I want to start the walk/jog training. I'm guessing there is some kind of stop watch/timer you can buy that will beep for you so you don't have to keep looking at your watch to see when your 3 mins walking is up and then do your 1 min jogging? Any recommendations on this appreciated.

I did it! I did it! Amazing! My church sponsored a family fun 5K today ... just in time for my Trick or Treat Trot. Was able to jog most of the way (slowly), with a couple of short walk sessions.
I was so nervous to start ... especially seeing all the "runners" there ... but I swallowed my pride and told myself, "you just have to start where you are," and did the best I could. I am so thankful for a husband and 16-year-old son who came along to support me, and rather than move at their much faster pace they stayed with me. My son actually juggled the whole way, which brought a lot of smiles to everyone there!
It has been quite a confidence builder ... I want to continue to train and improve. I figure as I continue to lose weight and continue to train, there'll be no stopping me!! Hooray!
