Can't believe I waited almost a year to post to message boards everyone is so sweet :')
Shoes helped me immensely! Hope you are able to find stretches ect and are able to ROCK you 5K!!
There are also some stretches you can do as well. For example kneel down and sit on your heels and lean back. That helps stretch that area. Good luck.

So even before I started the 5K Your Way program, I did a little jogging and got shin splints. Does anyone have any advice? I'm really enjoying working up to a 5K and I do NOT want to stop, but everyone I've asked has just told me to stop running and stick to walking! I know I need better shoes, but beyond that...any help? Any special stretches I can do before/after? Work on my form? Please!
