Carl could be a baddass all he wants but if he was my kid he'd at least be a polite baddass!

FFK - You made me laugh!

DSD posted a link under another thread that ended with this statement:

".... but everyone knows that in the Zombie Apocalypse it's not if you die, it's just how many zombies and bad guys you can take before you go."

IMHO - I kind of see the writers for TWD have taken this literally and keep trotting out the "one trick pony" of "Let's kill (fill in the blank) ....." way too many times this season!.

On another note, just caught "The Good Wife" and was glad to see "Dale" (Jeffrey DeMunn) in an awesome bit part as a IL Supreme Court Judge. He was pretty intimidating and I got an evil vibe off the character! I'm hoping to see him again in that role....

I never liked Andrea but the way she died was stupid. She was standing with an arm free and a tool in hand when Milton rose. She's killed zombies with less plenty of times so I just don't buy it that she got bit. They could have done a lot better with how they to rid of her, and the other inconsistencies (we caught the truck tires being punctured and then the truck being OK to drive later on).

I was cutting Carl some slack earlier in the season because of the situation and the incompetents that are his parents but this was too much. That boy is long overdue to be taken round back of the woodshed with a fresh switch. Unfortunately he is a product of his parents' neglect and the circumstances of the zombie apocalypse. But I can tell you no child of mine would get away with what Rick has let Carl do/say for the last 2 seasons, zombies or no.

Word has it that Season 4 will deal alot with the Rick/Carl relationship. Carl is just a small nudge away from being a real nut case, and turning into a little Governor.
Hopefully that will be better than an entire season waiting around at the farm to see where Sophia is.

Was finally able to watch this. I suspected this episode would be Andrea's end. I did not mind the way she died. Didn't think it was pointless. Savage Governor taking her out with Milton, cruel. She was stupid for taking her sweet time, her fault she died really. Moving on...

I was disappointed in Carl, however, with all he's been through I don't know how he hasn't totally cracked and become a killing machine sooner. I may have to rethink Carl and start to like him.....maybe.

WHY DID THOSE MEN NOT KILL THE GOVERNOR. He's crazy and could turn on you at any point, why keep him alive? He just killed off the majority of a town he was supposed to e protecting and you let him live? Really? Really!?!

I also thought the end where they took the elderly and young into the prison showed humanity in the worst of times. I appreciated it, however, I don't know how they are going to protect them all. They need more fighters. I always felt Tyrese belonged with the prison group though, so that's a plus.

Overall I liked the episode. Maybe not a season finale episode, but it was still good. My only real complaint is there wasn't enough Daryl. emoticon

Oh and Beth joining as a regular is going along with my feeling about her to begin with. She's going to have her time, kick some butt, we will start to love her and they will kill her off.

How do you figure out if someone is immune??

The dude at the CDC said they had been working on a cure, but that every angle they tried resulted in failure.
At this point tho, it might not matter about immunity. The few people left alive seem to be for the most part, pretty brutal.

I will have to read these articles for sure! I got a new phone Tuesday night because the one that I had had for almost 3 years finally just quit so my husband and I upgraded big time for us.........new Samsung Galaxy S III which we still had "dumb" phones so having a smart phone is AWESOME but kinda overwhelming at the same time. First thing I did is look for new wallpaper and ringtones.....LOL the Walking Dead ringtone is my new ring and I have the picture that says "Don't open, Dead inside" as my wallpaper........my husband was like OF COURSE!!!

I was talking to a co-worker on the drive home the other night(I vanpool and am the driver in the evening on the way home) and he watches Walking Dead also and we were swapping theories back and forth and I told him that I think this season could be interesting because it looks like there will be more people for one and for two there are things that they have not even touched on yet.

For one, they have not really said much about the outside world beyond Georgia....or maybe they have and I did not catch it, but I am curious as to what is going on in the rest of the country, are there other groups, will they try to get some communication going???? My other question was that in all known epidemics, there are always a few people that are immune to the disease.......it might kill off 99% of the people, but there is always one person still alive......my question is that they have not had anyone die that did not come back as a zombie, so are we going to see someone die that does not come back?? How do you figure out if someone is immune??

I am who I am....it took me a long time to get this way and I am not going to change overnight.... but one day at a time!!

I am glad to hear that David Morrissey will return. He makes a good nemesis for Rick & his group. Perhaps we'll find out if The Governor's two henchmen survived the roadtrip he took them on. LOL

Merle makes a dangerous looking zombie.

Some new information out for Season 4. This is from SpoilersGuide:

Three post-apocalypse survivor from Rick’s crew just got a promotion on The Walking Dead:
According to TV Line, Chad L. Coleman (Tyrese) and Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha) who recurred in season 3 have been upped to series regular in the upcoming fourth season.
Additionally, Emily Kinney who plays Hershel’s youngest daughter Beth is also now a part of the regular characters of the AMC smash.

I just read an interesting story about how parts of the episode were re-shot after show production had long since wrapped up. Seems like most of the stuff with Andrea/Milton was re-written and reshot.
Apparently AMC/Kirkman didn't like the way it was put together. Maybe this explains the showrunner being fired and replaced.

I was sorry to see Andrea die but if she would have quit having lengthy conversations with Milton, she might have gotten free a bit quicker. I was like "stop talking and get those pliers!!"

Carl is going to be a handful but you know when they told that teen to drop his gun he just held it out and kept saying "here...take it." I kept saying "drop the gun!" I got the impression that if Carl reached for it the teen was going to grab for Carl. I sorta sided with Carl....though he could have shot him in the arm or something. emoticon

The Governor saw RED when his Woodbury citizens began complaining and turning against him. After Milton & Andrea's betrayals, he wasn't going to stand for anymore of this. Those guys who were his henchmen were terrified of The Governor. They knew he could be dangerous but The Governor went beyond what they were used to seeing. I wonder what will happen to them?

There should be some interesting stories with new people to the group now.

I enjoyed the episode and look forward to Season 4.

I was sad to see Andrea go, especially that way even though I have been very annoyed with her off and on this season. I was really frustrated that she kept talking to Milton and would stop trying to get the pliers while she was talking to him, it was like talk and work your toes at the same damn time already!!

The Governor totally freaked me out killing almost everybody like he did and why didn't the two guys he kept alive take him out when his back was turned??????? they have been with him when he has killed people before so they should not have been than shocked and you would think that they would hit a point where enough is enough.........but they get it the truck with him and drive off??!!!

I am glad to see them saving the people at Woodbury and combining groups and Tyreese getting together with Rick and Darryl. Maybe I am being a softie but part of me would like to think that not everyone completely loses their humanity in times like that. The Woodbury group has children and I saw a baby with them as well, not as small as Judith but under 2 years old. When you see the craziness of the Governor there has to be a balance where people still care about other people..........otherwise what would be the point in continuing on and fighting to stay alive???

I think it will be interesting to see what Season 4 brings. I saw on Youtube awhile back a cut scene that ended up being like 8 minutes long or so where it was right after the group left the CDC and they took everybody back to where the nursing home people had been, looking for a place to stay. This was like where Season 2 would have started off. When they got to the nursing hime, they found everyone dead, they had all been shot and killed, not taken out by zombies. If I get a chance, I will try to find it again and post it.

I am a new member and glad I finally found this team!

I was a bit disappointed in the finale... Andrea has always been one of my favorite characters! I thought sure her and Milton would survive, not end each other! lol I did think for a finale it lacked some pizazz! I also wonder how the prison group will survive with so many children and elderly people! Maybe they will go back to Atlanta where the nursing home was and drop them off.

Carl has definitely not had a "normal" childhood! He will have some interesting story lines, I agree.

I hope Martinez will eventually wake up and finish off the Gov, maybe with Daryl's help! I am glad that, shoot I can not think of his name! The guy who helped find Andrea at the end... glad they got back to the prison group.

I agree, I don't understand why they took Andrea out. There was so much to be done still with that character.

I find Carl annoying as a child, but he hasn't exactly had a normal childhood so I guess i will give him a little break. I haven't liked him since he threw rocks at the zombie to torture it way back when, sure sign of being warped - torturing another creature that couldn't defend itself in the moment (even if it is a zombie). But his parents haven't exactly been nurturing either. I think his character will make for some interesting story lines down the road, or at least has the potential to do so.

How long do you suppose it will take before the governor kills the only two people he still has in his army? Guess he better learn how to go get food on his own!

Overall, I didn't mind the episode. I kind of liked that the final moments were calm, especially compared to last years, just because I wasn't expecting it to end that way. I was really expecting a blood bath. Also, I really love the direction they're going with Carl. That kid drove me nuts last year, so I can't believe I'm starting to like him lol.

My major problem with the episode: Andrea's death! SO disappointing and pointless. She shouldn't have died, at least not before redeeming herself. She's such a strong character, and had so much potential. I was REALLY mad. She did not deserve to go out like that. Poor, Laurie Holden.

Lets talk about the season finale, and if you haven't seen it yet, or don't want spoilers, turn away now.

ok...

This season has had alot of amazing episodes. Sadly, this was not one of them. There were a few small high points. Carl telling his father to get out of his face. A very intense first 5 minutes of the Gov. beating the hell out of Milton. The surprise Rick's group had waiting for the attackers at the prison.
But the bad was so much more... bad. Almost everything with Andrea, including her pointless death. The truck hitting the spikes in the prison yard, destroying it's tires, then driving away as they leave the scene. Rick now running an old folk's home inside the prison. The Gov. slipping away to twirl his eye patch and wait to pop up again one day like the bogeyman.
A bad ending to such a good season, and we have absolutely no direction to look towards for Season 4.
