I am sorry you are feeling down and discouraged. Hang in there. This has been a life time battle for me so I can relate even though just starting this challenge. I am trying a new approach to life....looking at what I have accomplished opposed to when I have messed up or fallen off the wagon. Sorry I don't have any real words of wisdom for you.

The Lord doesn't expect us to work harder than we are able. He doesn't (nor should we) compare our efforts to those of others. Our Heavenly Father asks only that we do the best we can - that we work according to to our full capacity, however great or however small that may be.

Thank you all soooo very much for your words of encouragement. It is so hard for me when I get so down as I am usually an eternal optimist. I feel the hope coming back and I thank you all for helping me get there. I hope everyone is having a GREAT week so far and that you are moving onward and upward towards meeting all of your goals. BIG HUGS TO ALL!!!

When you lose your motivation really look at small steps. Instead of thinking I must do exercise. Think I must jog in place as I watch TV. If the weather is cooperative take just a 10 minute walk tell yourself I will walk 5 minutes out and five back.
Have you mapped your neighbourhood walks. found on the tracker under mileage "Map your route " and I put in my zip code. Found my house and Mapped exactly 1 mile from the front to the back it was fun to do and I printed it of. Walking my map takes me 20 minutes. Make a list of what you were doing and make sure you put favourites next to them. The more you make up exercises the more you can do them and think about it giving you more energy and better health. YOU CAN DO IT !!. I am at 67 years young go for it and smile at yourself while you do it, HUGS to all who need encouragement we all do at some time and giving it to others teaches you to get it yourself HUGS again Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon

Hi everyone today is a good day for me overall. I am tracking my food intake and exercise today, I actually got in a walk this morning with dh, we walked 1 mile and my legs told me about it. Now they are fine and I am looking forward to being able to walk more then that soon. My goal is 5 miles by my bday on May 26th.

For encouragement to all of you that have problems with motivation. Take it one step at a time and you will get there. I am learning that very fact. I ended up in a wheel chair for five months and I just got out of it about 2 months ago and now I am walking 1 mile this is an improvement from that 5 months of falling for no apparent reason.

Keep up the great work you are all doing. If you fall get back up and take the next step in the right direction don't stay down.

I remember a former pastor of mine always told me "Don't look down all you will see is defeat, so lift you head up and look to the heavens for the encouragement you need in every day life."

Son and hubby going to a funeral today and I am not I did not know the man he was my husband's ex wife's uncle.

Sorry this became longer then I was expecting.

Hugs
Shirley

One thing that I like to do is find something that weighs the same amount that I have lost. I lost a little weight before I joined Spark, so when I reached 20 pounds lost, I stuck a picture of my cat on my computer so I could visualize how significant that weight was. Any amount of weight loss is wonderful!!! Show off.

I'm in the same boat this week. After Easter feasting I can't seem to get enough sugar. Needless to say it isn't doing anything for my figure or my mood. I have jumped back into exercising and I'm hoping today is the day I can be sugar free! The afternoon is the worst time for me so I'm getting ready emotionally to defeat temptation. I wish the best for you. I know I always feel better about myself when I'm doing well so think how good you'll feel when you get back on track.

The weather can be really dreary. I like to keep my hands busy with crocheting because I can't be picking up food and getting the yarn dirty while I do it and I also get to see instant progress on my project. I especially love making baby blankets. They are so colorful and full of hope.
You did the right thing by reaching out. I know how hard it is to ask for help, but it shows that you really want to do this. I am proud of you! Hang in there.

I hope today is a better day. I am also from Ohio and the weather has been horrible the past week. The dreary days can really make you blue. Just know that your spark friends are thinking about you and are cheering for you. Hang in there.

Hey everyone. I got into a bit of a slump toward the end of week 5 and my motivation this week week 6 for me) is in the dumpster. I regained 3 pounds last week and have not been feeling the greatest. Combine all that with this dreary, rainy weather and not being able to get out of the house much and it is starting to spell disaster. I've found the previous 5 weeks that I've been able to pull myself up and outta this "funk" if/when it creeps up, but it seems to be holding on for dear life this week so any advice, encouragement or words of wisdom anyone has to share to help pull me out of this ditch will be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance for being so great and providing a strong support system for me and each other.
