I'm fortunate in that I had the shingles vaccination a couple years ago. The doc told me that this would probably reduce the severity of the disease by quite a bit. So, just as an FYI to those of us over 60, here's a link to the CDC recommendation of the vaccination: www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vpd-vac/shingles/vacc -need-know.htm

When you get to a plateau, think of it as a landing on the stairway to your goal. And maintenance is a lifelong plateau, so a bit of "rehearsal" for maintenance isn't the worst thing in the world

Shingles belong on roofs, not on feet. Haven't ever had them, but can empathize. Take the time you need to get better, and we will be here when you get back.

I feel your pain.This is not a fun thing. Get well quick and hurry back A couple years a go I had a bout with Shingles. Was in pain for a couple weeks and my husband took me to the ER (where I work )one Sunday night. Spent 2 days in the hospital all sorts of testing. I hadn't broken out, they worked me up for gall bladder and sent me home. Saturday night (2am) I was in so much pain we went back, another ER doctor after we discussed everything he decided to keep me in the ER until morning they make me comfortable and by 7am I had broken out with the worst welt's he had ever seen.

From the "For What It's Worth" department, I have somehow managed to come down with a dose of the shingles. I can't believe it, and it's on my foot, too. Anyway, the doc has me on an anti-viral medication, and the prognosis is good. So, I'll be dropping out for a while, but I'll be back. This is a GREAT program! Huge thanks to everyone!
