The day after the injections the pain just got worse and worse. Called the doc on call and she was no help. Really dismissed my pain. I have had two major abdominal surgeries and this pain ranked right up there. I ended up going to the ER and they were concerned because my bp was over 200 and kept going up and up for several hours. Once the pain came down from good ole Percocet the bp started to come down.
When I saw the PA a week later, she said I had a cortisone flare (reaction to the cortisone). Now why did the on call doc not think of that possibility? So no injections and they are trying prednisone. Had my first visit with the rheumatologist. He examined my hands and feet, did xrays and bloodwork. If all are negative will order an MRI since this may be early RA.
I am getting better at managing the pain and watching my bp. It came back down to normal over a few days then started to go up when my feet got worse.
Thanks all for the encouragement!

As if hips, knees, neck and back were not enough, now my hands and feet have decided to join the arthritis pain team...
I have developed trigger finger in 6 fingers all at once. Started steroid injections this week in 3 of the joints and WOW painful!!! I had injections in the lower back last year and the doc said I might have increased pain but I didn't experience any...so when the hand doc said I might have increased pain I just nodded thinking yeah...
I was not prepared! Next week I go for more shots and will ask for something for pain. Will see rheumatologist for the first time July 7th to see how all this joint pain, fatigue and chronic hives are connected. I am ready for a whole body approach.
