Hello Everyone! I have been a bit MIA myself lately--it has been so crazy busy at work that I just don't have the energy to post in the evenings when I get home. I also, unfortunately, do not have much energy to work out, either, so I have not been doing so well on that end of things either. This holiday weekend has been a blessing--I feel relaxed and rested enough now to get back into the swing of things. Softball season starts next week, too, and that will really help me get into it again.

Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday!

DONGINZU: Congrats on the half marathon. Keep on keeping on. You are doing a great job on handling things. Keep taking it one day at a time.

Hey folks - thanks for the birthday wishes and messages! Been a bit MIA but I'm trying to get myself back into the habit of getting online and checking in. Things are pretty much the same. I want to throw up and/or punch him every time I see him or speak to him, which is every day, LOL. We're working on the financial details. Still need to sit down and do my side to make sure he's going to be giving me and the kids enough to pay our bills and also still need to do my list for the separation agreement. Those are both overwhelming and depressing. On the good side, I have started to box up everything that he left (which is pretty much everything--he didn't even take all his underwear!) and get it out. Starting in my bedroom, which I am going to completely redo, move furniture, paint etc. It WILL be mine ... and I will put a lock on the door so he can't go in there any more. Mum and dad arrive in a little under 3 weeks, so we have a lot to look forward to!

Did my Half Marathon. Oh. My. Gosh! It was hard!!! Not that I ever expected it to be easy, but I really struggled with nausea and dizziness for several miles. BUT ... I ran across that finish line, even though I didn't run the entire 13.1, and that was my ultimate goal. Now I'm trying to get remotivated to run again. Been having a bit of a hard time with it these past couple of weeks. My daughter wanted to sign up for her first 5k so we're doing a women only race in Baltimore in June ... the day before my parents leave. Someone suggested mum do it with us, and she actually agreed! She's not a runner, and has only ever exercised briefly and fitfully, so we are going to mostly walk with the occasional trot. I'm just really excited to be able to do this with the 2 most important women in my life. :D (Eep! I just referred to Bekah as a woman. I feel OLD!)

That's pretty much all that's going on here. I guess that's actually a lot! :P Still just going to keep taking it a day at a time when I can, and a minute at a time when a whole day is too much. Glad to see everyone still posting here. I got a lot to go back and catch up on!!!

Have a great day, everyone. emoticon

Wow, that's really incredible that things have worked out so well. I'm very happy for you. Good to hear that you're sleeping better, that goes such a long way to feeling energized. Happy days are here again!

BQ- Thank you for your support

DON- I'm glad you have found a great therapist. Thank you for your encouragement

HOOPS-Way to Go

I've caught up on all post since I've been on. It has been a busy two weeks. I have nothing but good news. When I went to court for my Disability the judge automatically agreed I needed it the only thing had to question was how far back they would go. I expected to go back to 1/11 when I applied but they went back to 2008. Praise God. As for the Child Support hearing it was favorable. I had filed the letter stating when my Disability Hearing was so the Child SUpport Judge saw it and asked if I got it and I gave them the letter stating I had. She was pleased and said come back in 90 days once you have your payment and we will finalize it. YEAH! So much stress has been lifted that I am sleeping better and having a little more energy. Maybe I can start exersice more. I'm thinging about getting the "Insanity" workout DVD. Thank you for the encouragement and support.

Yesterday I got up, and went and bought top soil, mulch and peat moss, and spent several hours working in our gardens. It was a really warm day, and I knew I wasn't drinking enough, but I really just wanted to get it done. I had ball in the afternoon, and while running to first base I felt a "pop" in my right quad. I'm totally in agony, but I know it's my own fault because I was dehydrated. Lesson learned!

Again, it's a beautiful day! I think we've skipped spring completely and gone straight to summer :)

I'm trying to gather a bunch of friends for a bbq and bonfire at our house. Guess I'll have to go shopping, and number one on the list is spinach! Hope you're all having a fantastic Saturday!!

It's a wonderful day in Ontario! I think I just may leave work a little early, and go for a long bike ride, my first of the spring. Good-bye snow, hello sunshine :)

Well, ball got rained out last night, but it was okay because my son's hockey team had a gathering and I was able to take him rather than sending him with another parent. It was fun, the kids ate pizza and chicken and bowled. I ate a salad, so I was proud of myself. I was the only parent that didn't join the boys in what they ate.

Hope you're all having a fantastic week!!

Happy belated birthday, Don! Sorry I missed it! Work has been a little crazy lately. I'll be glad for mid-May to arrive--all the extra activities should be over and done with by then.

I just joined the Spring Bootcamp Challenge. I hope to be able to get beyond that 190 mark with the help of this challenge. Wish me luck!

Don and Scott: You are both wonderful. Don't ever let anyone else tell you differently. Pull from that well of strength you both have, and lean on friends and family for support when the going gets rough. Just think of all the things you have already come through--you'll get through this, too. emoticon

Bugqueen: I'm sure you'll really love getting that little break this summer--keep on pushing--you're almost there!

Great reminder, Hoops. Very timely. Thanks!

Appreciate everyone's support so much. I've actually been seeing a therapist for a little over a month now, and I really like her a lot. I think we have a really good connection and when we talk I don't feel like she's just talking a load of gumpf, which is what I've found the previous times I've seen a therapist. I'm certainly glad to already have that working for me. It was her encouragement that made me decide to at least consult with my doc about the medication. I've been on the same dose for a year now, but so many things have changed both physically with the weight loss and emotionally with the divorce that I think we should just take a look at things and reevaluate whether we need to make any adjustments. In the meantime--just taking it an hour at a time, when a day at a time feels like it's too much.

Scott, i understand completely where you are coming from in terms of making yourself sit down and write out what you will need for court. I am in the same position. I *need* to put down on paper what I want in the separation agreement but sitting down and doing it is just incredibly stressful and overwhelming and I avoid it like the plague. But--it's hanging over my head. I know there will be some level of peace and control once I've forced myself to do it, but getting there is a different story. Someone suggested to me that I should ask a friend or family member to sit with me while I work on it, for moral support and to keep me going when I want to just curl up in a ball and hide from the world. I think it's a good idea. Maybe there is someone you could make arrangements with to at least check in with you and encourage you to start working on parts of it, if not to sit with you for the whole thing? Perhaps your sister could help, as she seems to be very supportive of the process for you? Thinking of you and sending positive thoughts your way to help you get through this. It's just another step, just one more thing you CAN get through to show Gabrielle and Caleb how strong you are and how much you will fight to do what is right for them. I wonder, for both of us, whether this will be like taking any other "first step" on this journey. However hard we think it will be, however much we avoid it and dread it, oftentimes it seems that once we take that first step and get the first part started, things seem to fall into place a little more and the second and third steps are a tiny bit easier, because we've already survived that first part.

Better crack on, I suppose. Hope everyone has a fantastic day. The sun is shining here again. Hurray!

Hi Scott - you know we are thinking of you, and it's a good thing to have the support of your sister.
Hi Donginzu - Scott's advice about finding a good therapist is solid. This had to be a shock out of nowhere, and someone with training is likely to help you find peace and begin to heal. Good for you for going on a run to relieve some of your stress.

Hi Confido - now that's a challenge I need - "Tame your sugar" !
Hi Hoops - wow, snow?! It's been cold and rainy here in NY, but we lucked out with no snow.
Hi Ebrand - awesome run!!!

Busy week for me, but the semester is winding down and soon I'll be able to breathe again!

Thanks all for the encouragement and the support. It means a lot to me and is helpful.

DON- Hang in there. You are doing the right thing by going to the doctor. Sometimes people need a little medication just to get by for a short period. It is understandable to be depressed with all the stressers you have right now. You might want to get with a Therapist as well. You might not need to see them every week but some will help.

I find myself being more depressed and anxious as time gets closer to my court dates. I really need to prepare by writing down what I need to say but I find myself being afraid to do it. Thank God my sister is coming for support and as a witness.

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price therefore honor God with your bodies.

Way to go Elaine! I have treadmill work myself tonight.

Hoops: SNOW??? Wow--it's going to be 90 here tomorrow. I hope some of that warmth blows your way soon.

Don: Our brains are strange in the way they process things sometimes. You think you are done with something, but then it pops up all over again. I think our minds just take a little rest from difficult issues to keep us sane, then when we are able to, they start working on it again. Just know that these ups and downs are part of the process. That run tonight ought to help you move through it. Hang in there!

Hi All! Ewww....snow! I would be just fine if I never saw it again!

Was able to crank out 3.6 yesterday. On the treadmill. I am hitting weights today and running tomorrow.

Have a great day!

Ewww Hoops! That's just plain wrong! Today is slightly better here but still damp and chilly. It needs to go back up to being sunny and in the 70s. Wouldn't that be nice?

Today seems a little better so far. Fingers crossed. Yesterday turned into another Really Bad Day, so I'm really hoping I can keep it together and get through today. It will be 3 months on Saturday since I found out. But this past week, I have found myself suddenly thinking "WTH?? How can this be happening???" like it's a stunning new revelation. I don't get it. But, I guess that's just the way it is going to be and the best I can do is get through each day as well as I can and move on to the next. Blah.

Hopefully getting out for a run tonight. I really need to blow the cobwebs away and sweat some of this crap out.

Good Morning Everyone!

What a day, I woke up to snow! I've been patiently waiting to get out on my bike, but it looks like I'll have to wait a little while longer. Come on summer ;)

Hello everyone!

Elaine: Great to see you on the boards! Hope you have a great run!

Don: Please do keep us all posted. We are all pulling for you.

Bugqueen: I am still having difficulty with sugar--I took the 'Tame your Sugar Craving" challenge, and that has helped me a lot, but I still have moments when I cave in. I am trying not to be too hard on myself--it is a journey, with bumps and everything.

Hoops: I hope you start feeling better.

I hear you about eating too much sugar. I'm usually really good, but lately I have been eating rice krispies treats like crazy! And since I work at Kellogg's they are everywhere... what happened to my willpower?

Don - keep us in the loop, you're going through a lot, and going to see a Doctor for some answers is a great move.

Ebrand - Fantastic to see you, have a great run :)

Hi Audisp - I'm also hoping that eating well will help with my energy levels. I'm still eating too much sugar, so I have things to change about my diet.
Hi Ebrand! Great to see you too!! Enjoy your long run :)
Hi Donginzu - let us know what your doctor says, ok? Wishing only the best for you.

Definitely struggling at the moment. Was supposed to do my last long run before starting to taper for my HM this weekend but stupidly put it off on Saturday and yesterday ... was just a Very Bad Day. Made an appt to see the doc on Thursday. I'm thinking there's a chance I might maybe be depressed! :P

I understand about no energy. I've been tired all week and I get plenty of sleep. Did better eating this week, so I hope that will help improve my energy level. Hope all had a good weekend.

Confido - Yeah, definitely get a stability ball. When you do crunches, you get more out of them when you do them on a ball versus flat on a mat because you also use muscles to keep yourself on it. That's about all I use mine for, but I'll have to check out Coach Nicole's videos (thanks Hoops!)

Not much energy today, not sure why. Got plenty of sleep and am eating enough. Just the end of a busy week, I suppose!

Excellent, glad I could be helpful. If you ever use the workout generator, you can specify stability ball exercises with or without dumbbells. Coach Nicole also has some great videos using a stability ball. In one exercise she places it against a wall and does pushups on it so her upper body is at an incline rather than the usual decline pushups from the ball. They are killer!

Have a great weekend everyone :)

Hoops: Very cool idea! I think I will incorporate that into my daily routine, too. I have dumbells, so I can at least do bicep curls or squats while I'm watching. Maybe this will be a good excuse to get a stability ball, too. I've been thinking about getting one to try it out.

Hope everyone has an awesome Friday!

Hi Hoops - great advice, you are so right. I need to fit in exercise more often at home Today I'll have time for the gym though, but there will undoubtedly be a day next week that I'll be too busy. Half of this battle seems to be won by having a plan, so thank you for your advice - much appreciated!!

Happy Friday everyone, woo hoo!!

BQ - I've purchased a couple of things to help me at home, for when I have a hard time getting to the gym. I have a stability ball, a foam roller and 5 and 10 lb dumbbells. I find myself sitting on the ball to watch tv., and I do crunches, with or without dumbbells, overhead presses, bicep curls, tricep extensions, chest presses etc... It's been super handy. I hardly ever watch tv anymore that I'm not doing something. You'll squeeze in a little something, you've got this!

Yaay for softball! Not sure when the league starts up again here, but I hope to play again myself. I definitely could use the extra exercise!

Let's all make it an awesome day!
