I have turned my daily " walking the dogs" into the 5K challenge. One of my dogs loves it. He is very fit and oh so willing to please. My other dog has a thyroid problem (he is on meds), is over weight, and sometimes I literally have to drag him. He is really a clown. I don't think he is sore from running, because at the end of the run I sometimes turn them loose, and he runs like a horse. LOL

It has been great for my dog too. He is so happy to go with me and I'm happy to take him. Especially this time of year with the beautiful colors and crisp air.

I think I need new shoes, I'm feeling it for sure. I'm so new though, I didn't know if I'd be able to do it at all but now that I'm starting week 3 I think it's time to accept that I'm gonna push this and I need good shoes.

My husband is a runner and I haven't told him what I'm doing. I'm am that anti-runner. LOL My final goal is to run a 5k with him. He runs a lot and if I run too, it's more time I can be with him...so that is my motivation. That, and my health. I feel myself slowing down and that ain't happening. Not yet. :-)

I've been slowly but surely working on my walking/jogging for the past month, and it's been an awesome opportunity to exercise with my two dogs! My ultimate goal is a 5k in under 30 minutes by June 1st, 2013. I couldn't ask for better motivators :)

I'm excited about using this rookie running program to decrease my time (currently, it takes me about 45 minutes). I plan to work up eventually to a half marathon! Presently working through the common setbacks... knee pain, ankle pain... (which required new shoes) to slowly - but surely - achieve not only my running goal, but my weight loss goal.

What is your final goal? What do you do to motivate yourself to go running?
