For me, slimming down means being able to 'run and not be weary'. I haven't been able to do that since track in HS. I also want to be the example my husband and children need--to see that I love them enough to do hard things...and do what it takes to be healthy and strong.

Slimming down means much more to me since i found out how sick I am. Losing weight will play a major part in fighting the battle ahead. Now my motivation is not only looking good it is living. I don't really bother with the scale I just make sure I keep my calories in check and work out everyday no matter what. Each day I think of not working out or having a snickers I think of what is at stake

Slimming down for me means that I will be able to go to wear a swimming suit without feeling self-conscious. It means that I won't have to worry about fitting into my summer clothes and being able to wear some of my clothes I like but cannot currently fit into. It means that when my kids remember back to their childhood they will not remember me as being overweight.
Slimming down to me means continuing with not having to take meds for blood pressure, cholesterol, or diabetes. I'm turning 50 in September and really want to achieve a healthy weight before that time. I also really want to enjoy the warmer weather, wearing shorts and feeling good in sleeveless tops or bathing suits. I also want to be a better role model to my two daughters. Most importantly, slimming down means staying healthy so I can continue to enjoy my family and all that I've been blessed with:))

Slimming down for me means fitting back into my nice clothes that I couldn't bear to part with while I was gaining all this weight. It seems like a silly thing to look forward to, but that is really what I want. I also want to be able to play softball this summer. I really miss it. I used to be much slimmer and in better shape, and I let a stressful time in my life get the better of me. Now it is time for me to get the better of it!

I love that you posted a positive thread! I'm looking forward to being successful too! I've been there before and it feels so good. It doesn't feel very good the other way around. So can't wait to get to that feeling again. I definitely can't wait to be in a bathing suit again. I love the beach and haven't been there in a few years. It's great to think of all the things there are to look forward to. Thanks =)

Thought I'd start a thread on the positive side of change!
I am SO looking forward to being slim, first of all because when I accomplish my goal (when, not IF!), I will have such incredible respect for myself for seeing things through. I am a strong woman in so many aspects of my life, but the daunting task of weight loss. Truth s that same strength in life I rely on to get me by can also get me to my goal.
Cant wait to buy new clothes, capris in summer, shorts, bathing suit...possibilities are endless!
Cant wait to find out if I really have toes, all I can see when I look down is my belly!
I have back pain right now, mostly because of my weight, so I hope to feel relief when I slim down!
I want to be an inspiration to others, I would love that
