As a runner, I've full embraced Yoga! During my session today, I was finding out what muscles I need to work on as well as my flexibility and balance. This can only help me work a better run stride and prevent future run injuries! Namaste.

I have to admit I'm not very good with stretching. I do walk after I run.

I'm wondering if everyone is doing due diligence with their stretching after every running session. It's essential to safe cooling down and prevents DOMS. I try to do it after every race and every training session. Every runner should make it a part of their routine.

Because I've had an Achilles issue of the last 45 days, I learned a lot more about it. It hasn't stopped me from doing 3 5Ks & 1 Half in that time span but I've been attentive to the care. I've actually felt better after every run! Here's a vid that gives awareness and importance to the AT.

Needless to say, SparkPeople provides an excellent overview on the "care & feeding of your AT!

One of the great things about this journey is continuous education. We never get enough and it just makes us better runners! Stay strong!

Not enough! I notice when I skip the calf, hamstring and thigh stretches as I'm more achy in the joints the next day - a good reminder I guess!

I definitely do the calf & hamstring stretch, but I also do a hurdle-type stretch. It starts out as a really long lunge, then I drop the back knee to the ground, then I sit back to stretch out the front leg. I also do some good morning toe touches every morning, right out of the shower. It stretches the hams & lower back! emoticon

I saw this article titled "6 stretches that every runner should do"
www.sparkpeople.com/resource/fitness

I know that I have a few favorite stretches that I do every time(I love the calf stretch in this article), and I was wondering if other people change up their stretches or stick to a few favorites, which stretches work well for them, and if there is anyone who never stretches after they run.
