We had a really nice run yesterday. The temps were perfect. A little on the windy side, but we planned to route out so we didn't have to do long runs into the wind. The sun was out which made it feel really warm. Today is another story. Snow, wind and cold! That will pretty much be the story most of the week. Should see a warm up this weekend again. We're getting close to the time where we should see those warm ups more than the cold.

Treadmill today!

Have a great Monday!

An outdoor run with my son is planned for this morning. We've got rain, snow and blowing snow with near blizzard conditions headed our way later today and tonight. So far so good with the plan. Next week a back to normal work week finally after months of going in early. I should be able to get some good workouts in again!

MIRAGE-Yes you do! emoticon

Today is my treadmill run. Just saw an add for a Cheesecake run. Too bad it's not close to where I live! I would definitely run for a slice of Cheesecake Factory Cheesecake! emoticon

I'm remaining on track, but eating will be a struggle this weekend so I will have to work hard on exercising. It's time to start planning out some of my races again. I would like to avoid the same old, but my son is new to these races and wants me to do them.

Have a great Friday! emoticon

I'm focused on doing my Best Dame Race Half as a training run. It's safer as I just came out of an illness and I would probably enjoy the view anyway! I'm just looking for a comfy pace. I truly haven't trained for it but knocked out a Half in November and had fun with that one. I'm just going to be careful.
Maybe it's a 'cause a teammate told me at Run Club last night her place is on the race course. She's bringing her sofa out and making Mimosas for all who wish to partake. Gotta support my Teammate!

We got our snow yesterday! The bank closed early so I was able to come home and relax before I jumped on the bike trainer. Everyone else had been home since before noon.

It's still snowing but very lightly. It's very pretty out there and I will watch it while on the treadmill this morning. (That's after I go and shovel my moms driveway!)

Have a great day!

emoticon on the run! 12 min. pace is really good!

Yesterday couldn't have been much more perfect for a run. Upper 40's, light breeze and sun shine! The bike path was full of walkers, runners, and even some bikers! And yes, there were runners wearing shorts! It wasn't my best run, but I blame that on the fact that I haven't had a rest day and my calves are sore from the elliptical workout I did on Thursday. It just felt great to get outside. Today is still mild, but its a little wet out. We've had a light drizzle going on. Next comes the big snowfall we may get on Tuesday. emoticon Then the cold returns. I will enjoy the next couple of days. emoticon

Finished my week 4 of the training program with the 40 minute run. I slowed down twice but did not stop this time. I also used a few mantras this time to keep pushing. Overall it ended up a 12 minute mile pace. Feeling good! -MHP

I am so glad it's Friday! It's been a long week! It looks like it may be a messy weekend. There's also the potential for a major snow storm next week. Not ready for that, but we really haven't had much in the way of snow. Keeping my fingers crossed that it goes South! emoticon

Welcome, Miranda!

Pace is important when you start off. Conditioning and Strengthening is huge when you start off or have been away from running due to injury or illness. Take your speed down a notch and set your goal for 15 minutes then go from there. Don't worry about speed.

You will have days like that. The treadmill is tough. It's hard to stay focused. You got back on and that's what counts! You will get past that.

Cross training today. Not exactly sure what I'm going to do. It will be dependent on how I feel after my meeting this morning. They always stress me out because I have to take time away from my free time to go to these and they're happening more often. (I have a manager that thinks they are so beneficial and none of us seem to think so, but who are we!)

Getting so close to the weekend and we're suppose to see 40 degree temps. and rain, snow and freezing rain! I just want one day of warm temps and sunshine!

My run today was a lot harder than it should've been. I always hit a 15 minute wall, it got in my head, and I actually stopped. Then I got mad at myself and got back on the treadmill and finished, but it wasn't great. Ugh.

Freezing drizzle and snow expected today! emoticon Thankfully not much accumulation expected. Just enough to make things slippery. emoticon Healthy eating was much better yesterday. I did get in a short run. I'm having a tough time getting out in the cold. Wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't chilled in the house. Once I warmed up in the afternoon, I was able to get on the treadmill. I need those warmer temps. and some sunshine! I don't have the same determination I had a couple of years ago. Someday I will get it back! emoticon

Good Morning! emoticon

It's the start of a new week! My exercise plan has been right on. Food on the other hand needs work. I do great until the weekend. Friday night and Saturday this week. We went out to eat 2 times which is unusual for us. Today is a new day and I will stick to the plan. emoticon Since it's the weekend, I'm going to get outside for a run since I can do it a little later. Hopefully there won't be too much ice out there as we had a bit of freezing drizzle.
Thank goodness we aren't on the East Coast! We have had it pretty easy here in the Midwest. Only one major storm and just dustings since then.

Our local grocery store has started online shopping and they deliver so yesterday I gave it a shot. I figured it was a good way to avoid buying things I didn't need. It was a bit more time consuming than I thought and it was a learning experience. Example: I ordered bananas. At least I thought I did. Turned out I ordered 1 banana not a bunch! Good thing I still had a few left. Anyway, it worked out great! As an added bonus, my sons girlfriend did the shopping and my son made the delivery! We will see now how many times I will go to the store for things I forgot to order! emoticon

Have a wonderful Sunday!

I went outside for a walk yesterday morning! The fresh air does wonders. I may attempt a run/walk today instead of hopping on the treadmill. I say run/walk because I'm limited to where I can go out here because of the snow, so it's basically back and forth on the road. Quite boring I may add! Mild weekend ahead but no sunshine! I guess we can't have everything!

Have a great day!

I put mine in my pocket, but I have knocked it out of my pocket many times. You could get a spibelt or fanny pack to wear. That way you can zip it in. Not sure what else except another arm band.

Cross training today, plus the temps are above zero so I might just get outside for a walk and some fresh air.

Have a nice day!

Hi everybody, I'm in week 3 of the 5k program. I listen to music or audio books on my phone while on the treadmill, plugging headphones into my phone. I have a worn out Velcro strap that goes on my arm I've used in the past to put my phone in to be hands free, I've tried pockets, and even setting my phone on the shelf on my treadmill. That results in my phone bouncing down the belt while I try not to step on it, and having to stop and fix everything. Any suggestions on strap brands or anything that works for you all? Thanks! Miranda

1 hr bike ride on the trainer yesterday. Today it's the treadmill. I found an article that has a lot of different intervals you can do on the treadmill, Some are easy and some are very challenging. I'm going to pic a few out to try next starting next week. I would still prefer to get outside and the weekend is still looking good for that.

Treadmill day today! Some did venture out into the cold yesterday, but they said it was very cold. Water bottles froze even after adding things to them to keep them from not freezing. To me, it's a good indication that it's probably a good idea to stay inside. Besides, I have a hard time running with something covering my nose and mouth. I feel like I can't breathe right. We should see a warm up mid week, but until then, it's indoor workouts for me!

I had a perfect day yesterday! I started the day on the treadmill and then a went for a massage, followed by a chiropractor visit. Afterwards, lunch and some shopping. Although my lunch wasn't all that healthy, I'm feeling really good. I've stuck to my plan all week and I think it has paid off!

2 yrs ago, I was doing really well. Last year I wasn't. I thought about what I was doing wrong (besides the injuries) and found that I wasn't doing enough cross training. I didn't bike as much or anything else. This year I'm going to make a special effort to do more in hopes that I will be able to avoid some of these problems.

16 miles on the bike trainer yesterday! That's taking a bit to get used to. Today I'm on the treadmill. I'm hoping that I can get outside tomorrow or Friday. No shorts yet though! Only 20's and low 30's.

emoticon MIRAGE!

My runs are easy runs. My legs have been feeling much better and I'm not willing to mess that up. I will save any speed work for when the weather gets nice. That's if it really matters by then. I would rather run a race and finish and feel good than run a race and limp around for the next few weeks.

Have a great Tues.!

Yesterday was my 5 mile treadmill run which I ended up running 6. I'm doing really well on the treadmill. So far my legs aren't giving me any trouble. I just need to stick to my plan. Today is a short run and tomorrow is some sort of cross training. All inside because of the weather. I have cold weather gear, but it doesn't really handle this type of cold. Looking forward to warmer temps. (whenever that is)

Treadmill run yesterday after my meeting so today can be my rest day. The bitter cold has arrived! All of the rain and snow from last last few days is turning to ice. It looks like we're in for some below zero wind chills on top of it. emoticon Tomorrow is definitely going to be a stay inside sort of day!

I rode 1 hr on the bike trainer last night. My legs always feel like rubber when I'm done. I'm starting out easy and then I will make it more challenging when I get used to it.

Today is suppose to be a run, but I may make it a rest day and run tomorrow when I have more time. I will see how things are after my morning meeting.

Very cold temps arrive Saturday night and will last into much of next week.

Have a great Friday!

I had a good workout yesterday on the treadmill. I still would rather be outside but time and cold temps are keeping me inside during the week. Now we have a cold blast coming this weekend. Single digit to below 0 temps will make it hard to want to get outside.

My meals were good yesterday. I did do a bit of grazing last night due to anxiety from one of by sons. I'm sure it probably made me go a bit out of my calorie range, but not enough to affect the scale. Will do better the rest of the week.

4 mile run (with a bit of walking) yesterday around the lake. There was a very cold wind so that's where the walking came in. I need to do more outdoor running and less on the treadmill. My first mile was great. Going into the 3rd mile, my legs felt like rubber and I felt like I was barely moving. Since yesterday was suppose to be my rest day, I will be running also today to stay on my schedule. Friday ended up being my rest day because of all of the stuff I needed to get done.

Big football game tonight. It's a border battle between the Packers and Vikings!

Go Vikings! emoticon

With everything that needed to be done yesterday, the run was put on hold. My DS and I will head out this morning for a run. He went out last night around here. I was too tired to even think about it.

As soon as all of the Xmas stuff was put away and everything back in order, I felt this calm that I've been needing for awhile. I don't do well with clutter and it seems to be getting worse. It may also have to do with the fact that I've been having extra people and animals staying here too.

My one big resolution for this year is to simplify my life. If I can accomplish that, everything else will fall into place!

5 mile treadmill run yesterday, plus a 1 mile walk. Today is some form of cross training. Not quite sure what yet. Maybe some biking to work other muscles.

Have a great day! emoticon emoticon

Elliptical workout yesterday and then I walked a mile on the treadmill to loosen my legs up. I tend to get really sore calves when I use the elliptical.

Today is another run day. DS wants to run outside but I have to go out so early and its cold! Plus everything freezes up overnight and isn't thawed out. I will probably do a treadmill run and save the outdoor run for the 3 day weekend.

2 days on the treadmill. Today I will do some core work and maybe hit the elliptical. I need to get my bike set up inside now that the temps have dropped and we have snow. First we have to put all of our Christmas decor away. That will be done on New Year's Day!

There is a New Years run, but the weather looks frightful so I will have to wait and see. When it's cold, I prefer to run later in the day when the temps have had a chance to warm up.

Have a great day!

5 mile treadmill run on Sunday. It's getting easier so now it's time to up the speed a bit. My goal eventually is to get back to where I was without pain. It may take awhile yet, but I will be patient.

Treadmill today! It looks like part of my exercise this week will be in the form of shoveling.

The Christmas holiday is over and now it's back to watching my calories. It is always easier to get back on track after you've been indulging. Healthy food just tastes so good.

Today I'm shopping and getting stuff back in order in my house. Tomorrow I will be back running. I ran Thursday morning on the treadmill, but haven't done it since. I was exhausted yesterday so I didn't get a Christmas run in. I will shoot for a New Years run instead since I don't go out and celebrate on New Years Eve.

Have a wonderful Saturday!

Yesterday turned into a very interesting winter mess. Started out as rain most of the day, but quickly turned into sleet and then snow. It was a slushy mess! I did not go on the Xmas lights run even though many did. I lack the confidence in running on slippery surfaces especially at night. In addition, I didn't want to deal with traffic especially since this was pretty much the first snowfall of the year and we always need to re-learn our driving skills. Instead we finished up the errands we didn't get done.

It will be another treadmill run this morning with hopes of an outdoor Christmas run tomorrow.

Have a wonderful Christmas! emoticon emoticon

The weather looks to be frightful at least thru today. We may get a break tomorrow and Xmas day, but Xmas evening looks to be interesting. It looks like we may see our first measurable snow coming up.

I've got errands to run this morning, but I'm going to get on the treadmill first. I'm really feeling unhealthy this week. Way too many sweets. I know it's going to continue and I will allow myself the cheats thru Dec. 25. Dec. 26 I'm back to calorie counting. Plus I'm going to get back on my schedule before this unhealthy lifestyle becomes habit!

I was hoping to get outside for a run yesterday, but it was raining and quite gloomy so the treadmill was the next best thing! Things have been going well on the treadmill. I did 5 miles with less than a mile of walking as a cool down.

Meetings this morning so I'm not sure what kind of workout I will squeeze in.

Have a great day!

I have not ran since Friday. I was going to go yesterday, but I've had so much to do, I decided that I needed to get everything done. I'm so glad I did. It removed a lot of stress I've been dealing with. My goal was to get things done so I could enjoy this week. It's a little misty this morning, but I'm going to get out. I don't really care if it's a run or a walk. I just need to get out!

Have a great Monday! I have only 3 days of work this week! emoticon emoticon

Yesterday was another treadmill day! I need to do one more workout this week which will probably be today. I'm hoping by tomorrow I have everything done that I need to get done so that Sunday I can get back to my normal schedule. Sunday is suppose to be a bit warmer so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can head outside for a run.

There have been too many goodies around and my body is starting to feel it. Not good! I need to get back on track.

Have a great Friday! emoticon

Another treadmill day today! The weather is just nasty. Extremely windy and cold! We finally have wind chills! There should be a warm up by Sat. though. I'm planning on an outdoor run this weekend!

Good workout, Beckyanne! I have a 5K this weekend but I'm, taking it very casual. I wanted to let my Achilles rest and work my IT Band out so I haven't done any extra mileage. I'm hoping for a low pain run. We'll see!

3 mile treadmill run plus another 2 walking on the treadmill yesterday. im taking it easy this week with hopes that by next week, I will be feeling up to working a little harder. I have a lot going on in my head right now that I need to get done and I know that until everything is done, I'm going to be stressed which means I won't have a good workout. My goal is to get everything done by the weekend. Then I can sit back and enjoy next week and hopefully get out for one of the holiday runs that the running club has planned.

Have a great day!

I would take that weather right now. We've had rain and wind and although the temps are mild for MN, it's damp and cold. More normal temps are coming by the end of the week. That's when we should see some sunshine!

I would like to get out for a holiday drive to see the decorations. It used to be a tradition when the kids were little. I'm really feeling that the lack of snow is having an affect on the holiday spirit this year. Although I'm loving the temps and no snow on the roads, it just doesn't seem like Xmas. It's feeling more like Fall. I've heard so many say the same thing. If only we could just have snow on the grassy areas and not on the streets and sidewalks and driveways. I don't think we can arrange that though. Had the rain we've had the last few days been snow, we would've had over 2 feet of the white stuff. That would've shut things down here and gave many a day of vacation! Oh well! Instead I will grab my umbrella!

Have a great day!

It actually got warmer here in Tampa Bay! Saturday night, I took D, Gianna, and her Mommy to Largo Botanical Gardens for their Holiday Lights Event then to Largo Central Park for the Holiday Stroll. I was in shorts at 81 degrees. That's how we roll in Paradise!

It has been raining steady here. It looks like I'm going to be on the treadmill at least for today and possibly mid week. I have alot to get done this week so it's going to work out fine.

Close to another 4 miles yesterday. I would've went the extra distance but I didn't have enough time. Today is my rest day (from exercise that is). I've just got too many things to do and I will be on my feet enough today.

4 mile run yesterday. It's crazy to see people out biking, etc in Dec. I over dressed yesterday. I wasn't sure how cold it really was. Today I'm going to try and get out again because tomorrow is my rest day plus I have a lot to do.
