You know we didn't put on the lbs overnight, but we want results faster than we get them. Two things to remember, as we get older Metabolism changes, and we have to cut portions and exercise more. I have a difficult time myself, as I don't have the mechanism in my brain that tells me "I am full", so if it is something I really like, I can eat till it is gone and never feel full. I have to tell myself I am full and walk away from the food. But I know that and have to struggle every day. I figure if I lose one lb a week, that is 52 lbs a year and I would be happy with that. I know there are certain foods I cannot have in my house and do not buy them, but unfortunately there are more and more foods, I just might end up with bread and water. LOL Remember, one day at a time.

Glad to hear you are feeling better. I am trying to get more exercise in every day, some days it is a challenge. I tried the TART CHERRY JUICE yesterday and will continue to see if it helps. Also got Devil's Claw. That too is supposed to help. One day at a time.

I'm doing sooooooooo much better then yesterday. Hardly any pain at all today. Yesterday there was a lot for some reason. a week ago I was walking all the time. Not sure why yesterday was so bad. Now today able to walk more and no pain. I picked up some tart cherry tonight so I'll start having it tomorrow.

I try to do a little more each day. Some days, I just cannot do anything. I am now trying TART CHERRY JUICE, recommended from one of the gals on this website Went to my local health foods store and was able to buy it. I am starting today and we will see how much it helps. Also heard Devil's Claw helps too. I am at the point I will try anything to help with the pain.

Whoze, I don't take meds. My OA isn't that bad. I have pre arthritis which is very mild OA. Where I live the weather is turning cold. Too cold to ride outside, so I'm getting a stationary one. Actually, even with the rain my leg felt pretty good. I'll be getting the 5 shots soon. Which Ortho said, it would help. I'm not in so much pain physically as much emotionally. One day at a time. Such is life. I've been very healthy otherwise.

1 I was born flat footed and have developmental hip dysplasia.
2 1 hip resurfaced, the other waiting to get bad enough for a total replacement.
3 The feet prosthetics may or may not help. I have 54 years of damage being wrong and I wasn't too successful putting them in my shoe. Now I feel like one side needs a lift.
4 Bike riding and water aerobics are probably going to be your best bet. Did you start on arthritis meds? Probably why the rain isn't messing with you currently.

Advice on the bike: Out door riding is much, much more fun especially if you can ride with a friend or a husband. You can get a "trainer" and make your outdoor bike an indoor bike easily. I took my friend in the UK's advise to do it this way. I have owned a stationary bike and hated every minute of it. No matter what I did for that seat, my butt (hips) ached. Plus outdoor bikes have a wide, wide variety of seats. Mine does gentle side to side motion with each petal helping the arthritis in my pelvis greatly.

Sorry to say, but welcome to my world. Today, I am hurting from moving things, the nearness of the right hip to replacement and the fact the temps are dipping at night in a few days.

We all have bad days, just hang in there. I was diagnosed with OA in my early 40s, so I know it sucks. You could probably do some low impact aerobics as long as you listen to your body and don't overdo.

Today my knee isn't too bad. AND it's raining! As you know, I was diagnose with OA on Monday. My foot on the same side of the bad knee has been bothering me for a while. Went to foot doc today and he said I've developed flat feet. Now I'll have to wear a special support on my foot. Right now he has it wrapped and feels strange. What happens???? We hit 50 and everything falls by the wayside! I'm in my middle 50's and I don't think I should have this happening already. I'm feeling like an old lady. Feeling discouraged today. I wish I knew if it would be okay to do my low impact aerobics. The Ortho never told me. Now I'm waiting to hear back for getting shots in my knee. I'm going to buy a stationary bike tonight or this weekend. I need to get in some aerobics. Thanks for reading this and allowing me to vent!
