Hope you are feeling better, Tammy...lots of fluids and zinc! Chicken soup they say too!

Only down .2 of lb so my number is still 163.4, darn! So that 1 lb gain was not just the sodium!

Looking back over last 3 weeks...and being honest with myself (and here).... I have been allowing myself to eat some bread & pasta carbs every so often and need to stop it! I will keep using the scale as it keeps me honest and I know since my Mexican vacation I have been off the rails every so often. My treats there have triggered my carb addiction again and I have caved (as in buying cookies I then had to give away)...should never have bought them but they called to me and that is all it took. Sometimes staying on track is just not easy!!

Believe my long plateau with no significant weight loss has also been wearing away at my resistance? With Christmas it will be tough but Planning to get through it and keep mostly on track....and not gain anymore! I intend to head in the downward trend on the scale again! One day and one choice at a time.

I did do gym but knee acted up so skipped yesterday...am planning to go again today after lunch. Sometimes I need to have a day between and right now that is true. Also, my wrist pain has been getting progressively worse and to the point, I may decide to seek treatment which will likely mean a surgery after Christmas?

Off to a good start today. Now fighting off a cold I think I caught from DS. Not very hungry but also energy level is low, which it hasn't been in quite a while. Will take it easy today I think.

Happy Hump Day!

Diane - Yes, I think sodium has a lot to do with my weight gain. I know Chinese food always makes me go up too. Hope you are up to going to the gym! Just don't over do it! Our roads are clear now, but we still have snow on grassy and untreated surfaces. The sunshine today is helping and our temp is around 40, so that is good. I have never liked snow/ice/winter weather, but like you, the older I get the more it bothers me.

I am staying away from the scale for a few days, so I don't get discouraged. A friend stopped by yesterday and brought us some food from our old church's festival...yes, more carbs. Today I am completely back on track and very motivated because I got my blood test results and everything is in the normal range. My A1C is 5.3 which is very good and, according to the print out "is consistent with decreased risk of diabetes." I have never been diabetic, but I am always conscious of the possibility because my father and paternal grandmother were diabetic. So I think my long-term healthy eating plan is paying off, at least in this way. My potassium is 3.6 (normal range is 3.5 -5.3) so I am not sure if that has any implications for my heart issues. I am taking the potassium supplement the cardiologist prescribed, but the blood was drawn before I started on the potassium.

Let's all have a great week!

Sorry to hear about all the snow....and not looking forward to heading back to MN on Saturday and dealing with it again over Christmas! The older I get the less I seem to like it, lol!

Sorry too Tammy....you are up a lb but likely just the sodium??? I am up a lb today also...maybe those cookies catching up to me or the Chinese food I had for lunch yesterday...and I was not careful there...ate too much and it was loaded with flavor and likely sodium too! Thinking to head to gym today and try to work some of it out of my system with sweating etc and then drink lots of water today...One of my downfalls is not drinking enough through the day! Still achy but think now this is my usual achy...my hips and knees well hard to know as they always hurt (some). If I sit around thinking about it much longer I will never get out the door, lol...wish me luck!

So far so good today...weight is still up...ugh!

We got over 6 inches of snow yesterday...many accidents on the roads....roads still bad this morning so I stayed home from church, plus DS is still not feeling well but is better than he has been over the past few days.

Weight is up a little over a pound today....perhaps from the sodium in yesterday's indulgences. Back on track today. Snowing all day here, winter weather advisory for this evening. So glad to be safe at home. Oh, and laundry is done! Woo Hoo!

Way to go Diane, getting rid of the temptation and getting back on track.Glad your knees feel better.

I had a great time at my old church today. I have so many friends there, and it is always good to see them.I did indulge in the high carb foods, but did not over do it. Most of the foods are food from my childhood (Eastern European ethic stuff that I just love and seldom, if ever, have at home because of the high carbs). So I ate lightly before going, had what I wanted while there, and brought some home for DS. I am mostly satisfied now, and won't eat the food for DS unless there are some "leftovers" which I doubt.

Snow is predicted for here for tomorrow, so I expect to stick close to home and take care of laundry, etc. that I have been avoiding. I have some Christmas decorating done. Luckily the outside stuff is all done. Maybe tomorrow I will do some inside decorating, but not the tree yet. We have an artificial tree but I think I will wait till next weekend to take care of that. emoticon

We had friends we had not seen for a while for dinner and I ate Hersey’s Almond Joy cookie (purchased from store bakery) for dessert and then had another for bedtime treat and another for breakfast! YIKES!! Put the rest into a bag for the garbage and took it right outside....where I then met up with my neighbor and gifted her with them!! Whew...that was a close call. I will not be able to buy those again any year soon, lol! Warning, they are just too addicting.

Good news is rest of my day was on track except the wine with dinner and my weight did not change because of my indulging. My hip joints are still sore, my knees almost as good as they get but the bones in my feet are still sore from the cobblestones.....so believe I am slowly recovering to where I should try the gym in a day or two....will start out slow when I go.

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!!

Kathy, you and Diane are so kind! I can't thank you enough. Glad you are back on track. You are right about getting things going in the right direction and seeing our bodies respond accordingly.

I was a little more hungry today than usual, but still am on track. I had a ton of things on my "to do" list today and decided not to do any of them. That is a rarity for me. I just did what I wanted to and enjoyed myself...reading, watching some television, chatting on the phone with two friends, etc. It looks like I will be going to the event at my old church tomorrow. If I go, have decided to eat what I want, in moderation. The really good thing is that sweets have no appeal to me at all. So I have no worries about that.

All the best as the weekend approaches!

Huge hugs, Tammy..... This stuff can be scary for sure!!

My last blood pull says my levels are dropping out again, so I have to start up the iron again and go from there. Nuisance value for sure!!!

Had a bend in the road a couple of days ago.... And boy!! did my body over react! Back on track now tho'...... And my body is responding in kind. Sure doesn't take much to get things going on the right direction, for sure!! Yay!!

Pay day is Friday.... Can't come soon enough!! emoticon

Thanks so much Kathy and Diane. I started back on potassium today and am hoping it makes a difference. I also got my blood work done today. So I am on my way to finding out what is causing the problem. I am so grateful to both of you for helping me through this.

Diane - Wise move to wait till you feel up to going the gym. Treat your body with care! You are so right about mind over matter with the stress and anxiety. Thanks.

I am on track today again. I don't have much of an appetite but ate a little more today than usual...but still on plan. I see the pounds going away, so that is good news. I do have a challenge coming up on Friday. I am going to an event at my former church where there will be little, if any, healthy options will be available (it is an ethnic festival, high in carbs). There is an outside chance I might skip it, but quite a few friends from that church are expecting me to come.

Happy Hump Day to all!

Kathy....you are right on about effects of potassium or lack of in body! All the electrolytes need to be in balance. My MIL (when she was in mid 80's) began having such a time with that especially when she ran a fever or had urinary tract infections....would act strangely "goofy" (which was first clue something was wrong) and end up in ER with them adjusting her electrolytes and a few times it was touch and go. I think she was dehydrated a lot because she did not drink enough fluids...or eat enough either for that matter! She lived to 92, however, and all was fine until then and not the cause of her passing.

Tammy....it sounds like you found a good cardiologist, I am so happy for you! When I get a bit too "wound up" over something I find sitting with a book or doing solitaire on my iPad helps me to focus on something else and calm right down. Mind over matter for certain. It seems your heart doctor is doing all the right things and all will be sorted out soon.....so good to just forget about it and relax! CONGRATS on the weight loss!!! Awesome!!

I continue to stay right at the 162.something range up/down .2 of lb only. Will not stress over that either. When I am able to get back to gym then it will likely start downward again. Hoping that happens in the few days. Have been so sore in hips, knees etc from walking on those cobblestones that I don't want to go just yet....but better today!

Interesting about the potassium!! That component really needs to be "right on" for the body to function at optimum! I remember when one of my operations was stopped at the OR door when a lab tech came running in and said my potassium level was too low!!! Yikes!!

Sounds like you found a great doc there!!! Awesome!!

Well friends, I am here, and I am happy. The cardiologist turned out to be very nice. I immediately felt comfortable with him, and that means a lot. The heart monitor showed that I am having a very high number of PVCs, ventricular bigeminy. The EKG done today showed the same patterns. The doctor is not sure what is causing this, but said this cannot be ignored. He adjusted one of my blood pressure meds and put me back on potassium because he said low potassium could be a factor. I am going for some blood tests tomorrow and then will have an echo cardiogram next week. In early January I will have more blood work, then also wear another monitor, this time for 24 hours. And then I see the cardiologist again in mid-January. The best part of the visit was when we were wrapping up and he said, "No matter what this is, we will fix it." I felt so very reassured. I could feel myself relaxing right away. And I think that means a lot too.

I did well with eating today, still on track and expecting to see more losses as long as I keep this up. These heart issues are very motivating too.

Hope everyone is doing well. Thanks again for your support.

Diane - I hope your tummy is feeling better. Thank you so much for your comments and insights. I am hoping and praying this is something that can be handled with medication. I keep focusing on the fact that I feel fine, no chest pains, no shortness of breath. I also know that when I think too much and get anxious I could be stirring things up. And I think I am prone to doing that.

My eating is still fine, and I dropped a few pounds again. I am now at an all time low for the past 15 years or so. I still have a long way to go but feel that I can keep going. I also know that dropping this weight is good for my knees and for my heart.

I hope to be back here tomorrow reporting to you on the results of my cardiologist visit. If I don't post, you'll know that he did something drastic like hospitalized me or something. Thank you for all of your support and concern. It means a lot to me. emoticon emoticon

Decided to post a PS on my weight....am down .2 lbs to 162.4 and have been not exactly "on track" since return from Mexico. I developed a stomach issue after we returned home (Montezuma) and between that and my rekindled sugar cravings, I have had a liking for toast with honey. It settles my tummy and is a comfort of sorts I guess. I have limited myself so I have not had it every day and no more than one piece at a given time and no more than 2 pieces a day. (I make rules, lol) It's just that I know when I do have it that I am not eating on track, lol!

With that being the case, most of my other food choices are on track so I am not gaining, thankfully! This too shall pass (no pun intended).

Tammy....so sorry about your heart issues. I googled your diagnosis and it mentioned metropolol as a medication....which is what I am taking for my heart rhythm issues. Not sure what they call my issues, could even be similar, but I do not need to take heparin like my sister so know it is not A-Fib. Hoping yours is as benign as mine and taking a medicine like metropolol will settle it for you as it has for mine!

I have no side effects except (initial weight gain) and then just a feeling of less energy, no "get up and go". However, I should note I started my medication (100mg dose/twice daily) during a bout of pericarditis so those side effects could have been from the inflammation of my heart lining too. Today, I am not too aware of my smaller (25mg dose/once daily) effecting me very much.

Both my original heart specialists (MN and AZ) were NOT noted for bedside manner! Would be hard pressed to recommend them to friends....BUT as both told me the same things I decided to follow the program outlined. 3 years later, I found a younger and more pleasant cardiologist to do my checkups and he has chosen to keep me on same medication but gradually lowered my dose to the 25mg. Unless I have new or worsening symptoms, I only need to see him every other summer. Tammy, I wish you all good news from your cardiologist and remember you can always get a second opinion like I did and always can switch to a friendly doctor if you choose!

Thanks Kathy. I appreciate your support.

I had a full day, not by choice, but by obligation. In any case, it was good to keep my mind busy and off of my heart issue as much as possible. I am not eating much and the scale show it. I am down a few pounds again which is good. I really don't have much of an appetite, probably because of the stress, but maybe I am just not as hungry in general because of the healthy eating habits. I will be tied up most of tomorrow as well, again because of a commitment I have. So that is a good thing. I do feel fine (except for the anxiety I have about the medical stuff). I am trying to focus on how healthy I feel.

Have a great Sunday friends!

I'm so sorry you're not enthusiastic about the cardiologist you're seeing. Here's hoping his expertise way outways his beside manner!

Hoping you have an easy fix.....

My experiences with my cardiologist and electrocardiologist have always been very positive.....I hope the same for you!!!

Diane - Glad you are back and had a good time.

I got the results of the heart monitor. I am still in bigeminy. My family doctor wants me to see a cardiologist asap. They made an appointment for me for Tuesday afternoon with a cardiologist who I have not heard good things about. He is an older man who is said to have a terrible bedside manner, but if he is a good cardiologist I guess that is what matters. I am up and down in terms of my mood about all of this. Sometimes I am highly anxious and other times I am more calm and collected. I am hoping this is something that will be treated with medication, but my family doctor seemed so alarmed by the results (per her office gal who called me) that I am rather stirred up about this. I am doing my best to stay positive. I do have a strong faith, so I am counting on that as well as the support of my DS and my friends to see me through this. I have a lot of things I need to do between now and Tuesday, for a project I am working on, so I think this will help keep my mind off of the situation to some degree.

Hello from AZ! Back home and resting up from our trip. We were on the go quite a bit. Lots of walking. All good.

My weight is up .6 lb which is not so bad considering. Getting back on track ASAP. Hope I can manage that after about 7 days of no scales and no diet, lol! I am back to wanting sweets, yikes! Must try to remain strong!

Tammy...wishing you good luck with your monitor results.
Kathy...I hope your cold is better soon! I take 25mg of zinc every morning and seldom have a cold as a result. Last Time was when I went about a week without my zinc!

Thanks again Kathy. I was able to take the monitor off this morning. I will drop it off at the medical office tomorrow afternoon when I am running errands. I am so happy that it is off. Now I need to keep calm until I get the results. Ugh!

I am on track again today. My appetite has been very low, not sure why, but I'll take it. I am thinking of weighing in tomorrow or Friday.

I am off to a good start today and feeling relatively calm at the moment. I swear my emotions greatly impact my heart issues as I am so very prone to excessive stress/anxiety when it comes to this kind of thing. Sticking close to home today since I am unable to shower/wash my hair. Planning to run errands on Thursday and Friday. So I am making the most of this time at home.

Tammy...... If you don't notice it, is probably nothing to worry about....... There are meds that can even it out a bit.

Have fun with your 48 hours...... Hope the report is positive..... Or in this case..... Negative

Rest up Kathy! Hope the cold doesn't get you down.

I am now wearing my heart monitor for 48 hours. I am a bit concerned because the woman who put the monitor on me told me I was in bigeminy when she hooked me up. I just hope this is nothing serious.

My food is on track. Not very hungry.

Diane - Thanks for checking in. I've been thinking about you and wondering how you are doing. Sounds like a great get away.

I did well today and got in many many steps (for me) because I did some dept. store shopping with DS who got 2 new suits on sale, very much needed and very well priced. Also added to my steps because I did just a little grocery shopping. My weight is now about a half pound below my Thanksgiving weight, so whatever I might have gained is now gone. I'm keeping an open mind about tomorrow, Sunday, my tough day.

Spotty internet....wonderful weather, wonderful food and having such a great time with son and his dear wife! No scales here and not worrying about diet this week...will get back on track on Wed morning! Most food although plentiful is veggie based and not too many carbs.

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!

Right back on track today after a day of feasting yesterday. Happy to report that while we feasted yesterday and I had a taste of everything, I didn't over do it and didn't over indulge.

No Black Friday shopping for me. I am very happy to be at home today, away from the maddening crowds!

Kathy - Soooooo happpy about your good news from the heart monitor. And congrats on dropping another pound. Way to go. Good luck with your visit to your rheumatologist.

Diane - Glad your back is improving. Sounds like a week in Mexico might be just what the doctor ordered!

Today wasn't as terrible as some Sundays are for me. I did have more carbs than usual but not particularly unhealthy carbs. So I am ok with that. I am confident I can be back on track tomorrow...another busy day ahead of me, which is a way can be good.

This week could be a challenge for us for several different reasons. Let's do our best!

More Good news today..... I have dropped yet another pound! I’m hoping to be back in the 100s by the time I see My rheumatologist next week. Wouldn't that be awesome!!!

Shoulder PT has been going well.... And I have a whole bunch of exercises in my arsenal now that will keep that blasted cortisone away from me!!! emoticon

Tammy...so sorry about your organic food service! I hope you will be able to get the same foods at your local store....but I know you will miss those special deliveries!

So good to hear you are down on the scale, WTG! I was right about the scale going up after by off track afternoon and dinner but it is right back to the same 162 again this morning after an on track day yesterday. Today I have been on track too but not expecting another decrease.

I have not been to gym since unloading boxes for our friend. My back is much better but still not back to “as normal as I get”...and my knee and my wrist are definitely still uncomfortable. So until we get back from our week in Mexico, I am taking a break from the gym. Stretches and getting better sleep and wearing my knee tape and my wrist brace as much as possible...even at night. Ice on knee and wrist, heat on my back. Sorry to say I know this drill to well, lol!

Wishing everyone a beautiful Sunday....hoping all is well with each of our fellow team members!!

PS...Tammyyou will be awesome on your Sunday because you plan ahead so well and are so strong!

Diane - Good for you for not taking the meds you mentioned. I have been on generic Celebrex for years. That does worry me because Celebrex and other NSAIDS can do heart damage, but without them I wouldn't function at all. Such a trade off. Hope you are back on track today.

Kathy - Did you get the results of your heart monitor? Hope you are doing well.

My scale says I am down about a half pound again. I really would like to drop another pound or two by Thanksgiving, but doubt that this is a realistic goal. I will give it a good try though. But, I got some really sad news today. My wonderful organic delivery service has gone out of business....really without any warning. As of last night their website was up and running and normal when I checked on my order due for delivery today. When no delivery arrived today I checked the website and read the message that they are out of business, after 20 years providing such a wonderful healthy service. (I discovered them only about a year ago.) They offered just the following vague explanation, "Ultimately timing of recent events in our industry and the impact that had on our funding prospects were not in our favor with the ultimate result being no path forward." I am so very very sad about this. There is no comparable service in our area. There is a small organic grocery store, not too far from here, but I doubt they will offer the variety that the delivery service provided. Oh well, such is life I guess.

Thanks, Tammy, my back is a bit better after the massage...this seems like it is going to take awhile longer, darn. I am doing stretches now and that will help too.

I don’t take any medication except a Tylenol nowadays...for various painful areas. Even that I try to limit because my neurologist gave me such dire warnings about taking any types of pain meds at my age, lol. (He has seen too much Kidney failure & liver failure). He stressed he wants me to do heating pad, ice, massage, rest..anything but meds whenever possible. Guess he was convincing enough so now I am careful. Many years ago I did take some muscle relaxers for back and neck pain but they never did much for me except make me sleepy.

You are doing so well with the apple idea etc...WTG!

I had a weird day, really went OFF track starting with an ice cream bar around 3:00.. Then,we ate fast food out and I had a small burger, small fries and 4 oz of diet root beer at Culver’s for supper...just caved and told my DH I will get right back on my plan tomorrow! If the scale is up tomorrow, I will know what and who is to blame.

Wishing everyone a good, restful night!

Did a bunch of errands today and still not too tired. I have stayed on track again. I took 2 small apples with me in case I got hungry. Glad I did. I ate them right before going to get my hair cut. Tomorrow promises to be another busy day. Thinking I better take more apples along.

Hard to believe the weekend starts tomorrow already! Let's make it a good one!

Diane - Hope the massage helped your back. Do you take any muscle relaxers for your back? When I was in my 20s I had problems with back spasms and I think my doctor gave me some kind of muscle relaxer at that time. Woo hoo on your 162! Such a good feeling and very highly motivating in my book!

I weighed in this morning and stayed the same, so I guess Sunday's indiscretions didn't do too much damage. I did well today. It was another busy day so I didn't really have too much time to think about food. I love feeling satisfied and having no cravings.

Go Team indeed!

Good morning! A quick check in before running out the door for early am massage. I am hoping it puts my back into better shape! Golf was OK, not great...and my back did start bothering towards the end...and yesterday I had to leave for home from the store because my back was in spasms. This too shall pass!

I was up a .5 yesterday but today down to an even 162 which is lowest my scale has been since starting the diet so am happy....even if only .4 lbs down, lol, I have to celebrate even those little changes because they are hard earned!

One off day now and then (yours on Sunday, mine at the game) happens to everyone. Glad you had an on track productive day yesterday....wishing everyone the same success!
Go Team!!

Diane - Hope you are feeling better after all of your hard work with your friend. Hope you were able to enjoy your golf outing too. I always enjoy "stadium food," too. I have found too that there is almost nothing healthy to eat at such venues.....at least not at the ones I've been to.

I didn't do all that great today, but am ready to be on track tomorrow. As I've said before, Sundays are tough for me. My "schedule" is so different from the other 6 days of the week. Some Sundays are a little easier than others, and today wasn't horrible, just not fully compliant. I'm ready for Monday. We are under a winter weather advisory for freezing rain over night and into the morning commute. I plan to stay in until at least late morning or early afternoon.

Wishes for a wonderful week!

Tammy....so glad you have that feeling of a boost in energy...it has been too long since I actually felt that but remember it well, lol! My only caution is not to overdo it...the rebound is not good, and I also remember that too well!

The unpacking went quite well....surprised how much we actually accomplished....and I believe he should be able to work on the remaining items a bit at a time. My couple hours turned out to be 5 instead but we did not want to quit before we cleared at least the kitchen of all its stacks of boxes. We cleared those many boxes and DH kept cutting them down and putting the huge amounts of paper in some of the bigger empty ones. He should now be comfortable when he wants to forget the few remaining boxes. All good. Some sad moments of finding photos of he and his lovely wife, who passed away unexpectedly and way too young! And, we tried to recreate how she arranged their lovely items in her hutch, but it was not just right and he so wished he had taken a photo...he wanted it just like it always had been, sad....but surely understandable!

The not so good part has been the aftermath....my aching back and wrist issues since. Feeling better this morning and I am going to attempt to try Sunday league golf, the short par 3 club. My knee is taped and have on a couple wrist braces but need to get moving, too! A fine line and this is mostly gentle, short amounts of walking with this older group. If my back acts up I will quit and just be a cart driver. No gym last two days since unpacking...and we will see if I am up for it tomorrow?

We went to a basketball game last night and I had stadium food....yummy but NOT on track. Scale was kind and remained steady this morning, still on my plateau, so I am happy it did not bounce upward!

Wishing everyone a beautiful Sunday!

Diane - God bless you for being such a good friend and helping the gentleman move in. I bet your organizing will be a huge help to him. Hope things go well for him.

Today I feel better than I have in ages. I am not sure why, but I'll take it. Actually I am wondering if it is because of my weigh loss and my body not having to deal with those pounds that I dropped. I have minimal pain today, and my energy level is pretty high. I did a bunch of chores around the house today, took our dog to get his nails clipped, and even grocery shopped after that. And all of this in unseasonably cold weather....22 chilly degrees here at the moment. I did sleep in a bit this morning so maybe the extra sleep helped too.

I am completely on track today. As for dinner yesterday.....well, I did so-so but sure had a terrific time celebrating such a good friend turning 75. We all talked and laughed and shared for about 3 hours in the restaurant. I feel blessed to have such good friends. I had two glasses of wine but also drank a lot of water as well. My biggest gripe of course, as always, is the saltiness of the food, even though the food was delicious. I was very thirsty for the rest of the evening and even a bit this morning. I know it was from the restaurant food. I am always a good water drinker but today I was thirsty for it...and that is unusual for me.

Well friends, the weekend is here. Let's make it a good one!

Tammy congrats on the -1.5 lbs!! And the good. Hooches for that dinner, woohoo!

I am holding at 162 range still and did fitness center today. Tomorrow will help a friend unpack his kitchen after moving across country to our retirement community. He is widowed now and, even a year later, is a bit lost! We are so sad for him. DH will help with some bigger items while I do some lighter weight unpacking and organizing.

Have a great Thursday all!!

I am home from the scholarship dinner and did very well. They served roast turkey, green beans, salad (those were my healthy choices), and stuffing (I had about 1/2 cup and it was just ok). I didn't take any baked ziti, mashed potatoes, or dessert. I drank water. We were seated with 2 of the loveliest people I ever met. All of the tables were tables of 4, with assigned seating. We were seated with one of the former chancellor's of the university and his wife. All 4 of us immediately connected and had a wonderful time together. The evening flew by.

In other news, I weighed in this morning and am down another 1.5 pounds. I'll take it. Tomorrow is the dinner for my dear friend's 75th birthday, rescheduled from last Thursday. I will do my best, but fully expect to have at least one glass of wine to toast the "birthday girl." We have been close friends for almost 40 years. He late husband and I grew up in the same church, and although he was also older than me, we knew each other and reconnected when I moved here (about 60-70 miles from where we grew up).

Hope the week is going well for everyone!

Diane - Glad you are getting good results from the Osteobiflex. That is one thing I have not tried but might look into in the future.

Short post from me tonight. Had a very full day with some small but time consuming projects. Really didn't have time to think about food too much. Another busy day ahead of me tomorrow & then I am going to a dinner with DS, at his university, as his "guest." I have no idea what will be served. The dinner recognizes scholarship recipients of which DS is one.

Tammy...good for you...that is tough to say no when "friends" are giving you treats and you are trying to resist the temptation. Sometimes, I can't resist....and then, sometimes it can make me stronger because I think "why are you doing this when you know I am working so hard to lose some weight"? Good for you that you were able to do the one bite and resist!!

The steak meal was very good....evidently, too good, sigh. We had a glass of wine before dinner while visiting (me cooking the mushrooms & salad prep) and then a refill during dinner (which I should have said no, but did not). My weight went up one lb yesterday morning and remains there today even after going to gym yesterday. I know wine will mess with my weight and I do usually avoid it when dieting, but am now shown again...if I indulge it has to be just one glass.

The golf went really well....thought I had absolutely no knee pain and even forgot about my knee while out there enjoying the sunshine and the joy of just being able to do it! Then after homea few hours, I noticed some slight swelling in it and it has been just a bit tight/sore but not enough to skip the gym....which I am going to do again today. No pain on waking this a.m., I can see that taking the Osteobiflex has helped my knee tremendously!

Laundry yesterday and house cleaning today....and the gym. Those activities will keep me busy until this afternoon. Hope everyone has an on track day and a happy one!

Kathy - Diane is right. That blasted scale will move, sometimes when we least expect it. Heaven sakes, you sure do have long days. I'd be exhausted, I'm sure. And when I'm tired I have soooo much trouble staying on track. I think all things considered you are doing well.

Diane - So how did the golf game go? Your dinner for your friend sounds soooo goooood! I love grilled out steak, and the mushrooms, salad, and potato are perfect! Yum.

I did remarkably well at the church dinner. I was not even tempted by the dessert table, which happened to be right next to where we were sitting. A friend at my table reminded me that she made pumpkin cheesecake, suggesting that I take some. So I did....I put it on a plate, took one bite, and gave the rest of it to DS. Another friend gave me a piece of apple pie to bring home. I took one bite and yuck....I don't know what she did to it, but no temptation there....it tasted horrible...right in the trash. I am on track today too. I haven't weighed in but will do so in a day or two and am hoping for good news...I'll be happy with just a pound down.

Expecting a great week for all of us.

Hang in there Kathy....this slow moving scale will budge eventually. Off track day, just get back on and go from there. Thats the best thing we can do for ourselves is not let on off day defeat us!!

I remember long days at work....really tough not to eat "fast food" and I wanted carbs all the time, lol. I don't have that excuse and still want carbs....but am better today at saying no (majority of the time).

Have a wonderful Monday everyone!

I hear ya..... I'm kind of stuck too..... And yesterday was totally an off-plan day for me.....(Ooooopps)

Long days at work (9-10 hours)...... Have to learn to stick with the Program regardless, instead of grabbing whatever's easily available when I do get home.

Lot more walking yesterday around the store tho..... That's progress!! (We're talking Home Depot....... Lots and lots of square footage!!)

Sunday morning and it will be my first day back to Sunday league golf. We play 9 holes from 150 yards or less. It's for people who are not up to regular 18 holes of golf here in our retirement community. Yeah!! If physically able, I also play a regular length course of 9 holes on Tuesdays. That regular 9 hole league has been pretty hit and miss the last couple years. I miss playing 18 holes but am just not up to it anymore.

So no gym last 2 days....I have not been as strong willed to "get up and go" as I should be....today the golf will be my work out. We have a friend coming for dinner so I have to come back and cook. Good news is the steak part will be grilled out so I am doing baked potato, mushrooms and fresh green salad. Will split the potato with DH so won't be too much carb.

Wgt has been the same several days in a row again and it seems like my body is wanting to hang in here around the 162 mark, sigh. Patience and one day at a time and keeping on track will eventually get that to budge. Again (again) I need to drink my water!!!

Blessed Sunday to all....

Kathy - Hoping your monitor results are good. Hope too that you are feeling better.

Diane - I make a fair share of chicken too. I seem to go in spurts with it. I smiled about your onions. We are a totally non-onion family. Neither DS or I like onions at all. I was very accustomed to eating seconds as well and did so because I wasn't satisfied it seems. But I think now, eating on this plan that is so packed with nutrients, I am much more satisfied and seldom feel like I need "more." Were you able to get to the gym today?

I did fine again today. Our organic delivery arrived today. The boxes say "joy delivered," and indeed it is! It feels like Christmas every Friday when these goodies arrive. A busy weekend ahead of me with church activities. Food is not a problem for tomorrow, but Sunday we have a special dinner. I am not sure what is on the menu, but I think it might be some kind of chicken (hoping for that), and I am pretty sure there will be a big salad.....just hope it doesn't have onions!

Let's have a great weekend!

Kathy, so glad you are done with monitor and hope you receive a good report!

Tammy....had to smile, that chicken and peppers (and onions) was in my oven night before last! Should not be surprising as we are all trying to eat on track. I have chicken several times a week...tonight baked with some bbq sauce on table...which neither of us used, lol.

I, too, have wondered why sometimes I feel very hungry or, like tonight, at dinner...not really? On 17dd, I put food on my plate and then eat that amount...no seconds. Before diet I often had seconds of part of the meal...my whole life I have eaten more than my sisters growing up etc. Lucky for me, back then, I had hollow legs...but not the last 40 years, lol!

I am up almost a 1/2 lb today....no reason I can figure out except no gym yesterday or today.....early appt today and then we were busy all day (late checking in here too) and I never got there. Tomorrow! Wishing everyone a good night.

Checking in earlier than usual today just because I have a little extra time. I am on track and feeling well. I scheduled my heart monitor for the Monday after Thanksgiving. I am a bit calmer about all of this now. Kathy, I will be interested in your results if you care to share.

I have chicken and peppers baking in the oven.Smells delicious. I will add a salad and a veggie to be determined. I often wonder why food is more important to me on some days than other days. I guess what I really mean is I wonder why I am so darned "hungry" (true hunger, not cravings) on some days more than others? Thoughts, friends?

Hope everyone is doing well. It is absolutely gorgeous here today....74 degrees and sunny here in eastern PA....pretty amazing for us in November. emoticon
