Yummm...your recipe sounds really good! I will be sure to try this one. I kind of put myself in a rut and don't change recipes too often, but I think yours is a keeper! Thanks for sharing! emoticon emoticon

I had a cup of eggbeaters with 1/2 cup of chopped frozen spinach, 1/4 cup of chopped jalapenos, 6 sliced cherry tomatoes and one ounce of feta cheese, along with one slice of brownberry 100% whole wheat bread and a cup of skim milk. Amazingly filling and tons of protein, under 400 calories. Keeps me full forever! :)

I never skip breakfast. On work days its usually 1 cup cheerios with 1/2 banana and low fat milk . emoticon

Or 1/2 cup of dry oatmeal cooked in low fat milk not water. It's tastier and creamy that way. Maybe add some raisins while its cooking. emoticon

Often I may have an oz of low fat cheese or a tablespoon of natural peanut butter.....and of course, my emoticon

I never used to eat breakfast, but I notice it now when I don't... energy runs out and my willpower goes out the window because I end up getting too hungry later. Most mornings, I have a half a grapefruit, a glass of Kefir (as a probiotic with good protein), a slice of multi-grain 45-calorie toast (Brownberry) with a tbsp of peanut butter. Weekends, I'll have an egg sandwich with a 2% Kraft cheddar single and a morningstar hot & spicy "sausage" patty on a 100cal light English muffin. It's pretty tasty -- I find myself having one for dinner quite often too when nothing else sounds good.

Chris Powell and several other weight loss specialists recommend eating breakfast within 30 min of waking up and getting at least 30 grams of protein and 16 oz of water. I drink a protein shake with milk. I use Met RX Plus in chocolate flavor and mix it with non-fat milk. I buy it at Trade Joes but is also sold at other health stores. It's fast, low carb and holds off my appetite on me for several hours. I usually also eat a grapefruit.

Hi guys,
I know it is not a good things to skip breakfast; especially being a diabetic. However, I had to be back at work this morning at 5 a.m. I find myself not having an appetite that early in the morning. I always have my coffee. What do you think? Do I need to force myself to eat at 4 a.m. in the morning?

I had 1/2 a bagel with a tsp of cream cheese, and an orange. I usually try to get more protein but didn't today, I may have to try a protein shake or something, I get tired of eggs.

Today I had 1 cup of 1% cottage cheese and a tangerine. I have only just started on this site and after plugging in my food I am suprised to see that cottage cheese has so much protein (28g) for not a lot of calories! I will definitely continue to eat it as a breakfast option!

I have a shake almost every morning. It has 32 carbs and 20 protein. I make it with one package Carnation Essentials Sugar Free, 2 scoops of BeneProtein, 1/2 cup of mixed berries (frozen), 1/4 cup spinach (frozen) and one cup coconut milk. Whip it up in my Vitamix. It comes out thick and cold. I plan to start adding chia seed and maybe jut a squirt of chocolate syrup but it tastes good now.

When I don't have the shake, I eat greek yogurt or eggs. I love breakfast food but I don't like eating first thing in the morning. That is the hard part for me.

Lynn

Well Break fast is something that is not to be skipped and the first meal of the day. It energizes the body cells and one should not skip break fast. You may avoid having high carbs diet in your breakfast and may add something like fruits and salads to your breakfast. Take green tea if you want, as they are good for your health and do contain anti oxidants as free radical scavengers. But do remember to work out every day.

Hello everyone, I was wondering if any of you have tried a protien shake rather than eating a full breakfast? I am trying to find a low sugar/carb creatine mix but am having no luck!

I am wondering if this is a good idea as I cannot commit to eating breakfast daily.

Thanks!
Shannon Lynn

My blood sugar numbers are always highest when I wake so I do a pretty low carb breakfast. I mix MetRXPlus chocolate protein drink with either non-fat milk or cold water and eat a whole grapefruit. Then I have another snack 2 hrs later. I use the SP diabetes management meal plans for all other meals. They are easy and work great.

I get bored with breakfasts easily and I suppose they are all different...For me-my carb goal is 30 for each meal to manage my diabetes so for breakfast:

3 pieces of turkey bacon
1 egg
2 pieces of toast

greek yogurt and raspberries or blueberries

1 frozen waffle with peanut butter

rice krispies cereal with almond milk

cantaloupe and sausage links

french toast sticks with strawberries

oatmeal with almonds

or I'm running late I typically just grab a larabar
