Thank you all. My numbers are down since I started my program, Now I'll work toward a good A1C level.

Having sugar numbers that are high causes the need for all types of diabetes medicine which take the sugar out if the bloodstream and store it as fat. It is critical to keep or get the blood sugar numbers down. The best ways are eating only the amount if carbs that you need for energy. The only way to get blood sugar out without insulin is to burn the sugar up with energy use or exercise. Try gong with 15-30 carbs per meal and then take a 15 walk after the meal. Monitor your blood numbers more often when you are getting used to the new routine. Keep at it and you will achieve good health and less weight.

My confusion arose because my Dr. raised my insulin even though I am on a eating path to lose weight, and I don't want to hinder my progress.

Diabetes and glucose intolerance issues in general are the influence on your metabolism not the insulin.

Do insulin injections slow my metabolism and cause my body to store food as fat,rather than burning it, or eliminating it as waste?
