HI there I just posted about my knee as well.
I have a baker's cyst back there so I have pain there. Maybe same for you?

Are you living your true life or the life others want you to live?

Hi Pam

I hear you loud and clear. We need to just keep working through this. I'm trying to keep all my original parts. I thought the dr was going to say knee replacement this time but he said I won't need a replacement for several years. So trying to lose the weight in the meantime and maybe no replacement. Keep up the work. If I can do it anyone can.

HI, Pattie,
Congrats on coming back from all that surgery. I had similar stuff done in Novemer of last year. I am back walking almost a mile every day and taking water aerobics. It takes time and lots of ice packs to keep up but I'm getting there too. The Rheumatologist put me back on a course of Prednizone and then Mobic, however. Looks like a new knee for me in the near future. I'll try to avoid that as long as possible but sometimes pain wins out over willpower.
Keep up the good work.

Pam

I had arthoscopic surgery in April 2010...torn minicus on one side and deterioration on the other side, they also scraped a lot of arthritis off the back of the knee cap, drained a baker's cysts. Dr. said I had a lot of work done for one knee. It was a slow recovery but by Jan 2011 I was doing much better. Now I'm back to walking and feeling much better about having the surgery. I just keep going even though there were time I wanted to give up and just say "this is as good as it gets" Now I'm back on SP and doing better. Just stick with the program and don't give up. I went from walking 1 mile a day to using a cane to crutches to using a wheelchair at times. After surgery back to cruthches back to a cane now back to walking (not a mile every day, but getting there) If I can do it you can!

Jane emoticon sorry to hear about your knee's. I have OA in my knees so my pain is in the front and on the sides. The only relief I get is ice and heat. Be sure to stretch before exercising and hopefully the weight loss will help some. Best of Luck....Sandra

Maxie - thanks for the reply. I did have the knee x-rayed and also had an MRI- have had arthroscopic surgery about a year ago for a torn meniscus but apparently no tears showed on the MRI. Just lots of arthritis. I am trying to lose weight and know that will help. Hard when walking is such a problem but I am doing my stationery bike and elliptical trainer. I really don't want a knee replacement. Jane

I wish I could help you but my pain is usually in the front part. With OA in my knees among other places it is challenging at times. But know that with weight loss comes less pain. I have had injections and they seemed to help me.

I am sure others on this team will be able to help you and give you some advice.

My knee pain is only in the back of my knee. Trying the injections for relief and have had 2 shots. So far no change. Anyone having pain only in the back of the knee, I'd love to hear fromyou.
