I think Arianna is progressive now and extremely left. Seems like she isn't married to that husband, anymore. Luckily I don't see her on any news shows I watch.

A little flag popped up, but I couldn't find anything I could link it to.

Before my wife and I got married, I made sure we had a similar outlook when it came to politics ..... and religion ..... and child raising. Any of those three would have been deal busters, unfortunately. But with no major areas of contention, we're closing in on the 43 year mark!

And our two sons hated it when we made them ask the same question to the other parent when we got those, "Dad,Mom, can we jump off of a cliff? All the other kids get to?"

I think almost all fathers with daughters have at least some reservations when it's time for their "little girl" to get married, but when he found I followed "his" religious and political philosophies, he gave me another rung or two up on the confidence his daughter was oding the right thing.

Wasn't Ariana influenced by her husband -- to go to the left? Something is jiggling my memory.

Thanks. Before Breitbart died I bought his book. I just haven't read it yet. I have a habit of buying a bunch of books (Yes, I do have a Kindle that I buy for, too) that I haven't read yet. In fact, about a year ago I went to a presentation given by Brigitte Gabriel and bought two of her books. I started "Because They Hate" this week and it is eye-opening, even though I knew a lot of what was going on with the Muslims in this country.

Occasionally, about once every fourth year, the Huffington Post will take a stand on an issue that actually supports how we Conservatives feel (I guess they justify it by the ratio of founders: Kenneth Lerer (L), Andrew Breitbart (C), Arianna Huffington (L), and Jonah Peretti (L).

That's correct, Andrew Breitbart, one of the hardest hitting Conservatives (whose death still strikes me as 'strange' because of my background in not believing anything anyone says and only half of what I see with my own two eyes - and having my own heart attack at 33 that required a 4x bypass) and a man I greatly admired, helped Arianna Huffington found the Huff an Puff Post.

At first, that seems like a real-life oxymoron, but you have to know that Andrew grew up as a liberal Democrat, then in the late1990's had what he described as an "epiphany" and became a Conservative Republican with Libertarian leanings overnight. Andrew had been longtime friends with Arianna Huffington. When he first met her, SHE was a Republican. I'm not sure what flipped her to the Liberal darkness, but it is a long time held belief (scientifically proven) that for each action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Just on the surface, this strikes me as highly unlikely, but we do have evidence that it did happen at least once.

FACTOID: Susannah Breitbart, his wife, is the daughter of entertainer Orson Bean.

FACT: If you ever ate attacked on any team site because of your conservative beliefs, I am always available to help your cause. I beat them to death with facts, YELL AND SCREAM just like they tend to do, then I will unbalance them by following their own standard of baiting them emotionally.

The ABOVE applies to any team member who feels a bit overwhelmed. I'm willing to jump straight into the middle of the mud puddle with both feet and I'm not afraid of ruining my clothes or slinging mud - if need be.

Wow, and I was wondering if you all knew how liberal this site is. I'm embarrassed that I would think such a thing. I know a couple of months back I posted in the general thread in response to something and man, I got attacked. Then a "coach" came on and posted that they would pull that thread if it became too political. Even their "health articles" are full of pro-Obamacare crap. I remember seeing something from Huffington Post being referenced. I never read their crap. Full Progressive crap. I figure someday I will get thrown off, too. Hang in there. Good to know you ladies. Keep praying that the people of our country will turn away from evil and turn back to God. God is our only hope.

Thanks for your reply, Popeye. I was thoroughly disgusted with the way I was dismissed without an opportunity to refute their "racist" accusation, but at the time I did have some contact with others on this group who joined my conservative debate group on yahoo, and some are still on my email list.

I can only read this message board when I visit now, which is an annoyance but not worth a fight since their decisions are final and my rebuttal is not allowed. This is what we are faced with if Obamacare is not overturned quickly too -- There is no appeal if you are turned down for any treatment by their "death panel".

Anyway, I wish you all well, and I'll check back in when I have time between local political battles and various fundraisers for the good guys.

Wilda,

As one of the team members that has been allowed the privilege of being a team leader, I have been reported to be a racist on a number of occasions. I have particularly been pilloried because of my knowledge of the Qur'an and bringing it to the table very bluntly. When queried, I responded with, "Number one, Muslims are not a race unto themselves. Number two, my position is taken in opposition to their stated goal of eliminating my faith and civilization and their being given direction to lie to anyone "not of the faith" at anytime they choose. You might want to run this through a legal adviser to make sure you aren't legally over-stepping your "prudence".

I guess the charge was dismissed because I never heard of it again.

I was again accused of being a racist when I admitted to having great sympathy for the Tea Party cause. That was so ludicrous the Spark Coaches never even sent me a note - which caused a great crying and rending of clothes by the liberal who had a different opinion from mine.

Unless what you write is obviously made to denigrate another not of your race, you can pretty much state your mind. Using qualifying words such as "I feel" or "I think" often softens the tone of your post so that any level-headed person would see it as NOT advocating violence towards any race, religion, creed, color or organization

The members of our team are gentle people who won't hesitate to bring to our attention when we've been coloring outside the lines (with chalk or crayons - please don't misunderstand me).

Glad to see you again. We need all the assistance we can get to try and bring the lunatic liberals back to a position where they don't just spew emotionally when they bump against something they can't just explain away.

Dear Charlotte, I am a friend from a couple of years ago when a lib had me axed from SP because of supposed racism (their favorite tactic if you oppose obama). I'm so sorry to hear of your mother's demise. It must weigh very heavily on you now.

My daughter has recently been diagnosed with leukemia and has had to undergo chemo and extensive rehab. We're working with her sister to clean up her house and help her get her bills paid so she doesn't lose her house or car.

Anyway, I'm laying low just to be able to use the nutrition tracker as I've gained 30 pounds since I had to leave SP. Some of you have followed with me on my Yahoo group tnww2 and are on my email list. I do appreciate your loyalty to conservative causes and of course you all know I'm not opposed to Obama because of his black half. His white half is just as bad for our country.

God bless you all, and especially for now Charlotte, who has had more than her share of challenges.

Wilda

I missed the post, having been on any teams forum in a while. Still trying to adjust to our situation.

I guess there are always people that like to start fights and that really don't care what you believe in as along as they get something started. No matter what.

I feel bad for them because they deserve our sympathy for being the way they are.

Sometimes you just have to smile, pretend everything is okay, hold back the tears and just walk away.

The only thing she/he was trying to do they have done, because they wanted to get everyone on off track and create a hostile environment. That is there mode of operation.

Good news: Friday night Beck and O'Reilly were in Columbus, Ohio. Progress Ohio was recruiting people to go and hand out fliers to stop the petition to stop health care amendment that is being signed for the November Election. Only two people showed up and they were rather shy, and one of them ended up signing the petition after throwing away their fliers and took information from the petition group who was there getting signatures.

It wouldn't have mattered. 'Those people' already have their minds made up. You won't sway them nor will you dissuade them. It's just an excercise in futility. Best to ignore them or better yet, delete them. Starting arguments is their idea of starting a conversation. If they really had an open mind (notice I said IF) they would listen to what we are saying and respond to that in an intelligent manner, not just name-calling and rantings. Our concerns and questions are legitimate and things that all Americans should be thinking about. After all, it is OUR country and we ALL need to do everything we can to preserve it. No question should be off-limmits.

Learn from the mistakes of others. Life is too short to make them all yourself.

I really think she - or he for all we know - made up the name just to come here and create a ruckus. For all we know she/he is normally on Spark People using a completely different name. I did a name search for her/him and didn't find her. Too bad she/he didn't stick around to actually discuss and debate the issues.

If she had a low post number, she was probably a lurker and her name was probably made-up especially to come in and cause trouble.

If she signed in as a new Spark person and didn't make a Spark Page, we probably won't be able to track her.

I'll try googling and see what happens.

Popeye, it was more of a "lecturing" questioning style.
like how can you think this way..... when this is the "fact" It was a very long post. Almost didn't get past the first paragraph as she was "acting" all innocent.I mostly just skimmed through the rest and wrote her off as a loon. I was rather annoyed that she felt like she had to invade our "space".

Her post history was very low, don't really remember, seems to me to be below 10???

All I have to say is "Rats."

I would have been able to back-track the liberal to find out where they really hang out, well, unless they have made their Spark Page private, then I can't even get in the back way from the Internet.

Was the liberal just preaching or did that person even consider "debating" any of us?

Yesterday was spicy for a while. I enjoyed those of you who stood up for conservatism. There's not much of that in Chicago. Oh, we have talk radio (until the regime shuts it down). I am glad to have found a lovely group of thoughtful, kind, Conservatives.

Not really, it has been proven that 95% of college professors are extreme liberal democrats. If you are conservative you usually lose your office and position in the college. That is why so many coming out of college are liberal, that also will change for many as they start to work, pay taxes, get a taste of the real world, buy property and have a family. Academia is a know liberal land, that is why they were the first called to the White House.

I also thought that the post might have been part of a college assignment, except most colleges are out now. If anyone has heard of Dr. Laura you'll know what I mean. She has a radio show in which she gives advice to callers about family matters. She's very conservative. Well, she would get calls from people who would try to get her riled up and get her thrown off the air - because they didn't believe in what she stands for. Apparently, college students would get assignments to call her show and try to create a ruckus. Yeah, can you believe that college teachers would actually give that out as an assignment? Oh boy, let's do some real secret stuff and play "make believe" and "pretend". It's so sad the a teacher would be so consumed with trying to quiet an opposing view. Very very sad.

Yea I thought the same thing.... It's almost as if they have to convince themselves that this lie that they are believing is real. Sorta made me mad, because if we would have "invaded" their team..... boy they would have let it rip!

I agree with you, when I read the post just thought that this is not worth it, but before I could respond that this was a waste to argue with someone who clearly is only objective was to insight the post was deleted.

I have not been on for a while, my older teammates may remember my mother's health issues, but for the knew members: I have been MIA while I was caring for my mother during the last year. She lost her battle with cancer earlier this year and I am just getting my life back to my old routine (heck, just back period), although election time is coming and I will be heavily involved getting out the vote and that will take up much of my time.

I understand that there has been someone causing trouble on the threads....ahhhh they never let me down.

There is not really much we can do, besides reporting the offender to SP & ignoring them. The sad fact is there will always be people who feel the need to start arguments. Why they do it is not really as important as what it accomplishes, or could accomplish. For us to have our team shut down or go private, neither is what we want.

We have to fight clean, even more when they fight dirty. So debate, but watch your words, kill with ultra kindness OR ignore them, report them. DO NOT get sucked into a useless battle.

The internet is a great outlet for us to share information, strengthen our voices...but that is it. Votes are not won on this playing field. Even if you DO sway a democrat, you will have wasted too much time to make it worth it.

If you really want to get the dems and win back the house AND keep your states safe during redistricting then....sorry to be so blunt, then you have to help organize your area, your precinct, in some cases, even your county Republican party. Votes can be swayed, but not from the diehards. You have to focus on energizing your base and convince your swing voters.

I know its frustrating, but keep strong knowing you fight the good fight!
Charlotte
