You are so right about being on this diet forever. And that's not a bad thing. This works so well for me.
I was recently on a "forced" two week vacation. The last time I went to visit family was very stressful and I gained almost 10 lbs in 2 weeks! This time, less stressful, and I was at the end of Cycle 2. Mostly, the food choices were not under my control, but I have to said I made the best of it. I had learned to ask for what I wanted, pass up what was not a good choice and mostly asked to eat when I was hungry. No, it wasn't perfect and after eating in restaurants for almost every meal, I found myself weakening here and there at the end, but I made it without gaining a pound. And now, I'm back on Cycle 1. Yay!
I do have to say, that eating in restaurants so much I learned that even in making the right choices I was often surprised at how good the right choices tasted! New foods, new tastes, new surprises! I love this diet.
