Wondering if anyone has any advice...
I develop, what I think are, shin splints ALL THE TIME. No matter what. I jog slowly (5 mph), did the C25K progam so I was taking it slow, have new supported running shoes (Brooks), have tried calf compressions, drink enough water, nutrition is very good... everything I can think of. Yet my shin is KILLING me. Last year I did the C25K program and got to the 5k mark... then had some physical/medical problems that needed attention and took time off of running for the winter. I started the C25K program again this year bc I knew I had to take it slow and I cannot get past 1.5 mile mark w/o having to stop bc my leg is hurting so bad. Sigh.. I am starting to think I just need to give up running. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to share.
