Good to hear! I did some heavy housework, too!

My husband has pneumonia, so not a great weekend! But now he is diagnosed and on antibiotics, so he will get better!

I haven't felt like exercising since Sunday because ! Am so tired! But I have made myself do at least ten minutes, that way I get something in and I usually do a bit more, so it's good!

Have a great week!

Way to Go!!!

I did 25 min. of heavy housecleaning today. Did you know that heavy house cleaning can go on your fitness tracker?? I am glad it does. I clean extra hard now, so I sweat some and feel good about putting it on the fitness tracker.

Hope you had a great weekend!!

Blessings are coming your way!!

I just figured it was normal for the SP classes groups to get slower as you get more involved with other groups. Are there still a lot of us from this group active??? I know I am trying!!!

I have learned a lot on SP. I am slowly trying to put it to use. I have to work more on will power!!! My DH and DS buy "junk" that we have in the house. So, I am trying to do more of the shopping and have been cutting down on the "junk". I am encouraging them to both eat better. They will if I cook. So, that is good. Now, I just have to do more cooking!! LOL

Hope you all have a great week!!

Welcome to the club, that is, the Computer Challenged Club. emoticon

I don't have my spark page done yet. I stumbled on it one night and got one opened. Now my posts want me to put a tracker or ticker or somthing on them. But I don't know how to get there!! emoticon

But that is ok, because someday I will find it. emoticon

I just keep playing on the Spark site and find new things all the time. I am really enjoying SP even if I am computer challenged!!!!

Hope you all have a great day!!! emoticon

Hi Debi,
Yes, I am doing well. I have been taking 1-2 hours a day for myself. That has really helped. I know and can't always do 2 hours, but that is fine. It really helps me relax.

I love to work with folks with developmental disabilities. The person I lost was the first person I ever worked with. He was just wonderful and had me wrapped around his little finger!! LOL He was 68 and it was time for him to see Jesus. He use to live with us, we have an Adult Family Home, or at least that is what they call it in Wisconsin. The last couple of years, he has been in a nursing home because of the stroke. So, my other guy, who lives with us (we can have 2 people to care for at one time) would go see him in the nursing home all the time. He just had the best smile and was ssssoooooo sweet!! I will miss my talks with him. But I know he is better off now with Jesus and his Daddy. He loved stuffed monkeys, and I have a couple of them to remember him by. He always made anyone who met him smile!! :) I know there will be hard days, like when I go and visit him mom in the nursing home. She is taking it hard, but she will be 90 in Oct. But I am ready for that. He loved going to church. So, I know he is in a good place now.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I will pray for you!!

Thanks for asking and letting me tell you about him.
You are a wonderful person!!!
God Bless,
Rhonda

KKRSAVMO Thank you for the encouraging words. I needed to hear them tonight. Just got back from a funeral. It was a hard one. But I have been looking at ways to exercise or at least strenght training to release some of the tension. I am not one to care for myself well, but you are RIGHT!!! I have to care for myself or I can't care for others. So, that is what I am planning to do everyday next week. I have to carve at least 30 minutes each day for me and something I like: reading my bible, quilting, doing something with my son (but he is 16 1/2, so it might be hard to find something we both agree on LOL LOL), or just go sit outside and enjoy the beautiful views from my deck!!
Thank you for caring!!! I needed that today too!!!
God Bless You!!

Rhondawi, I'm so sorry summer has been so stressful! Just remember that you need to take care of your self also! So often we care for those around us but don't take care of ourselves which only makes it harder to care for others. Step back, take a deep breath and re-evaluate your goals. Tell yourself you can do it, because you can!!!

Stressing!!!! Too Busy!!! Next week the is the last of the free lunches our church will be hosting for the summer. So, I won't be helping at that anymore. We are caring for a man that is in late stages Alzhimers, so that is hard too, but going pretty good. I am not good about my food, but am taking it one meal at a time. I am getting better, that is until I get stressed. Trying to exercise too. It is not regular, but at least it is something.

I just pray a lot!!!

Blessings are coming your way!!

I haven't been around much. It's been a really busy summer! Out of town family for 3 weeks and a vacation with them, house remodeling going on, hopefully a garage sale coming up, etc.

I admit I haven't been real careful with my diet and I'm up 2 pounds. In the first place, that could be so much worse and in the second place it's time to get it moving back in the right direction!!

So I'm back!

I'm doing very well today. I did my first day of the P90X Classic last night, and I woke up motivated for Day 2!

Breakfast is slow cooked oatmeal (that I make in the microwave :P) with cinnamon and a fresh peach cut up into chunks. The mix is delicious, and since peaches are in season, it's cheap!

getting motivated seems to be a problem here. I am working on earning 20-25 spark points a day. I am learning a lot of stuff and having fun doing it. I have done some strength training exercises, not much on the cardio these days. BUT!!! I still have hope that I can figure out how to get some cardio in my crazy schedule. Right now, I am drinking 8 8 oz of water a day. I think I am floating, but it is something I can do and accomplish. So that is good.
Hope you all have a great day!!

I was nervous about my weight in I remained the same.
Try to look for other sign of weight loss.

Congrats on your daughers engagement. I bet you are flying.
Sleep can have a negative effect on weight loss for a number of reasons so don't give in to the mindless eating.
Enjoy the prom festivities.

I'm dragging today! In the first place I got to bed to late because my dd Veronica came home last night ENGAGED!!! I am happy for them! He's a great guy!

Then when I finally got to bed my restless leg syndrome started in and of course in the excitement of the news I forgot to take my meds for it so it bothered me most of the night. I'm living on 3 hours of sleep right now.

Hopefully I can get a nap in sometime this afternoon but two of my other kids have prom tonight so..............

It's to be a busy day!

I'm just ,moving along, reading and learning...finding my momentum, getting it done slowly! I have a friend at work and we go out to lunch everyday (mostly to get away from work)...But it's expensive and fattening! He'll be gone in 3 weeks (transferred) and I hate to say that I am looking forward to his departure for my waistline and my pocketbook! But I will definitely miss him!

Today I'm planning breakfasts, snacks, and suppers for family, lunches for my daughter...And I have to make a commitment not to overeat in my lunches this week!

Celebrated my 71st birthday (not counting the first one!) with my special lady and friends...we BBQd turkey burgers, sweet potatoes, and fresh pears. Pears became a salad with parmesan chesse and fresh spinach. . I made fresh salsa and guacamole that we ate with Tostitos scoops...I ate too many! Deanna made a sorbet made from fresh mangoes...really delicious....all in all a pretty healthy meal since I didn't add a bun to my burger.

I'm feeling fine and will continue to stay on the Sparks Program. emoticon

I have been MIA for about a week. Took a holiday and then had to do lots of housework and laundry catchup.
Hope everyone is getting around SP by now and having success.

Had a super busy day on Saturday... all of my kids were home this weekend, so I was cooking for all of them during the day. Then that evening, we all got together for a family pic before heading to my oldest stepson's wedding BBQ reception. (they ran off to Colorado and eloped during spring break last month) It was outside of course, but it was kinda chilly, and I think the weather got to my hip.

So, today was a very miserable day for me... I've spent most of it in bed, and required a couple doses of pain medicine to get the hip back under control. Finally feeling better tonite, so I hope that tomorrow is better!

I have stalled temporarily! I am very tired - but I know that the tiredness is a result of not drinking enough water and not exercising...It's a stall, I'll be moving by the end of the day! But it does frustrate me even though I know the why of it! "keep on moving, keep on moving"...

Yesterday as I was doing housework I decided to keep moving. Even if I was scrubbing a pot or repackaging 36 chicken breasts for the freezer I kept marching/dancing/etc. in place as I was working. It got my heart rate up and I felt much better about doing the housework!

I can relate, Jamie... my gym is open, but my fav part is closed, so I haven't been able to workout like I typically do either. I've decided to go try out some "new" stuff today just to get a good workout in...

Time to get back into my usual routine... (night shift mode)... as I finally get to return to work tomorrow night after being on medical leave for 4 months!

I started off great, lost 20 lbs in 2 months. But have hit a bump. My gym is closed for remodeling and I haven't lost any weight in 2 weeks. Can't wait for May 1 for it to re-open!

I'm back from my road trip... and had a very good time. I can honestly say that my HS friend has definitely found his calling (no pun intended)... he is probably the best pastor I've had the pleasure of listening to! I really wish his church was closer than 4 hrs away... I'd love to be able to attend his services every week!

Anyway... with all of the traveling, I wasn't able to get in as much exercise as I'd like, but I did make sure I got some in each day. And I'm looking forward to getting back to a "normal life" this week, as I've finally been released to go back to work! YEAH!!!

So far so good. I have made many adjustments. However I am thankful for all the people on SP This is the best!! I have lost inches and a very few pounds. But I am not alone
so it helps to read what others have to say. This keeps me in touch and not wanting to hide.
That is a good thing emoticon

I missed going to church today because I was up most of the night with neuropthy pain in my feet. So I think I will spend the rest of the day working on crocheting an afghan I'm making for my son. That and, boy does my kitchen ever need a good cleaning!

I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday!

I'm headin' out on another "mini" road trip... this time w/ my Dad. We're goin' up to Nebraska (our neighboring state) to spend the weekend w/ a school friend of mine & his family. He's a minister, and we've never been to one of his services... so that is our plan for this last weekend before I return to work.

I made sure there was a fitness room at the hotel we're staying at... so my workout will be done there later this evening!

I bet you get some good walks in with Jack Russell's. Dogs are a great motivator to get out and move, and move faster than you would without them.
Today is cool and gloomy here but I am planning on getting into the garden to work. I'm expanding it so physical labor is my planned exercise for the day.
Everyone, enjoy your weekend.

Charlotte bounces between warm and cold, sunny and stormy, dry and humid....must be Spring! Having lost 7.5 lbs since I started on 3/9/11, I'm feeling very good about myself and Sparks. Since I'm eating healthier with many veggies and fruits daily, my "innards" are working well and I'm full of energy. TMI?

I had my last physical therapy session yesterday, and then worked out w/ my personal trainer today... so workouts haven't been an issue. Been "indulging" a bit on the nutritional side lately... so I need to get that back under control.

The weather here in KS has been insane... had severe weather earlier today... currently have 40+mph winds out there, w/ forecasted 60+mph for tomorrow... and just 30 minutes west of here, they have a raging blizzard going on (bad enough to shut down the interstate!). That's just crazy! Tomorrow's high is in the 40's along w/ the wind.... YUCK! But, we're supposed to be back into the 70's by Saturday... ah, springtime in Kansas! LoL

Dogs are my companions all day while my honey slaves away at work. The Jack Ruussell, Jax, is my shadow and sticks his nose into everything I'm working on. when I do pushups, he thinks its time to lick my face and get on my back. The Yorkie Mix, Lily, is demure, coy and ladylike. She demands her own special "sit on my lap" times whenever I stop to relax a while with a cup of decaf.

Currently hangin' out w/ my college-age son for a couple of days... went to a Jason Derulo concert last evening, and visited some wineries this afternoon. It's been nice to spend time w/ him... but not looking forward to him moving 26 hrs away to Orlando, Florida (even though I am very excited for him to start his Disney internship)!

Headin' back home in the AM... got my last session of P.T. tomorrow!

Had a great time at the lake! Did tons of walking... and it's always a "workout" just to set up and then tear down the campsite... so exercise was not a problem this weekend. Also did alot of fishing too...

I made sure we had plenty of healthy options for food choices. We had very lean steaks on Friday night, I made a salad for lunch on Saturday, grilled flavored chicken sausages on Sat night, and then had baked fish today that we had caught this weekend. I had also taken out a huge fruit salad that I snacked on all weekend long.

Looking forward to my weigh-in tomorrow...

Just totalled my daily walks of last week and I went 15 miles. Not bad but not the twenty-one I wanted. But, my daily steps totalled 34.5 miles using the average 2000 steps per mile standard. I'll take it.

Today is really windy so I'm not sure when I will venture out but I know that if I want to keep my new self I will venture out for at least a 1/2 mile.

It is so easy to just blow it off but that only gets pounds added back on because once you allow yourself to slack once you allow yourself to slack on more occasions and all the pounds just creep back on.

Sometimes not quitting is okay until you can work through the 'issues'.
Try putting some Crystal Light or similar flavoring in your water. There are zero and 5 calorie powdered flavorings that help people that don't like water to be able to drink it.
Good luck.

I'm not doing too well. Trying to maintain a positive attitude! I'm tracking my food - fat is always over recommended limit, so I know to make changes there! I've been exercising more, so I'm happy about that and I now want to exercise! I treated myself to some items from the Sparkstore...a nice t-shirt and some food measuring items! My weight isn't going anywhere but it isn't about the weight, although it will be nice to see changes in the scale to match the changes in my body! I'm feeling a little down about it, but I know in my head what's going on and that it's okay, don't give up, etc. But that little voice is there saying "why bother, your weight isn't changing, so just give up"...but I will not give in to that voice. Today I will eat healthy calories and drink my water (that's a huge issue for me)...For the weekend I will drink my water every day. That is my short-term goal (very short-term)...!

3 days - drink water requirement Fri, Sat, Sun...Treadmill for 60 min Fri, Bodyrock Sat, rest Sun

Hey ya'll... sorry I've been MIA... went on a road trip w/ my son for several days, and then w/ my bff today. Checkin' in w/ everyone tonite, and then headin' to the lake tomorrow w/ the hubby for a couple of days of R&R...

Hope everyone's had a great week... I've tried to "behave" myself while road trippin'... and for the most part, I did a pretty good job. Have lotsa good food planned for the lake, so shouldn't be any problem there.

Have a great weekend, and I'll check back in on Sunday evening!
