Obama keeps stoking the flames, saying now that "HE" could be Trayvon. The only similarity I can see is that both Obama and Trayvon were drug users. Otherwise they were cultural opposites. Division is part of Obama's Alinsky ideology, and it is working to destroy our country.

Well, Oakie, I agree. It's all about race. Obama said so, therefore, it is. Obama says that African-Americans look at this incident through the eyes of history. Well, that's an interesting thought, but this isn't 1930, and the Zimmerman trial wasn't about race. However, I guess that doesn't matter. Race sells newspapers and keeps money rolling in for old, burned-out racial activists like Jackson and Sharpton.

::: sigh :::

Just a point ... if, on some rainy, dark night, someone sucker-punched me and proceeded to pound my head on the sidewalk, I'd do about anything to make him stop. It wouldn't matter much to me what his sexual orientation was, his religion, or color. It would be a matter of survival. That's it. Case closed.

And another thing, Mr Obama ... you weren't elected for your leadership ability, your economic genius, or foreign policy achievements. You see, if it wasn't for race, you wouldn't be president.

If you ask me, Obama just made things worse. He comes out and speaks to the press, telling them that Trayvon could have been him, years ago. He proceeds to talk about race--how if this was a white kid things would probably have had a different outcome.
This is putting race back in the topic. People keep injecting race into this. Zimmerman is not white. Zimmerman was looking at actions. Zimmerman said on the 911 tape that "he looks like he is on drugs." He was asked what color TM was and he says he looks black. That means he wasn't sure. So, he wasn't following because TM was black, but that he looked like he was on drugs and was acting in a suspicious manner. TM had the opportunity to go home because Zimmerman lost track of him and was headed back to his car. That's when TM came up behind Zimmerman and engaged him. After GZ was slugged and down on the ground, that's when GZ felt threatened enough to use his gun. The media is the one who injected race in the whole situation. Now the president is pour gasoline on that racism fire. Anger is making people not look at the evidence.

DH & I were amazed and elated to hear the verdict. Could hardly believe our ears! As this plays out in the media and online it is disturbing how this will drag on. When you are in leadership, you need to think of the good for all.

I cried with relief when I heard the not guilty verdict. I know he's still going to be persecuted but at least he's not in jail trying to win an appeal. With the way the media is, we'll keep hearing how Trayvon was just an unarmed 17 year old out to get a bag of candy and a can of tea. From other sources I've seen that there was a chance he was trying to obtain a gun, he was known to be in fights where he busted people in the nose to cause damage, and there is a drug concoction made using sweet drinks and candy (like Skittles). I have no idea if that is all true. I did hear that the prosecutor fired a worker last week for letting the defense team know he had obtained photos form Trayvon's cell phone that he thought the defense should have been aware of. Maybe if there is a lawsuit against Zimmerman (wrongful death) by the Martin family, his attorneys will be allowed to gather this evidence and use it in Zimmernan's defense.

BEAVER , parents need to be parents .... not our job to be their friend. If I had a dime for every time my kids told me they HATE me I'd be a millionaire! LOL Now I have a good relationship with all of them as they are older and they see how I raised them to be responsible, they now say thank you!

My pastor brought a message entitled Monarch or Mascot today. Meaning: is Jesus treated in your life as the head, the ruler, the one that you follow and listen to or do you think he is your cheerleader? Does he rule your life or do you just have him in your life to say "Way to go" "Good for you" "That's the way" and just approve of Your choices in your life.

Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7

Chris, my mother & grandmother used to say the same thing, but apparently not enough parents do this anymore. We're living in the Judges 17:6 situation: "In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes." I hope I'm right that more people are beginning to see this and realize we've forgotten who the King is!

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)

Ron, great quote from William Penn ... thanks for posting that. It applies to the vast majority of legislation being proposed in recent years. It reminds me of the way teenagers always defend their requests with "but all my friends are doing it" ... Uh-huh.

At this time in my life, I am seldom truly surprised. However, when the verdict came in last evening, I must say I was amazed. Were I a gambler, I'd have lost a bunch of money on that wager.

Praise the Lord, and Hello Lady Justice!!

Be assured, though, that I'm sorry for the Martin family, and indeed, Trayvon. He made the wrong call and paid the price. Yes, it's sad.

And, peace for the Zimmerman family. Their life has changed forever, but Time takes care of everything. I wish them well.

And, to Obama for escalating a bad situation ... well ... that can wait for later.

I shed tears of joy when the verdict was read. This time, a Central Florida got it right, instead of letting a murderous go free.

I had also heard that the feds can still file charges for civil rights violations. That may be difficult for them, though. The NYT (bird cage liner in chief) made up the term "white Hispanic," as that fit their narrative better. Zimmerman is 1/2 Peruvian and 1/8 black. Couldn't have them saying one minority, vs another minority now, could they?

Blessings,
Mary

Is everyone hearing the current news that the Federal Government might file a civil rights case against Zimmerman. I am so tired of our over inflated, over stepping, over zealous Government.

You may have read that none other than Alan Dershowitz, law professor from (ahem!) Harvard Law School, has said that the Florida DA prosecuting this case should be dis-barred. Well! I guess that makes a statement, doesn't it!

I was so relieved when the verdict came in 'NOT GUILTY' tonight. It really worried me that the obama administration had insinuated itself into this issue last year, and had even paid (with our tax money) to send government employees down to Sanford, Florida to demonstrate against George Zimmerman who shot Trayvon Martin in self defense.

Thank God the jury was not swayed by the political imposition by obama and his DOJ to unjustly convict a man who might otherwise have been seriously injured if he hadn't been armed.

I can see myself or any friend being faced with a similar situation, and if it comes down to the attacker or an armed citizen who fears for his or her life, it has to be ruled in favor of the one in defense.

I said "Thank you God" when I heard the verdict.
