Our Christmas traditions include “Holy Supper” on Christmas Eve in the Eastern European tradition. We serve 12 different items in remembrance of the 12 apostles. All of the foods are without meat, foul, dairy, and eggs and include a glass of wine, garlic cloves which we dip in salt, bread which we dip in honey, mushroom soup, pea soup, sauerkraut or cabbage soup, pierogis, baked fish, beans, and a fruit compote for dessert. After the meal we sing Christmas carols. Each course (garlic & salt, bread & honey, each of the soups, the fish with the pierogis and the beans, and the fruit) is served separately with only the mother (me) permitted to leave the table during the eating of the meal to serve the various foods. On Christmas day we go to church in the morning and then have a traditional Christmas meal of turkey, ham and all the sides…way too many usually. After my son was past the Santa Claus stage we began to open our gifts on Christmas Eve (before that of course we had to wait till Santa came and opened the gifts in the morning). Holy supper is at our house. Christmas day is traditionally at my cousin’s house. I will then make another fairly traditional dinner on Friday ….got a turkey breast and spiral ham. Will also make asparagus, cauliflower but not a lot of carby sides and everyone is ok with that. I got Russian Rye bread for those who want sandwiches with their ham. Oh, and cheesecake for dessert.

I am pretty much on track today. I ate all compliant food, grocery shopped, did my extra walking at the grocery store, cleaned out a bit in the garage, and ate supper at home alone because DS went out for pizza with his friend. I think I have a pretty good grip on everything that I need to do for the next few days. I hope to be able to relax a bit tonight.

Tammy - I have to use a vacation day, but yes it is nice to get it off! I am looking forward to a 5 day weekend! And to spending tomorrow with my family! As far as one day being hungry and wanting to devour everything in sight, and the next not being hungry at all... I personally think it is hormonal. So unfortunately, not much you can do about it, except stock up on healthy foods and try to eat those when then hunger monster hits! I find that I do much better if I stick to veggies and protein when I get like that, than if I eat junk. Protein especially seems to help more than anything! It's been hard with all the candy and cookies around lately to tempt me, but I have tried very hard to not over-indulge this year.

If anyone is still out there, tell us how you spend your Christmas! My family usually spends Christmas Eve with my parents (now, just my mom) and we would have dinner and open presents with them. Now that my kids are grown and have kids of their own, we are doing things earlier this year, going out to lunch instead of dinner tomorrow, then presents and desserts back at my mom's. Once they head back home, I am looking forward to the Christmas Eve service at church, which I have never attended. I am hoping that my husband will join me. Just have to wait, pray and see what happens. I'll probably spend some time with him on Christmas Day, perhaps go to a movie or something. I'm putting a turkey breast in the crock pot for my mom and me to enjoy with a few heat and eat sides, so we won't have too much mess in the kitchen.

emoticon

Hope everyone is doing well! If I don't get time to post again before Thursday, Merry Christmas to all!!

Chris - Nice that you get Christmas eve off. So many folks have to work at least 1/2 day that day. I'm sure this Christmas will be extra special for you with your 2 new granddaughters.

I am back to total compliance today. The evil hunger demon that possessed me the past few days seems to have been exorcized. Honestly I do not understand why some days are so very very easy and other days are so very very difficult. Does anyone have any insights into this??

Tammy - yes, I have been going non-stop. Have to work today and tomorrow, but will be off the rest of the week. Woohoo!! Not being very compliant, but not doing anything too horrible either. Not stressing over the holiday this year. Just doing what I am able. Glad to hear that you are doing better with your skin issues. I certainly hope that continues to get better.

Will try to check in if possible.

Just a quick check in from me. Everyone must be pretty busy as the thread sure is quiet. Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday preparations. I am feeling much better than I did on Friday...and happy to announce my terrible skin problems seem to be just about all gone. What a relief. Now I just hope they stay away. Struggled today with eating as there were way too many temptations at church coffee hour and my resistance muscles were not in gear. I am determined for tomorrow and Tuesday to be fully compliant as Christmas Eve and Christmas Day hold special challenges all unto themselves!

Diane - Glad you arrived safely! Don't stress too much over the milk duds. They are but a blip in your otherwise amazingly compliant eating. And my guess is that having done that you will be all the more conscious of temptations over the next few weeks.

I started out today very compliant but ended on a bad note having indulged in some cookies that weren't even that good. Ugh! I am moving on and ok about my "blip" today.

I had a weird day in general today. I was up early and feeling good. I grocery shopped and did my extra walking at the store. Still felt good. Then around 1:30pm I felt like a truck hit me. I got so tired I just couldn't do another thing. I ended up sleeping most of the day and evening away...deep sleep with dreams, waking a few times when I heard DS stirring around the house and I let him know I was ok, just tired. I guess I needed it as I have had a lot of disrupted sleep lately due to my skin problems. It is past midnite here now and I am ready to go back to bed.

I am looking forward to a compliant and productive Saturday and wish the same for everyone here!

Yikes...flew yesterday and went to buy bottle of water at airport....milk duds box right next to cooler...I bought it and DH and I ate the whole box over the next 6 hours! It was a good sized box and I know I had more than half, too! Today I am regretting my weakness....have not had candy since before last June when starting this 17dd.....likely not for the previous 6 mths either, lol. It's the one thing even "off diet" I almost never let myself eat. Too much sugar and worthless calories....I would rather eat a pasta meal or a loaded baked potato, piece of cake, etc. do not know what hit me? Stress hormones maybe?

Well, the good news the rest of yesterday all my eating was on track and I will be on track today. Heading to the store to stock up our empty MN fridge. Have a great Friday all!

June - Easing yourself into the diet by being careful now is a sound strategy in my mind. I am thinking that might just do the trick for you to find compliance less challenging in the new year.

Diane - Thanks for the tip about the Biotin. I am not familiar with it but will look into it. My rheumatologist prescribed folic acid for me when he put me on the Methotrexate and told me today that the folic acid should help with hair loss. It just made me wonder how much more hair I might have lost if I hadn't had the folic acid. The doc was fine with my decision to go off the Methotrexate and said he understood. I am optimistic that I will do ok without it.

I had a good on track day even though I was on the road to the doctor's office about 75+ miles away. We ate lunch on the way home...I had a healthy salad....so good I didn't need dressing. Rest of the day was easy for me. Motivation is high for me at the moment.

June.....sorry you are having such a tough time with 17dd this time around. Believe me when I say I have been there and understand!

I am taking a breather of sorts until January when I want to hit 17dd again in earnest and start exercising, too. There seems to be several on this team that are going to try to "hold" over the holiday and recommit come January....we can all do it together! emoticon emoticon

Hope your Christmas is a Merry one!!

Tammy....I can really identify with "losing hair" which started for me in 50's and worse by 60.....best thing I have found for my hair is Biotin 5000 mcg minimum daily. (Its a B vitamin so if a person takes in more than the body uses it just flushes out of your system in urine)

My DH had stress related bald spots in his 1968 army days which lasted a couple years until his discharge.....then, a couple years ago it started to come back....in back of his head....the empty spot all filled in over a 3-6 month period after staying on biotin supplement with me. (He agreed to try it after his hair stylist recommended it....I had wanted him to start on it but he doesn't like to take much in the way of supplements) We both take it now....and I shudder to think what my thinner hair might be like today without it.

If you think you want to give Biotin a try, you should ask your doctor(s) for their advice. Will be hoping (and praying) you do well off the methotrexate......my sister may be going back on it if Medicare does not pay for her Orencia infusions.

Hey Ladies. Hope everything is going great with everyone.

I made it less than a day last time. I just didn't want to do it.

I decided Monday that I needed to watch what I eat for a few days to drop some pounds before Christmas. It's going good so far. I am going to restart the diet after the new year. I need to find that determination I had before.

Diane – Woo Hoo for being on track! Sorry for the Christmas stress you feel. The traveling would stress me further. I get stressed too but have dealt with it by scaling back to a lower key more manageable level of all things holiday related. Bless your DH for pitching in! He sounds like a keeper!

Chris – I agree with you about the moderation….which I did NOT exercise on Saturday and Sunday. I think to some degree the process carbs trigger cravings for more of the same bad stuff. Holding on to moderation needs to be foremost in my mind when I stray.

I was totally compliant again today and feel great…totally in control…not even tempted by the remaining sweets brought back from the engagement party. Go figure. I guess the sweet craving switch is in the off position again. I went to the dermatologist yesterday…major skin problems continue…trying another topical ointment for now…possible laser treatments in the new year if my condition continues to be so resistant to other treatments. Tomorrow I see my rheumatologist and plan to tell him I am off of the Methotrexate. I skipped my weekly dose on Sunday. I am losing my hair and don’t feel any improvement from it. My dermatologist supported my desire to go off of the Methotrexate.

Here’s to a happy Hump Day!

Tammy...WTG.....it is great to be back on track! I was yesterday and plan to be today also. One day at a time.

Chris....you are truly an inspiration....yes, let's plan on a real push all of us here on 17dd, together, starting January!! We can do it!

We fly back to MN on Thursday and the reality is setting in, I am starting to feel stressed over Christmas....not my favorite time of year, sigh....I also know it will all be fine in the end, it always is, smile.

Take care all and have a wonderful Tuesday....

Tammy - way to get back on track! It's easy for me also, especially when sweets are involved. And to indulge periodically is not that horrible, as long as you get back to healthy eating afterwards. I think that the key to success is to not completely deprive yourself, but to enjoy in moderation. If you try to completely deprive yourself of the foods that you enjoy, you are only setting yourself up to fail. Keep up the great work!

Diane - I am in the same boat as you are right now. Been hanging out between 162 and 165 for the last 6 months. I am so stressed right now about so many other things that as long as I am maintaining, I am not going to worry about it. I too, have been about 90%+ compliant, although last weekend, I really went off track, and was up to 167 yesterday. But I think a lot of that was fluid, as I am already back down today, after just one day of eating right. We need to have a big New Year's kickoff, to finally KICK OFF those last few pesky pounds!!
emoticon

Val - you continue to be in my prayers. I too, have had a rough 2014, and I am really looking forward to 2015!

Hope that everyone has a terrific Tuesday!

Back on track today and loving it! Don't know why I let certain things (like sweets at a family party) derail me as much as they do. I knew I'd be off track for Saturday and Sunday but had hoped to do better than I did. Oh well, looking forward and one totally compliant day under my belt. Goal is to remain compliant till Christmas eve.

Hope today was a good Monday for everyone!

Diane - I agree.... you have a great New Year's goal!

I am happy to be back home safely after a wonderful family weekend. Now to get back on track this week. That's my goal for the week. I think I have a lot of damage to undo after the past two days.

Tammy....it sounds like you had a wonderful day and I am sure a day or two of "off track" will not hurt your 17dd efforts at this point (because are so strong and compliant normally). Enjoy!

I am down to 146.2 again today! I have been weighing between 146 and 147.6 since return from wedding in October. My body seems to be "maintaining" this range if I stay 90%+ compliant. Still wanting to get to 140 but as I have said, I know it won't happen until I get past Christmas and travel back/forth to MN....then I intend to kick my activity level up and do what it takes to lose those last few pounds on my goal. A great New Year goal.

Keep on being strong everyone and wishing you a wonderful Sunday!

A planned off-track day for me. Back in my hometown to attend an engagement party for my cousin's daughter. Had a great time...but did indulge in a few glasses of wine and some sweets in addition to the more healthy dinner foods. Tomorrow holds more of the same...though I hope to be a little more conscientious than I was today. Enjoyed spending time with family. The newly engaged couple is delightful....they have been dating for 8 years, so we know the groom-to- be quite well. Both are sweet young folks...so nice to see these days.

Wow Val, what a year you've had. So many awful things to be dealing with. You sound like you are managing ok with it all - very strong of you. All the best for an awesome 2015 for you. Look forward to hearing more from you over the coming weeks.

Thank you for the welcome back although at first I had not really planned on being a "regular" again. But the more I thought about it I decided to be here more often if not daily.
Many of you may remember we had a rough start to the year. David has been in and out of jobs most of the year and his Dad died due to a tragic accident the day after Mother's Day. Not really sure when I was here last. But 6 weeks after my FIL's passing one of my brother's died 6 weeks later. He was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer and died less then a week after that. Was not expecting that to say the least. My blood pressure was back up so I had to go back on those meds. Also my blood glucose is up. An A1C of 6.4 in June 2013 to 7.8 in September 2014. My doctor did not change anything at first but a week ago I told her my readings had not changed much so she added another diabetes drug. It's really too early to tell but I think it is helping along with watching my diet. I did goof this week by eating too much deli meats so today I have had a lot of joint pain. Guess I will never learn! emoticon Also in October my beloved girl kitty died suddenly. She had never shown any signs of being sick. David and I just continue to heal. There are good days and bad days. It's a slow process having had several close family members to die within a 2 year period and dealing with his employment issues. But we are getting there. David has a new job that won't start until January so that is good news.
Well...that is a condensed version of 2014. Looking forward to a better 2015! emoticon

Chris – I forgot to answer your Methotrexate question. I am still taking it. I am scheduled to see my rheumatologist next week, weather permitting (he is 75 miles away).

Val – Glad to see you are still thinking of us. We think of you as well. Hope 2015 is a good year for you and yours. Merry Christmas too.

Diane – Your C2 – C3 – and some treat days sounds quite reasonable as we are in this holiday season. You have got this down pat!

Clare – Seeing your post made my day. I think it is great that you and your hubby are doing this together…just like Albando and his wife. You are doing great….enjoy the success. You are doing it!

Albando – I too feel much more energy when I am compliant and eating the healthy 17DD way. It does become a way of life.

I had a good day today…was almost too busy to eat properly. When that happens I get unreasonably hungry and am challenged to remain with my healthy choices….but today I managed ok…thank goodness for leftovers in the fridge as I would not have had time to cook today. Tomorrow promises to be just as busy, but I think I am adequately prepared.

emoticon Diane! And thank you for your kind words! I feel much better today... not going to let another person's actions keep me down!

Welcome Clare and good luck! You have come to the right place. This group is very supportive, and while it has been kind of quiet lately, I expect it will pick up with everyone's New Year's Resolutions! But for me, this is now a way of life, and I will never go back to my old habits, and unhealthy eating! I feel better, have more energy, am down to a size that I haven't worn since I was a teenager! So it's definitely worth it, and if I can do this, ANYONE can!!

Welcome back Val and Merry Christmas to you! I am sorry to hear that you have had such a rough year! I hope and pray that 2015 will bring you much joy and prosperity!

I'm off to a concert that I won tickets for, Trans Siberian Orchestra! I am super excited. Going with my daughters! Looking forward to a fun girls' night!

Have a great evening!

emoticon Welcome Clare, Val, Alband80.....and anyone else I may have missed! This 17dd thread is a great support to all of us wether we are starting C1, or doing C2, C3, or maintaining on the 17dd! Stop by often to report your ups, your downs and that is not just scale numbers. Some days I am stoked and other days discouraged....and I always feel better reading others posts and am inspired by their efforts.
One day at a time....it can be done... emoticon

Welcome to the team Clare,

My wife and I are both on the 17dd and it's been a good diet so far. Actuallly let me repharse that it's been a life change for both of us. We feel better eating health and have more energy. So please don't get discouraged if the weight doesn't come off really fast because it will come off.

With God all things are possible.

My husband and I are doing our first ever round of 17DD. He started a few days after me, he is on day 4, I am on day 8. So far I have lost 4.5kg which is around 10lb which is just amazing. Almost a quarter of what I wanted to lose gone in just a week!
My husband is enjoying the diet, although he's looking forward to protein powder and red meat again! He is delighted at how quickly his taste buds have adjusted to the lack of sugar.
We will both transition to cycle 2 at the same time (after my first 17 days) and I will be throwing in a transitional fasting day. Also a fasting day either side of christmas.
I've had two slip ups the past two days - yesterday was out for lunch and ordered some fish which had a mayonnaise type dressing on it. I scraped as much off as I could. Today I was out again and had a salad which had some sunflower seeds, beetroot and goji berries in it. All up - not horrific slip ups. If the weight keeps coming off I'll be happy :)
How is everyone else going today?

Chris.....you have certainly had an unusual and puzzling experience with that ex-mistress! What can she be thinking? She must not be a very caring or nice person to do something like that to you. You are one strong woman and I know you will not let it mess you up. Glad you have your faith to help you through the days ahead. One day at a time.

I, too, am going to maintain and not try to obsess over "losing" over the holidays ahead. Too much stress and likely no rewarding progress to be seen on the scale which might lead me to derail further? I am happy to be at my first goal within a lb or 2....and will strive to go down those extra 5 lbs starting in January. I, too, have been C2 or C3 almost every day with some occasional treat meals ever few days. So far it is working and it should continue as long as I keep strong!

Tammy....you are doing so great. Your compliant reports give me inspiration. Thanks for being here to encourage me!
We can all do this 17dd to lose and/or maintain.... emoticon emoticon

Tammy - I think you are spot on, and I am desperately trying not to let her get the better of me! Thanks for your kind words! Been listening to Joyce Meyer on a CD that a friend of mine just happened to give me on Sunday morning. God has worked such wonders in my life lately, and this is just another example of Him giving me what I need at the moment I need it. One quote that she said today as I was listening, is also posted on my wall at work. "Satan won't know what to do with you if you REFUSE to let others make you unhappy!" Gonna keep saying that over and over and over until it REALLY sinks in!

Thanks again! So glad to have you and my other Sparkfriends on this team! You are such a blessing!

Chris - Oh good grief...that ex-mistress is a pain in the a#%....Sounds like she is trying to sabotage your reconciliation. I can certainly understand how that would be beyond unsettling! You are a strong intelligent lady....I know you will work through this in a way that is right for you. Maintenance for now is a wise move. I have been maintaining for far too long. I will still continue to try to see the number on the scale go down...but if I am able to maintain over the holidays I will be more than pleased.

I am having a great 17DD day. I am totally compliant again today, with the rest of my food planned for today. I just finished an egg white and broccoli omelet for lunch. Yummy! I have come to realize how this diet is just part of my way of life now...as evidenced by the food in my cupboards, fridge, and shopping cart. I still have some non-compliant treats here for DS....which do me in sometimes when I "stray" but overall I am eating so much healthier than ever before.

Happy Hump Day to All!

Alblando - emoticon forward! You are doing great!

Tammy - way to get back on track. Sorry that you are having some autoimmune issues again! Hope that you can get some relief! Did you end up stopping the methotrexate? I know that you had thought about that at one point. I am still on that, and it does seem to help quite a bit. I still have the occasional flare-up usually brought on by stress, but I seem to be doing very well right now.

I have had a very roller coaster week! Yesterday, was a great day, was feeling really good about my reconciliation progress. Then today, I get hit with a friend request on Facebook from my husband's ex-mistress. It really threw me off, and my emotions went into a tailspin! This has really been a rough 6 months, and I am still struggling with a lot of stuff. But I have really tried to stay true to this diet, and while I have strayed slightly, I feel that I have done fairly well, and am actually still down 4 pounds from where I was 6 months ago. I have decided to pretty much throw in the towel right now as far as losing these last 5 pounds. I am going to do maintenance until after the holidays, cause I don't need the added stress of trying to lose 5 pounds with all the temptations over the next few weeks. I will follow C2/C3 during the weekdays as much as possible, and then eat sensibly at parties and other events that I will be attending.

Let's keep pushing through this holiday season! I know that we can do this, if we stick together!

Alblando - Your determination and this diet is a powerful combination! Stick with it and keep the book handy. I refer to mine quite often even after being familiar with this diet for some time. I think it is great that you and your wife are doing this together. That should make it much more reasonable for both of you.

I had another on track day and feel so very good about it. There is a huge difference in how I function when I eat compliant foods vs. when I "stray" so to speak. My body responds very favorably to the 17 DD foods...even when I don't see the expected results at the scale. I am beginning to think that this time around I will lose at a slower rate than before, and I suspect the meds I take for my lupus and RA might have something to do with this.

I hope this has been a terrific Tuesday for everyone. Hump day tomorrow! Woo hoo! I love Hump Day even though I am retired!

TAMMYAND, Thank you for the words of advice this is my first time around so I'll just keep on moving forward with the plan. It just seems that it's easier to add the weight and it happened so fast. Just a little bit of indulgence and there it was. Oh well I'm determined to lose this weight and will get back to eating the right way. Again thank you for your kind words and good luck on the remodel. Have a great day.

Alblando – I understand that you’d want to go back to C1 after a few off track days, but, if this is your first round of the 17DD, it is strongly recommended that you continue on your cycle till you have gone through all of C1, C2, ad C3. Your gain might be due to some sodium you ate, digestion, etc. And after all, on C2 you are doing a C1 day every other day. It was told to me early on that if we waited for 17 totally compliant days of C1, we would never move out of C1. Life happens. None of us are perfect. So consider keeping up with your cycle as delineated in the book. After you’ve been through one complete round of C1, C2, and C3, a little modification of the cycles is likely to happen naturally. Just my 2 cents worth.

Diane – You are doing so well…..very impressive. Thanks for the good wishes. I am slightly improved today. I actually slept for 4 hours straight without waking up which is very good for me under these circumstances. G has made significant progress in the bathroom. The toilet, vanity, and shower are all in. He also installed the shelves in the closet. The tile floor and painting has been done for a while now. He is currently working on the molding. He still needs to install a new closet door and a door between the bathroom and the laundry room. Still also must do the towel racks etc. I am pleased and impressed with his progress…and with the choices I made in terms of paint, tile, vanity, etc. I think it looks great.

I must say that just as it is easy to get off track, it is easy for me to get right back on track. I am back on tract today after 2 significantly off track days. I feel so much better when I am eating the healthy foods on this diet. I got my walking in today but am quite tired now. So healthy eating and exercise = compliance. Still struggling with my skin problems. I see the dermatologist a week from today. I plan to be much better by then.

Here’s to a great Tuesday for all of us.

Good morning everyone, had a rough two days and I've gained back 3 lbs. Not discouraged just mad at myself for being weak and eating carbs late at night. They tasted good but I won't be doing that again. Gonna get right back on track and do a couple of cycle 1 days to restart the weight loss. Have a great day.

Down a bit to 146.6....just keep in' on 90%+ compliant...a slip (treat) every few days....but have not let myself slip off the 17dd....get right back to it. Likely not to lose until after Christmas but will try not to gain either! One day at a time.

Did not feel well today....not that that is a good excuse....but it is the truth...just ate whatever I felt like....not horrible but not a C - anything. My skin problems are flaring again...very painful and annoying.

Looking forward to a better day tomorrow.

emoticon emoticon Chris and Tammy.....you are keeping me motivated to keep on keep'n on....even though the scale has not budged downward one iota. I have not been doing C1 but am close to doing that because I am not getting anyplace on C2 with a few C3 days thrown in. Think I have gotten lazy because I am so close to goal.....just when I need to buckle down instead!!

Life has been very busy for me lately. Remodel is officially done today after touch up painting completed (finally). Now I can gear up for our trip back to MN for Christmas. Time is flying by....have a good evening all...

Chris - Yay for you C2 and all that walking & stair climbing too. You will get rid of those 3 pounds lickety split!

I am on track today and feeling good. I walked at a different than usual store today. I had to go to a hardware store in a neighboring town so I grabbed a cart and walked there rather than going to the supermarket or Lowe's. Later today I am going to do more walking at CVS. I was worried this morning because I felt my motivation was decreasing and I was feeling tempted to go off plan but once again I was too busy to do so. So I drank my lemon water and then took a cup of coffee with me as I went out the door....didn't even have time for breakfast but that was ok. I didn't want to grab something I'd regret later. By the time I got home from the hardware store, my motivation returned. I ate an orange and felt full. I will soon make an egg white omelet with mushrooms and broccoli which I know will fill me up.

Had a death in the family this morning, a cousin in Texas....age 69. He had been ill for a number of years but the past 10 weeks have been really tough as he has been hospitalized all that time. I saw him in April when I visited Texas and all things considered he was doing ok. He started having problems again in September and just never came home from the hospital. My DS and I will not be going to TX for the funeral as DS has finals (he goes to college part time), and I don't want to go without him...plus I think airlines no longer give bereavement discounts so flying would be expensive, plus I don't like to travel in this weather....deicing planes always concerns me. I will be as supportive for the family as much as I can from afar.

Chris - Thanks so much for the insight. I am going to switch to C2 today and see how that goes for me for a while. I appreciate your understanding and comments.

SPSTOKES - Pulling for you to get to your weight so that you can not pay at WW. You will do it.

I am doing fine today and am happy to have a day at home (I am always happy at home!). I always have such a sense of accomplishment when I get some housework done. I must strike while I have the energy!

Tammy - sorry the emoticon did not register what you were hoping for, but so proud of you for not letting it get you down and derail you! emoticon

I know that you know this, but sometimes it's good to hear anyway! The scale is definitely not the best reflector of how well you are doing with this diet. I am sure that you feel so much better, especially knowing you have all those compliant days behind you! I rarely do C1 any more for more than 4 or 5 days, just because it seems that I just don't get enough calories and I don't lose the weight that I used to when I first started this diet. I definitely do better on C2, when I vary the calorie intake daily. Now, if I could just stay compliant, as you have, I would be able to reach and stay at my elusive 160 goal weight! Following your enthusiasm, I am going to start today! C2D1

Hope everyone is doing well!

My compliance streak continues today....but I made the mistake of stepping on the scale this morning because I felt great and truly expected a loss....nope....big disappointment. I was concerned because often a no results weigh in could send me to a big cheat day...but not today...first, I was too busy to cheat.....second, I really don't have anything in the house that I would want to cheat with...so I stayed compliant and will keep on trucking...but really it is very frustrating for me.....and so it goes.

June - congrats! You are well on your way to your Christmas goal!

Diane - you are doing so well, you'll have that Thanksgiving gain off in no time!

Tammy - Keep pushing! You're on a roll with your streak! Your motivation is keeping me going strong!

I am down 1.6 pounds since Sunday and am going to work out with a friend tonight. Went to lunch with my husband. It was a buffet and I was doing well, until I hit the desserts, and then BLAM! I should have stuck with the 3 bite rule, but that bread pudding just tasted so good, and before I knew it, I had eaten the whole thing. My mistake was letting my husband get it for me. I would have taken a much smaller piece. Oh well, time to stop beating myself up over it and move forward. Going to work out hard this evening and stay on track for the rest of the day.

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday! We miss some of our regulars who used to post here regularly and hope that you are all doing well this holiday season!

June...congrats on the 2.2 lbs! I know you will lose those 5 lbs before Christmas!

Weighed in at 147.6 today (was 146 before holiday). Will do my best to work that 1.6 gain off in the next week and keep on from there.

emoticon Tammy & June, I, too, want to lose more a couple more lbs before Christmas (and holiday eating again, yikes)! Tammy ...great streak you have going! One day at a time. We can do this!

June - Congrats on the 2.2 pound loss....fabulous! Don't know if you had eggs on hand...but if you did you could have had eggs for breakfast....I always keep a carton of egg whites on hand just for that reason....if all else fails I know the egg whites are there for me....for any meal.

Today is my 5th consecutive compliant day so far (C1D5) and I am still feeling good and highly motivated. I think having the Dec. 13 festivities in mind is helping me when I am tempted. And who knows....if it snows we won't go to the party (it is about 75 miles away) so then I have no excuse for going off track.

All the best to everyone! We can do it!

I weighed myself this morning and the scale was 2.2lbs lighter than yesterday even after all I ate. I must have really been retaining a lot of water from the party I went to Saturday night.

I didn't prep well for today so I had nothing for breakfast but cereal. I decided to eat a bowl of Cheerios instead of not having much at all. I think that was a not so bad alternative. I plan on sticking to the diet the rest of the day!

Chris - I admire folks like you who step on the scale every day. I am not that strong...I usually step on the scale only when I am expecting a loss. Weighing in after a holiday meal is a brave step and a good way to have a reality check.

I am still doing fine on C1, now D4. No food challenges on the horizon till Dec. 13. I have a Christmas party on Dec. 6 but probably will skip that one. Another good thing for me is that I have been keeping up with my exercise and/or walking. Today I had to go to Lowe's with G who is remodeling our basement bathroom (in a very long drawn out process...but excellent work and extremely affordable costs...so I will try to not complain too much about him). Anyway, while at Lowe's I did my walking the cart to support my knee. I did well and can get up some speed as long as I can hold on to the cart.

Happy December friends!

Welcome Back JUNEE66! Keep us posted as to your progress. I know that when I am struggling, posting here really helps to keep me accountable and to stay motivated to try harder.

Tammy - emoticon ! You are my inspiration right now, getting back to C1 so quickly after the holiday. You are emoticon

Diane - you sound like your holiday was a lot like mine. I gained a couple of pounds, and am not that worried about getting it back off quickly by getting back on track today! Let's get to it!

I had good intentions, but just couldn't follow through on my plan. Even though I didn't bring home any leftovers, I still ended up eating out way too much over the weekend. I did step on the scale each day, and surprisingly only gained 2 pounds since last week. But that does put me back up to 5 pounds from my goal weight, which I had actually hit a couple of weeks ago. I think that stress has had a role in my weight gain as well, and I am doing my best to cope with that right now. Going to add some more exercise into my routine, as that has been way too sporadic lately. I need to get back on a regular exercise schedule. Plus, I know that my water intake was no where near where it needed to be over the long weekend. Being back at work helps me to stay on track better with that as well.

Hope that everyone has a great week!

I'm back. I lost my motivation and fell off the diet. I had been doing so good too until my nephews wedding.

Today I am starting cycle 1 again. Hoping to lose 5 lbs before Christmas.

Hope everyone is going well.

Thanks Diane. So nice that you got so spend quality time with the newlyweds!! Like you, I don't weigh in if I think it will discourage me.

I did great at the hockey game....only had a bottle of water, nothing else. Totally compliant today so this is C1D3 and another success. I am fairly well stocked with protein and veggies as well as lemons and green tea so this week should be just fine. Not sure when I will actually weigh in as despite 3 totally compliant days I am feeling very fat....can that Thanksgiving meal still be taking its toll?? My motivation is high right now so I am trying to make the most of it!

Here comes December......just a few hours away. Let's make it a great month!

emoticon Tammy....you handled this holiday so well! Sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Hope everyone did!

I am not compliant and will not be until tomorrow! I was up a couple lbs this morning due to ham and other high sodium foods on Thursday. I have decided to not weigh again until sometime next week when I feel my water weight is gone. No use in discouraging myself over a temporary issue. I plan tomorrow to get on my normal 17dd healthy eating plan. Even if I gained weight, it was worth the extra effort it may take to work it off again, lol. Only once a year splurge and so fun to share this holiday with the newlyweds!

They are packing now and we will be driving them to the airport in a few minutes...miss them already! Goodnight all...

Another compliant C1 day and doing well. Crossing my fingers that I can sustain this compliance when at a minor league hockey game tonight. It will be a challenge but one that I am up for.

Hope everyone is doing well this holiday weekend!

Back on C1 as of today. Hoping to stay on C1 for close to 17 days as I need it very much. It feels good to be eating healthy again.
On Dec. 13, I have a 60th bday party to go to for a good friend, then that evening I am going to an engagement party for my cousin's daughter. Will stay overnight in that area as it will be too late to drive home. So my goal is TOTAL compliance between now and Dec. 13. Wish me luck!!!

DS and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with our friends. Next year dinner will be at my house which I like a little better even though it is more work. I didn't over stuff myself with anything, but I did eat foods my body is not used to and doesn't do well with....stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and cranberry-cherry pie. We had some apple cider before dinner and wine with dinner. The social aspect of sharing time with these dear friends was great as always. We all celebrated the many blessings in our lives.

Hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving as well.

Erosa11 – Chris and Diane are right in my opinion. I echo their responses. Everyone loses at different rates. If you don’t have a lot to lose you will lose less than someone who has much more to lose. Our metabolisms are all different to some degree, but the 17DD is a diet that works. I know for me, I tend to get sloppy with it, even though I know better. When I get sloppy and careless my weight loss suffers. I applaud you for your determination. See what C2 brings your way…stick to the plan in the book…and check in here with us. Group support helps a lot too. Glad to have you with us!

I had a wonderful day at home all day due to the nor’easter that brought us about 5 or 6 inches. I can handle the snow when I don’t have to go anywhere. Most of my prep for tomorrow is done. I’m tired and heading for bed.
Healthy gobbling to all of us tomorrow!

Erosa...everything Chris said is right on with my experience. If you have been eating very close to 17dd before you started and already exercising it is harder to "change" enough to make a faster weight loss. For instance I have been taking skin off my chicken for almost 40 yrs now and only eating light meat...DH will only eat dark meat and just started taking skin off (he used to eat mine off my plate, lol). That's just one example, he has a bunch of things that would be altered if he did 17dd, including lots of snacking habits....so if he stuck to plan, he would lose faster than I am able to.....especially since I have been following this 17dd for a long time and am near my goal.

Also, depending on your age and meds you may be taking....those things effect metabolism and are out of our control. I am older and lose much slower due to that and my heart meds. One day at a time. The 17dd does work if you are consistent with it.....it works very quickly for some, especially for people on it the first time and if changing several previously bad eating choices.

Good luck to you....please do check in often and let us know more about you and how you are doing!

Erosa - while I myself did not have results like that on the first round, I do believe that there have been others that have. A lot depends on how much you are looking to lose, what your diet was like before you started, your body type, etc. I do know that on subsequent rounds, when I had less weight to lose, it came off much slower, and it was not unusual for me to only lose 2 pounds during cycle 1. Way to get back to it. You may see more results in cycle 2, when you add back some carbs. Now that I am closer to my goal, I actually do better on cycle 2 or 3. Keep us posted!

Diane - You sure have a lot going on! I think it is wonderful that your sister will be with you in February. Bless her....she sure has been through a lot! You two are lucky to have each other!

We are awaiting a nor'easter coming our way starting tomorrow morning. Right now predictions are for 6 to 10 inches....but the meteorologists always say...those amounts could change depending on the exact track of the storm... So who knows what we will actually get. I did all of my running around yesterday and some today so I should not have to go anywhere tomorrow as far as I can tell. Plenty to do here at home...not complaining as long as we are safe and warm.

I am looking forward to a wonderful Thanksgiving and wish the same for everyone. Let's keep in my what we are really celebrating....We all have so much to be thankful for. I am thankful for, among other things, my wonderful spark friends! Bless you all!

Wow....less than a month from Christmas Eve....yikes! I will need to get into gear right after Thanksgiving. We fly back to MN and have dentist appts and visits with family in other towns etc....and hosting brunch at our place on 24th. It is up in the air as to exact plans for 25th. As you said, Tammy, the time will fly by! The new year looks busy, too.

We may have some friends staying with us in Jan but it is up in the air at this point. In February we have guests arriving for the first week and the day they depart, my sister and her SO arrive staying 3 weeks. She has had a tough couple winters (Jan 2013: cancer and mastectomy) and Jan 2014 metatarsal pan resection (serious foot surgery due to RA which almost became an amputation). No vacations those two years due to using all her PTO days for surgeries and treatments. Sis just turned 65 and finally retired and is taking a much deserved break from winter in MN and spending some time with us. We are so looking forward to it!

I had to exit because an advertising Popup was covering most of this window.....hate when that happens and I can't get rid of it! It's gone now after reconnecting. My weight is holding so we will see what happens with guests arriving tomorrow through Sunday for Thanksgiving. Sure to be some wine involved....LOL.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!! Hope everyone is able to enjoy eating some of the foods special to us during the holidays and we can all get back on track after.... emoticon

Chris – Good for you for being able to leave the left overs behind at your DD’s. We have Thanksgiving with dear friends and have done so for more years than I can count. We alternate homes and this is we are going there. I will take some appetizers and side dishes, while the turkey and desserts will be prepared by our hostess. Our loving and gracious hostess always sends leftovers home with us for my DS. So I will have to be super vigilant with what we bring home.

Diane – I’m sure you will do your best as we approach Thanksgiving. Hope that UTI has gone bye-bye! Drinking water is so important in so many ways for us. That is one area I have never had problems with.

I was borderline on track today (had one blip so to speak) but feel good. I walked and walked and walked today in the grocery store and in Michael’s, so I am hoping that my blip was erased by the extra walking. I will be out and about tomorrow again so walking shouldn’t be a problem. A Nor’easter is headed our way with predictions for 6 to 10 inches of snow on Wednesday. I sure hope it misses us and goes out to sea!

One month from tonight is Christmas Eve friends. Time will fly by between now and then.
Have a great Tuesday!

Chris...good planning on the C1 prior to Thanksgiving.....I hope to do mostly C1 also but today we will be out running errands and shopping most of the day so am not going to be able to plan ahead about lunch. Some things out of my control when I am with DH....and that's a good thing, LOL.

I just finished my antibiotics for UTI so am very aware of water and trying to drink enough.....it is a struggle for me. Consequences such as severe UTI (as I am aging) make it vital to force myself to drink more!

Tammy.....so sorry your remodel is taking a long time to complete. I had about all of it I could take in the 4 weeks of ours. Will be happy when the last touch ups are done next week! Certain you will be very glad you did it when it is finished!

Up a couple of pounds after a weekend of eating out and not drinking enough water. emoticon
I am also looking at doing 3 solid days of C1, so I can have a few indulgences on Thanksgiving. I won't have to worry about leftovers, as our family dinner will be at my DD's house. Also going to exercise each day this week, even if it is only for 10 minutes!
Let's get to it team!

Diane - What a great place you are at....holding your weight for a week and only a few more pounds that you could lose but already kind of where you want to be....a big woo hoo for you! And how cool that you are using the new bathroom already. Mine is a joke....it's painted and maybe about 10 tiles down...period. I don't even know if G is coming tomorrow or not. He will probably call in the morning.

I am totally compliant again today and am doing a C1 day because I need it. I am going to try to do C1 till Thanksgiving...or at least till Tuesday. I will be cooking some things on Wednesday which also means tasting so I don't think I will be very compliant for Wednesday and Thursday. I am aiming for moderation on those 2 days. Friday will be a ? for me but I will try for C2 compliance. We have a baptism to go to Saturday and then a minor league hockey game Saturday night....neither of those events will be easy in terms of food but I am prepared to make the best choices possible.

Good evening to all!

146 yesterday and 146.2 again today....that's a week at this lower weight emoticon
Glad everyone is holding and keeping strong on 17dd....even if that means "maintenance" which is awesome!

I feel like I am in maintenance mode too right now and will hit C1 and C2 again after Thanksgiving. I am only 1 elusive pound from my original 145 goal....and although I will keep doing 17dd I don't have a burning need to lose more than about 6 more lbs....my clothes look and fit well on me and that extra 5 or so will be just right for me. Also, right after living with this remodel it's just too hard to do C1 over the holidays when we have guests staying Wed-Sunday. Final completion of remodel odds/ends should be the week after the holiday. We are using the new bath now!!

I practiced with my new popover pan this a.m.....and actually got awesome results. The first attempt last fall was a dismal failure...no "pop" at all and inedible. Not C1 compliant but with honey they are delicious and a treat I want to make for our son and new bride while they are here.

Tammy, 17dd (or any diet) struggles are normal and "moving on" and getting back on track like you did is wonderful. That's how you will maintain your weight losses to this point.....and, yes, eating cleaner does feel good! emoticon

Spstokes - C3 was basically maintenance for me too. I find it to be a difficult cycle but try to go by the book as they say. Like you I am very happy eating cleaner and feeling so much better when I do.

I had a great compliant day today and appreciate the feeling that goes with such a day, especially since I struggle yesterday. It is rare for me to have such a rough day as yesterday but I had no problem moving on today and doing well.

Let's have a great Sunday everyone!

D17:C3 round 2. Two lbs from goal for the last two weeks. C3 may as well be maintenance for me. I didn't lose any weight during C3 the first round. I'll probably do C2 again instead of going back to C1 the week of Thanksgiving. 😫

I'm still very happy with this new cleaner way of eating and the discoveries I've made about myself during this process.

Here's to shedding a few more! TGIF everyone!

Diane - Sounds like things are moving right along with your remodel! I am a little frustrated with G this week as he worked only about 7 hours at the most with very little to show for it in my opinion. I asked him to not come Wednesday because of other things I had going on. Then he didn't come yesterday because he was bitten by a feral cat (his girlfriend feeds them) on Wednesday evening and had to go to the ER and get rabies shots etc. He told me he would be here today but he didn't call and didn't show. When he's here his work is great which is the saving grace in all of this. By the way I loved your flushing poem....never heard of it....but won't forget it now! Thanks.

I am in a semi-grumpy mood today, even though our water is back on. Yes the water came back on during the night. First it was very dirty but now seems ok. The water main break was less than a mile from here. The break then caused a sink hole which required evacuating folks in that neighborhood. The sink hole also swallowed up a power company truck. Thank God the driver wasn't injured. Folks in the sink hole area have been allowed back in their homes. But they don't have gas which is bad if that is how they heat their homes (we heat ours with natural gas). But the reason I am a bit grumpy is because I caved today and ate off plan. Not sure why but I woke up extremely hungry, true hunger I think. So I overdosed on eggs and added an English muffin (something I almost never eat). I also had a few of the cookies my DS's Godmother sent him weeks ago. Now I feel awful but plan to finish the day with healthy foods.

Tammy....ouch with the water...hope it is repaired soon....been there and it is no fun! Ours was caused by frozen pipe from street to our house last winter. Lucky for us we got some buckets of water from a neighbor so we could "flush". Still we followed the maximum "if its yellow let it mellow, if brown flush it down", LOL. That was a sign posted in a county courthouse bathroom in Wisconsin in 1993....I am all for saving water but in a public bathroom that's government taking the "green" approach a bit far in my book.

Chris....one night of pizza will give that sodium gain but you will work it off within a day or two. I have been so busy with remodel that I have forgotten to weigh the last two days. Yikes. Will start getting back to normal tomorrow.

Workers here until almost 8:00 last night and we are seeing the light at end of tunnel. We have a working toilet, shower and one faucet/sink. The other faucet was defective from mfg and leaked so it had to be replaced. Good news is we got replacement this morning and it may even be installed today if plumber is not already overbooked.

We have some minor things like hanging mirrors, putting up towel rings, painting some trim, fixing minor wall damage from installation of cabinets & counters (saved our 15 yr old cherry cabinets...not "like new" but in very good condition). It is looking great!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Chris - Sounds like a great evening having a Thanksgiving meal at church. You will do fine even if you stray a bit from plan. At this time of year, maintaining is a success in my book.

We lost our water today around 5 pm. Luckily I cooked dinner early today. But cannot do dishes. I called the water company. They said there is a big water main break, big based on the number of people impacted, but as of 6 pm when I called they didn't even know where the break is! Will brush teeth with bottled water. Cannot shower and should not run water as it might bring dirt into the water line. Ugh! Luckily we have bottled water on hand, and even old 2 liter bottles filled with water which is what we are using to flush. I have had these old bottles filled with water on hand for years, just in case I needed them to flush. This is the first time I have ever had to use them but sure am glad I have them.

I had another wonderful day eating on plan and getting in my exercise. So, other than the water problem, had a good day.

Thanks Tammy! I am back up a little today, but I am not surprised, or worried. Had pizza for dinner last night, and even though I tried to be smart about it, I am sure it was packed with sodium. I did exercise last night after work, which is something I haven't done in a very long time, so that is a plus! My challenge will come tonight, at my small group from church. We are having a Thanksgiving meal, and that is always a challenge for me. Going to walk today at lunch, to try to compensate for the extra calories.

Chris - Wow....so close to goal!!! You are rockin'!

I'm on track again today. Did my walking at the grocery store, holding on to the cart for support. Had a busy day and accomplished a lot. Got our van winterized, tires rotated, and oil changed. Then I grocery shopped and ran a bunch of errands. So I felt like I accomplished a lot today!

Hope everyone is sparking right along!

Tammy - thanks so much! Right now, I am just taking things one day at a time and leaving a lot to God! Prayers are always welcome!

Diane - hope that you are feeling better today! I can totally relate to how illness can affect your weight. With all my autoimmune issues, when I am having a flare, it is much harder for me to stay on track, even though I know that is even more critical at those times. But when you can't exercise, you start getting down and before you know it, wham! you've gained! I am more confident now than ever that the next time I have a flare (and I know there will be many more of those to come) that I will at least stay on track with food. The food from this diet really helps with my inflammation and pain.

So I am 0.8 from my goal weight today! emoticon emoticon

That is the 2nd time this week that I have hit that mark, so I am more determined than ever to get to that ever elusive 160 mark!

Happy Hump Day everyone!

Chris – Woo Hoo on our walking! I cannot even begin to imagine what you are going through in the “to reconcile or not” decision process. I remember how devastated you were when you two split up. I know you won’t make a decision in either direction lightly. You know your spark friends are here to support whatever decision you make.

Diane – Glad you are getting some relief from the UTI. Hope your tummy is getting better too. I can understand how when you had your heart inflammation you gained weight. Sometimes a person can manage only so much at any given time. I am glad you are at a healthy happy weight again, and I am glad you are here with us on this team!

I am having a great compliant day today. Eating on track and ran to Lowe’s with G again so I got in my extra walking while he meandered in the departments that had the stuff he needed to pick up to keep going with the bathroom remodel.
Yesterday I saw part of a Dr. Oz show. I must admit I seldom watch him, but when I stumbled on the show, the topic of “cravings” reeled me right in. Dr. Oz had a nutritionist on to discuss what might be underlying some of the food cravings we have and how to handle them. Here is what I took away from it: A craving for sweets could indicate a low energy level. Instead of eating a processed sweet like a cookie or cake, have a piece of fruit along with a fat and a protein. The nutritionist suggested having a pear with low fat ricotta cheese (sweetened with stevia I think) and topped with walnuts or pecans (can’t remember but I know it was a nut). Chocolate cravings suggest a need for magnesium and magnesium helps turn down a stress response. The nutritionist suggested chocolate covered almonds (yum) or chocolate covered sunflower seeds (never heard of them but I bet they are good). They also said that the chocolate should be at least 65% cacao in order for it to have the magnesium we need. I found this interesting as I have been taking a magnesium supplement for some time because I read that Mg can support heart health. Cravings for doughy carbs (think bagel) could indicate a need to raise serotonin. The suggestion was to have something with Omega 3s and slow carbs…like toasted edamame and something else (can’t remember). Salty cravings could indicate dehydration. That one surprised me a lot. They recommended celery because it contains salt and suggested something else with the celery (again, sorry I forget). They moved pretty fast through all of this. So something to think about when we have our cravings and some ideas that could help us stay on track. Oh, one more thing….the nutritionist referred to bad carbs as “carbage” which rhymes with garbage. I’m adding that word to my vocabulary.

Have a great day everyone!

Tammy...glad your painted wall color was easy to pick out. So many choices! Ours was easy, too. I brought home 1 sample to put on the wall and we both liked it....but over a few days looking at it I felt it was too "brassy" leaning towards orange-gold....so went back and got a sample of the swatch next to it and it was perfect. Looks great on the walls.

You are right not to obsess about one meal or one or 2 days "not totally compliant". During maintenance that is what it tells you to do....have anything you want for some meals but stay on track the rest of the week....your scale becomes your guide, etc....if a person lets an off day defeat them...it can be all down hill from there. One day will not derail weeks of dieting efforts unless we let it. When I had my heart inflammation, I felt so sick...I just gave up....quit weighing (and quit being accountable) that's when I gained back my weight. Months later I had to live with the extra weight. This time I want to be stronger and hope I have learned a valuable lesson.

On top of tummy illness I came down with full blown UTI and was at urgent clinic yesterday. Such discomfort! In one word, terrible. Thank goodness for antibiotics and pyridium. Today I can actually function.

Electrician supposed to be here after 1:00 so need to run my quick errands now. Keep on keeping on everyone....have a wonderful 17dd day!

Diane and Tammy - thanks for the kind words and prayers. It has been a crazy, roller coaster of emotions the last several days. I am very encouraged and hopeful, after receiving a very heartfelt letter from my husband. Time will tell, and I am going to be extremely cautious as I proceed towards reconciliation, but a few weeks ago, I didn't even think this was a possibility.

Tammy - sorry for your loss! emoticon And I so know what you mean about how easy it is to get back on track now. Many times, I feel so terrible physically now, after overindulging in something that I shouldn't have, that I also think twice, even three times, before doing that again!

Diane - sorry to hear about your stomach bug! Hope you feel better soon. That has been going around here, as well as a nasty cold. Pretty much everyone in my family has had the cold, and I have been extra vigilant about taking care of myself so I would not get it. So far, so good! emoticon

I am back on track today as well, after last night's splurge of a Quarter Pounder from McD's! I have been avoiding beef for the last several weeks, because of my cholesterol screening, and last night had a severe craving for it. My iron usually runs low, and usually when I have a craving that badly, I usually go with it because I figure my body needs the extra iron. I didn't get cheese on it, and didn't get anything else, so I felt pretty good about my choice. To me, this diet is all about making healthier choices than I would have previously. For instance, before, I would probably have gotten a McRib (which doesn't even sound appealing to me any more!), fries and a shake! I don't think that I could even eat that much food now!

Hope that you all have a great week!

Diane - Woo Hoo on your smiling scale! But sorry you have a tummy bug. Be careful not to get dehydrated. Great that your remodel is moving along so well. G painted the bathroom on Friday and started tiling the floor today. I am pleased with the paint color. Choosing a paint color is always a tough one for me but this time it was easy. One color immediately jumped out at me when I was coordinating the paint samples with the floor tile I had already chosen.

I did not eat on plan on Saturday or Sunday due to the funeral for my friend's father on Sunday and an all day church event at another friend's church on Sunday. I made mostly healthy choices but definitely had way more carbs than I am accustomed to. I did not feel well last night, and I think it was my body telling me to get back on track....which is exactly what I did today. I also drank lots of water to flush out the sodium I consumed in all the catered food from the weekend. I must say I am amazed at how easy it is for me sometimes to get right back on track, not always, but most often I can get right back on track. So for me today was a great day!

Hope everyone else had a great day too!
