Germany is beautiful moving here has been one of the best and smartest things I've ever done. Not that everywhere doesn't have it's downs but the ups out weigh the downs! I am HAPPY again and since I am happy I want to lose weight and get healthy as well :)

As for the cycling... Being a mother of 2 with errands to run and kids to get to kindergarten and groceries to haul home and such I rarely have time to just take in the scenery. We do try to take long rides into the countryside on the weekends though when the weather permits. Otherwise I am huffing puffing hell on wheels trying to get to where I need to go before the kids have to pee or need a drink or just plain kill each other :P

Thank you for the advice I just wanted to make sure I wasn't cheating :)

I would use biking as exercise unless you are "strolling" along and sightseeing. It sounds like you are having a great adventure. Some friends just moved back from Germany. They loved it there.

Hi everyone I'm Paskalini. I attempted to spark 3 years ago and well i didn't stick with it needless to say. BUT now I'm BACK AND READY. I am ready this time and I am excited about making healthy lifestyle changes!

I have a question though. I live in Germany (two years this month). I don't own a car I ride a bike everywhere (sometimes pulling two kids behind my bike!) When I first moved here I lost nearly 20 pounds but after 2 years it's just become the norm.

I am doing the walk a 5k program as well and tracking that as well. BUT...
My question is can I still track the cycling as exercise? Since I started Sparking again I have started timing myself and pushing myself to get to where I need to go in a harder gear or a faster time etc... Is it cheating to count this on my fitness tracker?

Any thoughts would be welcome thanks :)
