Many people who don't like fish don't like the "fishy" taste. There are many great recipes that you may find enjoyable or at least palatable. There's a thread running under the 'The SparkPeople Cookbook' Official Team called "Fish Recipes" that has a lot of good recipes. Also Samantha from SP has just published a blog on fish recipes:

Thanks for sharing the info about the Med. diet. I'm not a huge fan of fish so I'm not sure how this lifestyle change will work for me. Any suggestions on what I could substitute?

The Mediterranean diet is THE healthiest diet going. All the health pundits recommend it because of its low fat, healthy fat, higgh fruit & veggie regime. It's similar to the DASH diet but even better. Tasty too Millions of Greeks and Italians can't be wrong!

I went to the Doctor today and she suggested the Mediterranean diet. She said it's not too high in carbs or sugar and help me to lose weight. I just thought I would share in case this can help anyone else. Here's a link to a website I found about it.

I've been having 2 scrambled eggs with veggies and an english muffin for breakfast and its under 30 carbs. I had to give up having a quick breakfast but it's worth it.

You need to be drinking 1% and better yet fat free milk. That will take care of your carbs. If you drink coffee the fat free milk is not good in it. I quit drinking coffee with meals. I will have a cup of coffee as a snack (or treat) and have a little cream in it. I don't do this often. That is why I have it as a treat.

Have you tried 1% or non fat? They are lower in carbs and calories

i did a 2 day diabetic class and learned today that instead of watching the sugar intake to help bloood glucose i need to watch carb count , we should have 45 grams of carbs for breakfast lunch and dinner and 15 to 30 for the 3 snacks we should be eating . just thought i would pass this on .
