From a high of about 260, I've slowly brought my weight down the scale over about five years or so. Currently I'm approaching the big five-oh and hovering within about 20 pounds of my official goal weight. Losing weight is a huge challenge at my age. I do a combination of walking, yoga, and weightlifting for fitness and track EVERYTHING I eat. It's true what they say, losing weight IS harder as we get older, but it's worth the struggle.
Well, how far from your goal weight are you? you'll always fluctuate, so give yourself a buffer so you don't get discouraged.
I'm not sure WHAT my problem is, but I'm not discouraged. I'm staying focused, but not giving up. I have a great support system in place (My brother even hid the cookie dough I had purchased as part of a fundraiser, which I'm thankful for. Although I do tend to go way over at times I do go out, so it is difficult.
I just know that I'm still working hard at keeping my exercise going and I know that coming back here helps keep me focused. I enjoy motivating others, so I'm hopeful that helps me too.
My problem isn't so much food but high calorie beer...I can cut it out and get down to my goal weight, but then I go out with friends or have a work function to attend, and I gain it back within days. Frustrating.
Back in business. I am back at Weight Watchers for 2 weeks and have lost 4 pounds. Doing good tracking my eating. Just having trouble trying to figure points on some items, so some guessing involved. I am aiming to walk everyday for at least a few minutes. Consistency and perserverance is what I am going for now!!
So, it's been a while since I've posted on this board. Far too long, in fact. When I was last active on this board, I was doing okay, but then all of the sudden the world FLIPPED right over and everything came tumbling down. Now, I've struggled but I've righted my world and am ready to continue with this lifestyle change and weight loss challenge.
As I look on the boards, I see the last active post was 8/16/10. Today is 10/8/10 and I challenge you ALL to post something! Okay, maybe your diet isn't going so well, or your exercise has been in more than a slump. Guess what! TODAY is the day to challenge yourself! I have found that just ONE little positive step in my day helps motivate me to take one more positive step, then another.
