezer but I just wanted to eat pizza with my DH while watching a movie like we used to do to keep him company. Later I had a small bowl of frozen yogurt (it is low cal and does have live cultures, but not on plan) and 3 Hershey's kisses. It was just a day for comfort food I guess and old habits do die hard.

I didn't feel guilty and I didn't go overboard like I would have at one time. I know that this diet makes it easy to get back on track, but it's only easy if you have gone through all 3 cycles. I think that the most important thing is to get through the first round 100% compliant or as close to it as possible, so that you do lose your cravings and really notice changes in your system. My motivation today is the stomach ache that I had last night from eating the pizza!

Also, the motivation I get from all of you...it's great to have a team behind you to keep one accountable

As one of your "Leaders" I am just busting out with pride for each and every one of you. You all GET IT!!!!!!!, that is wonderful.

I am so proud that when each of us (and that includes me), slips, we get right back up on that horse and continue on with our journey. I don't think I have ever stuck to a diet so honestly and truthfully as I have this one.
I guess it is because I don't miss anything. Would I love to have some chocolate? Sure, I'm a woman lol. Will I ever have that chocolate again? Sure, when I know that I can eat just one little bar and not the whole bag.
Congrats Shrinking, you are on your way to success and so are we all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are so right about being on this diet forever. And that's not a bad thing. This works so well for me.
I was recently on a "forced" two week vacation. The last time I went to visit family was very stressful and I gained almost 10 lbs in 2 weeks! This time, less stressful, and I was at the end of Cycle 2. Mostly, the food choices were not under my control, but I have to said I made the best of it. I had learned to ask for what I wanted, pass up what was not a good choice and mostly asked to eat when I was hungry. No, it wasn't perfect and after eating in restaurants for almost every meal, I found myself weakening here and there at the end, but I made it without gaining a pound. And now, I'm back on Cycle 1. Yay!

I do have to say, that eating in restaurants so much I learned that even in making the right choices I was often surprised at how good the right choices tasted! New foods, new tastes, new surprises! I love this diet.

Shrinkingg1: You are echoing some of my own thoughts with this post! I have started looking toward Cycle 3 (starts for me next week) and thinking about how I'm going to approach my meal planning. With the structure and discipline of C1 & C2, and the book's underlying philosophy, I know I cannot go 'all out' and 'eat whatever I want' - not even when I get to Cycle 4. Because like you said, if I could just do that then I wouldn't be sitting here with poor eating and self-care habits now would I?

I'm glad you've gotten over this hurdle, and I am VERY glad you posted this, definitely helpful to me - we are all on this same path!

You couldn't have had better timing! I just wrote a blog about my slip up today and wondering if I should jump back on plan or just start counting calories. You just answered my questions. I'm getting back on plan tonight with dinner. Why wait until tomorrow?

Thanks so much!

EXACTLY!!!

You are so right! You learn how to eat and how to manage your slip ups. As I've said...this is life and there are times you won't eat right. But you need to know how to monitor yourself and feed the discipline. You are on the right track!

Congrats and here's to another successful round!

Yes the dreaded confession.

I took a few days off due to a camping trip where food was under the control of others. I knew it and just went with it. Monday morning I did not want to get on the scales but I did and I was up. Of course. Did I let it stop me from getting back on the wagon um plan. Nope. Tuesday the scales were up. For dinner Monday I had turkey tenderloin by hormel and did not even think to look at the sodium. Yep loaded. Oh yeah should have been turkey breast not loin. My bad and the scales showed it. Wed scales made up for Tuesdays gain and now I continue on. It might take me a few days to recover from the weekend but guess what. I am right back on track.

That is the thing with this diet. You slip and fall or plan to dive right in and get get up, shake it off and get back to healthy eating. I am not waiting for this diet to be over it never will be. I will always need to be careful of what and when I eat. Lets face it if I could eat what ever I wanted when ever I would not need to lose almost 100 pounds. I am happy to say the cravings did not come back although the willpower disappeared for a day or two.

I hope this helps someone. I know they say confession is good for the soul. I know I feel better.

Wishing you all visits from the woosh fairy!

Gina
