I haven't posted my weight lose yet because it's been so slow and now it's about to come to a crawl because I got so many aches and pains that it's hard for me to do what I used to do.But I'm gonna push cause as long as I maintain and manage my weight I won't go back on meds. It's difficult when your over 50 and hurt. But it's also encouraging to have friends help and SP.
Great job Merideen.I too came off all meds, diabetes, pressure and the little purple pill.I was taken 9 pills a day back in 2005 and 1 year to that day no more meds,I still take my daily vits, calcium. But I've told so many ppl that I've met since then how I got to be pill free.So I know how you feel, keep going till u'r off completely.

Hello everyone, I joined Spark People back in Feb of 2011. I have not posted since I joined, just never could seem to get motivated to post my progress. I have been very motivated to control my diabetes this year, it just finally clicked after many years that a lifestyle change was the only way I could manage my Type 2 Diabetes. I am now down from my highest weight of 254 lbs several years ago to 193 and still motivated to keep eating right and exercising. My last AIC was 6 down from 7.4 and as of my last MD appointment about 1 month ago, I am off Amaryl and only taking Metformin now. Oh Happy day !!!, never thought that would happen ! So to all who are new to this forum, feel like it's struggle and that you cannot do it, take heed, you can win the battle if you just remember, it's all about your mind set.
