Great day yesterday!

I'm going out for a run this morning in the 50 degree temps.! It'll be a slow one, but a run none the less.

Have a great day!

This old lady still has it! I played really well at the game last night. I hit the ball every time I got up to bat! I even surprised everyone with a pretty good hit! I won't lie though, my body ached when I was finished. Still, I had fun! I really don't think these kids realize just how old I am, which is ok. I sometimes forget how old I am too!

This morning is beautiful! Cooler temps. It would be a perfect day for a run, but I'm going to settle for a walk/jog instead. Maybe even just a walk. I will have to see how I feel when I start out. I have so many things to get done today and with the weather the way it is, it shouldn't be too hard. First thing though, is going to be a visit to the Chiropractor. Keeping my fingers crossed that he can help me.

Have a nice day!

Long day yesterday. A tough, hot and humid run/walk this morning. Keeping my fingers crossed the Chiropractor will do some good for me tomorrow. I need sleep really bad.

The rest of today will be a mixed bag. I've got pickles to can and some other work around the house and then off to play softball tonight. Not looking forward to that. This is a bad time of the year. So many of these kids have things going on and can't make it to the games so the old lady gets stuck playing. Usually I wouldn't call myself that, but when it comes to softball, I am playing with a bunch of 20 and early 30 yr olds who can hit the ball and throw it pretty darn far. Still keeping my fingers crossed that someone else shows up.

We've sort of had that Fall feeling here where it gets cool overnight and warms up during the day. It's been breezy too, something we haven't had all summer.

I ran 5 miles with a water stop and then a very short walk (running into the wind again). I'm ok with theses stop and goes now especially when it's a bit warmer.

Rest day today! Softball tournament to go to, the farmers market and whatever else we decide to do. It's going to be an enjoyable August 1st!

We're in the rainy season so sometime during the day, we will get that soaking followed by sunshine. Lately, it has caused flooding. But, we find the breaks to run, swim, and bike!

The last day of July! emoticon Softball is coming to an end and soon everything else will be too. The back to school sales have all begun and soon the buses will be rolling. I'm not ready to let go of summer even though fall is my favorite time of year.

It should be a cooler run this morning with low humidity. Looking forward to that!

I just made it before it started raining. A light rain would've felt good, but its coming down pretty good and we were suppose to have thunder and lightning along with it. I'm hoping when the storms move out they take the humidity with them.

I hope everyone has a great day! Remember to get out there and run! emoticon

We've been lucky to not have any events cancelled. Sometimes I wish they would especially if I feel I'm not prepared. Yesterday mornings's schedule didn't allow me to get out for a run before the heat and humidity came so when I was done with the work around the house and my errands run, I headed downstairs to do a couple of miles on the treadmill. I was going to just take the weekend off but I had a little anxiety and felt I needed to work it out of me. Definitely helped. This morning I will go out for a run despite it being humid. If I have to walk, I will be ok with that. The humidity should be out of here by Wednesday.

Well the Tri Gods determined we would not race yesterday! We respect Race Directors call and know we will race another day.
emoticon
But as others know, when you are ready to rock, and it doesn't happen, we left the race site a bit unfulfilled. The truth of the matter is, all of us who hung out in Transition and stood at the Gulf shores waiting, made the best of it and had good times socializing with teammates and friends! It's all a part of the journey!

Positive Waves!

It looks like rain here also. I'm holding off my run until I know for sure its not going to storm. If it storms, I will hop on the treadmill. The sky was quite orange this morning when I went out for the paper. Plus I sort of slept in so I'm a little slower this morning. I will get out and do something. Just not sure what at this point.

Ran a super slow 3 miles last night just to stay loose. My Achilles is slightly sore. This morning, I'm feeling good. Taped properly, I'll be able to go at Saturday's Top Gun Tri! I'll be better warmed up after the swim and bike! I'll pace to the pain!

That sounds pretty cool MIRAGE! I imagine it's a challenge to run on the beach.

Yesterday was a perfect day! I went out for a really nice run. No route planned, just ran wherever. I ended up with almost 5 miles. In fact the distance was over 5 miles, but I did a walk after 4 for a bit because I was hot. Started running again when I hit shade.

Today I will probably either just walk or do a jog/walk. emoticon

Friday night, I ran in this Sunsets at Pier 60 Race Series. It starts with a Kids 1 Mile Run followed by a 5K on Clearwater Beach. Literally, it's on the sands right next to the water break! I had a sore Achilles so I took it easy but all things considered,. I did pretty good. More than half of our Triathlon runs here will include running on sand or beach trail so it's good practice.
We also have the Madeira Beach Series, held on the beach as well! I have to say it definitely is sweet to have these beach runs!

Non running day today. I'm hoping it clears off so we can hit the pool this afternoon. Hopefully after a busy kid filled pool day yesterday, it will be a bit quieter there today. Need to get some laps in. Tomorrow will be much less humid so a run will be nice then. emoticon

Good morning!

Sunday was a great ending to my week off! Went for a nice 5 mile run in the morning, followed by swimming laps at our local Aquatic Center. Then a surprise at the co rec softball game. They were short a player and I got stuck playing. I am the last resort player. It was fun though and we did win.

My body is very sore this morning, but I'm going to try and get a walk in. No running! Plus it's quite humid outside.

It turned out to be a very lazy Saturday. I've got a lot to get done today including my run. Low ambition. emoticon That may be from all of the garbage I consumed last week. Today it's back to healthy eating. Unless my scale isn't working right, I didn't gain any weight which is a good thing. The exercise paid off in that respect. Now it's time to concentrate on losing again. emoticon

What a great week! The weather was perfect. I got my runs in along with swimming and biking. Too much good food, but no weight gain. Tomorrow will be back to healthy eating again.

Yesterday we went on a bike trail. This trail is huge. It goes through a big portion of SE MN. We managed 24 miles. Next time we will use the mountain bikes. Although the trail is paved, there are a lot of bumps and dips due to settling. Our bottoms were a bit sore. Afterwards we had lunch and ice cream! The ice cream was my incentive to ride. Very well worth it.

My son and DH built a new fire pit last night so we enjoyed a fire along with s'mores, hot dogs and popcorn. I can't forget the beer! Storms possible today. If not, it may be a pool day. It's also Farmer's Market Day!

Have a great Sat.!

We went to the track yesterday. Didn't really do what I had hoped for, but I did get a little speed work in. My calves are still feeling it from swimming on Sunday. Today I'll get out for an easy run. Then it's off to my moms to mow her lawn. Tomorrow I'm hoping to do some biking.

I've resigned myself to running at least 3 times a week at short distances and 2-3 minutes slower than race pace. I find that gets me better endurance and conditioning! We'll see how it affects my speed.

That's what I need to do is a fun run! I've been keeping a pretty consistent pace and I'm ok with that. Next week when I'm on vacation, I may do intervals and work on getting a bit faster, but it all depends on the weather. If it's too hot, forget it. I'll go swimming instead! Which I hope to do anyway.

Today it's a early morning meeting and then I'm going to get out for a walk before I have to go back in to work.

Enjoy the 1st day of July!

Good morning!

Another run with my son this morning. We don't go the same pace, but I'm glad he's getting out. The mornings have been perfect for running so far this week.

I don't have any 5k's planned in the near future. I'm just taking it day by day.

Enjoy your day! emoticon

Strangest thing happen last night. I came home from Run Club and, out of nowhere, my body was aching and I was running a slight fever. This morning I was feeling just as nasty. Right now, I'm still dealing with a little body aches but not as bad as last night! Very weird. I just stayed in bed, drank lots of liquids, and watched cooking shows and The Talk!
Yeah, I'm over it now!

It didn't help that we were late and needed to squeeze in where we could. I should've been a bit farther back. I'm sure if I learned to pace myself better, I would enjoy doing these races more. Something to work on.

A beautiful morning to get out for a run. Before it gets hot!

Have a great day! emoticon

Yay, Beckyanne! You made the podium!

It's tough when you first start out fast. I have such a problem at the starting line. I will get off fast then settle in to a solid pace. I hate top get caught up in a pack. Within the first half mile, it will thin out. It's all about a good race plan and sticking to it.

Have a great Monday!

The storms ended before the start of the race. We made it there with only 2 min. to spare. They changed the route and so I started out way to fast again. I ended up taking 2 short walks to catch my breath. It wasn't my best time, but it earned me 1st in my age group! Very small turnout for this race this year. Not sure if the rain kept everyone away or what. Any way, I have work to do to get me back to where I was.

Beautiful day ahead and many things to do.

5k race this morning? Not sure if it will happen. We have storms moving thru and we could see some severe weather. Tomorrow will be a nice day which means a nice run. I just need to get some type of a workout in today. (Besides shopping)

Have a great day!

Yesterday I had walk/jog intervals for about an hour on a 8 km (nearly 5 miles) route with an average speed of 7,3 km/h. I'm proud of myself! emoticon

Taking my Urban Assault Vehicle to the Car Wash for Detailing. Since it's on the beach, I decided to drop it off and hit some cardio by the Gulf! It will be a nice slow, enjoy the view workout! I love living here in Paradise!

emoticon NEREA!

I'm concentrating on doing shorter runs now. when the time is right, I will increase them, but for now, I'm not going to over do it.

It's a bit cooler this morning plus there is a breeze. (Rain is headed our way again!). I will get a short run in this morning before it starts.

This morning I ran for 1,85 km (1,15 miles) in a row and it took me about 12 minutes. It might seem nothing but for me it was a big goal reached! emoticon emoticon

I pace myself...never worry about the speed...hydrate good...just a nice easy run never longer than 3 miles at a time. Soon as I work out this calf issue, I'm going to run short distances more ofter...maybe two miles every other day. Going to do a quick walk today.

MIRAGE-how do you manage to run in that humidity? I went for a run yesterday morning and thought I was gonna die. The air was so heavy and it made breathing difficult. I did make the mistake of not taking water with me on my run. I really didn't expect it to be that bad. I ended up running 2 miles, walking a mile and then running another mile.

This afternoon, while my son is resting, I will go out for a walk. The humidity should be down by then.

I'll be anxious to see what you find out MIRAGE!

Yesterday was extremely humid which brought on a headache. I ended up on the treadmill which wasn't that great. It was really hard to breathe in that humid air. (Very humid inside also)
I should've done it last night after the air was turned on.

Rain is in the forecast today, but I'm going to try and get out befor it comes. Right now we have fog and it's pretty gloomy.

We had rain yesterday so I made it a rest day. Getting on the treadmill is tough because it's not warm enough to turn the a/c on, but it's warm and a bit humid so you get over heated really fast. I have a fan that I turn on, but it's not that much help theses days.

It's foggy and gloomy this morning but no rain so I should be able to get outside this morning.

Talking about sore calves, mine still hurt from doing the elliptical last week. I guess I need to get on that thing more.

Have a nice Sunday!

I did the Rap River Run in New Port Richey, FL this morning! It was the first 5K since I did a practice 5K a couple of weeks ago. It was decent but now my best. Considering I've been on injury/illness sabbatical, I can't complain. BUT my calves are hurting! WTH? I stretch when I'm supposed to, have a passable warmup but this calf thing is starting to concern me!
