I use Embrel along with methotrexate injections. It has really helped me. My liver is doing fine and the medicine has stopped further joint damage, especially in my hands. I had some serious bone erosion and inflammation which it has stopped. I was also constantly achy and in pain, especially at night. It was hard to get a good night's rest and the Embrel has helped with that as well. I was nervous at first, too but I feel the benefits outweigh the risks. I have never skipped a dose.

I have never skipped a dose, but everyone is different. Check with your doctor to be sure.

My sister does Remicade. She swears by it. I suggest that you don't worry about things that haven't happened yet. I don't think she has ever, for any reason, not been able to have her infusion. She lived in HI, and when she was visiting in MO her doctor arranged for her to have it in MO.

I have done the remicade/humira/enbrel....doing Actemra now. Skipping a dose or delaying by a week is up to the doc. Historically I never skipped unless there was a fever involved and only then.

I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing. Agatha Christie

Thanks for the info. I already do subq methotrexate, so I give myself a poke weekly as well. I have labs done generally every 2-3 months, so that won't be anything new. One thing I'm wondering about, is what do you do if you get the cold or flu or something like that? Do you have to skip your dose?

Blessed be.

I have been using Humira for a little over a year. I have osteoarthritis and psorisic arthritis. It has helped, but you need to have blood work frequently to make sure that your liver is not comprimised.
I use a pen to inject, and it is really easy after the first few times. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. Good luck with your decision.

My rheumatologist wants me to start on remicade...does anyone else use this or any of the other ones like humira or embrel? Let me know what you think please. I'm sort of nervous about it.

Blessed be.
