Good idea on the supplements Gabby. Thank you. I'll look for them the next time I get to Walmart.

It won't hurt you all to take a separate potassium supplement along with your multivitamins. I do, as well as Vitamin D.

Thanks everyone for your replies and advice. I have these things called 'yoga toes' which I wore for about 40 minutes last night, and for the first time I didn't have leg cramps! I guess the yoga toes worked to stretch my toes and that may have provided the relief for my leg cramps-I hope! I will wear the yoga toes again tonight before I go to bed in hopes it continues to help. Will let you know how it goes. I had heard of eating a banana, but they aren't allowed on c1 so I didn't try that. Thanks again! Will keep you posted!

It was me that posted this same problem last week...
I've had the same problem throughout the 17DD. I get them in my feet, calves, and hips. I haven't found a cause yet - perhaps my increased exercise or because of my increased metabolism, I'm needing more water, vitamins, or minerals. I take multivitamins, drink my 8 glasses of water and get my nutrients from the 17DD, so it didn't make sense that I would have a deficiency of any kind, but maybe...
I recently found a homeopathic treatment labeled for muscle cramps at my local healthfood store. It's called zincum metallicum. I take 5 of the little "balls" twice a day, and I think it's actually helped! It could just be a placebo, but I've also tried a lot of other "treatments" to no avail (tonic water, bananas, magnesium, pickle juice, etc), so I'm just glad the cramps have stopped!
I've been meaning to have other causes checked out. I suspect it may have to do with my arches or alignment. Keep me posted if you also find something that works!

Dolphin - I've been having leg cramps also and started eating a banana again. It's helped quite a bit. I always felt like I needed to stretch or something so been doing some calf stretches and it's helped some. Hope you get it taken care of - makes it so uncomfortable when you try to sleep!

I couldn't remember who it was either Gabby, but I agree, someone had this same problem.

A friend of mine who did C1 had that problem.....her doc had her add half a banana to her breakfast every morning and it helped. Hope you find a solution!

We just had this discussion in the last two weeks. Maybe whoever posted the original will reply, because we also suggested potassium and that she call her doctor. Maybe she found some answers. I wish that I could remember who it was.

lack of potassium? That usually causes it. But yes, I agree with Linda...check with a doctor.

Gee it could be a deficiency, but I don't know what in. I would get in touch with the doctor and ask that question.

So for the last week and a half I have been having leg cramps in my calves at night. Now tonight while relaxing on the couch, I had leg cramps. I don't know why this is happening. I notice it happens when I flex my foot mostly. Does this happen to anyone else? Do I have a deficiancy of something or ??? What can I do to lessen the frequency of this happening because it wakes me up at night to the point that I have to actually get out of bed and walk a little to loosen the cramped muscle.
