My sister, my son (11) and I signed up for a turkey trot. I try to train 3 times a week, but I don't always get to run, it gets really dark here before I get home from work, and the health club isn't always an option, with 2 kids...

Anyway. My son runs with me on the weekends. He usually runs for 3 or 4 mins and then wants to take a break, so I wasn't sure about signing him up, because I didn't want him to slow me down. When the race started.. he took off. I figured I would catch up in a few mins... He ran the entire thing. My GPS (and other's from what I am told) said the race was actually 3.31 miles, not 3.1. He finihsed in 40:45.

I finihsed in 46:29. It isn't bad for my first 5k in 14 years!

It was a lot of fun. So he already has me looking for more races to sign us up for!
