First of all, I would fire her. She got you mad, and that is motivation to run that race. You will finish and you will win! Good luck and have fun. Strength training will help very much with running too.

though only yesterday did I decide to tell my trainer in the gym that I'd like to join the 4k race in October, and she actually "laughed at me" she started mocking me throughout the training session, until I finally couldn't take it anymore and told her to stop mocking me and that I "can" take the race "and" finish it, she told me that my training is inadequate and if I were to make it I need to be training non stop. Regardless of her unprofessionality, she did manage to bring me down, the fact that my training yesterday was mostly strength training and I didn't do any running, and now I'm sore all over doesn't help one bit.... well, I will show her and everyone who doubted me that I can and I will...
do others have the same problem? of people trying to bring them down instead of encouraging them, what do you do with those people?
