I couldn't figure this out earlier, but now it's set to reflect heart-healthy, pre-diabetic, and low blood pressure and cholesterol. Have the nifty glucose tracker. Now I need to talk to dr. tomorrow about possibly getting a tester. Thanks for the tips.

Hi team, Try selecting the Diabetes Management program within SparkPeople. Then set your fitness plan information on how much exercise you expect to get. That will allow their system to set your calorie and food composition ranges healthy for a diabetic at your exercise level. Then choose the Nutrition tracking option (drop down list) to turn on the meal plan display. They give us the recommended food choices by meal. There is also the ability to substitute from a list of acceptable options on a meal by meal or item by item basis. It's really easy. I've been using the tool for about 3 weeks and find it very valuable. I've also started to loose weight (after a long plateau) using the particular combinations that they recommend. YEAH!

I am new to this too. Well actually on my third week. I have pre-diabetes and hope to slow down my progression. I understand giving up sometimes too. It's just hard to keep up with all of life's demands and do this too. BUT we all need to make ourselves a priority. Think of it as ME time! And I feel so stupid. I just saw on the Challenge page that all the weeks exercises are posted there : P I was just doing things I found on the video selection page. Well will start with the other's now.

I would like to welcome u as well. WELCOME and tell u that U CAN DO IT AND STICK TO IT...today was my 7th wk here on the diabetes challenge, I have one more to go before I can find something else to work toward...I am usually one to give up too, but we are worth it, and we can do it. I know when u r starting something like this ~ 8 wks seems like an eternity...but let me tell you that it has flown by and I am glad I have stuck to it with the goals that I laid out when I started. Having these goals helped me to stay on track and it is now very rewarding to know that I CAN stick to something and do whatever I have to do to get where I want to be....SO please be precise in telling yourself what it is you want in these 8 wks. one of mine was to lose 16lbs in 8 wks (2lb/wk) I have one more to go and today was my 7th weigh in and I have lost 15. YOU CAN CAN CAN stick to this and do this!~
