I'm so happy you like it!
I live in FL so I totally understand running in the heat (and awful humidity too!!)

It takes your body approximately 2 weeks to acclimate to the warmer weather.
Be safe, take it slow and be sure to HYDRATE!!

Hi Suezette

Update on the Gymboss Interval Timer. I LOVE it. Super simple, affordable and awesome. Thanks very much for recommending it. Am hitting the pavement this weekend with it. Did it on the treadmill. Haven't ventured outside since because it's been super hot and struggling with jogging in the heat and bad allergies (cottonwood is by far my worst tree allergy and it is a sea of white seeds out here now). Had a little rain so maybe that will help. May need to take the inhaler with me.

Anyways, thanks again. Plan on sending the company a nice note of thanks!

I think you will really like the gymboss!
I love mine.
Especially because you can set it for 2 different time intervals.

Thanks Suezette! Checked out the Gymboss timer and it had nice reviews. Well, wouldn't you know, I ordered it today and it already shipped. Lucky me they are in state:) Excited to use it outside. Struggling with the timing outdoors, leaving me stuck on the treadmill. No more excuses. Thanks again!

I got the 5k 101 Couch to 5k podcast and I really like it. The program is not exactly the SP one but I like it. There are other programs on iTunes, as well. It's fun to have someone coaching you in your ear while you're running.

You can get the Couch to 5k on iTunes or here: http://runningmate.podomatic.com/

Gymboss! It's an interval timer. You can get one for around $25 from Amazon. It's small and clips on your belt, shorts, or wherever.

There is also Garmin GPS watches (they do much more then intervals) but I wouldn't recommend that until you know you want to keep running as they are expensive.

I really like the way the rookie program progresses and I think it is something I can succeed at.
I have lost 71 lbs in the last year but did not build muscle at the same time. I am a nurse so I know that when I look at my glutes and thighs what I am seeing is not good.

My question has to do with how you handle cues about when to run and when to walk with this program? Is there a app for the Iphone somewhere or some other way for me to cue myself?
