Elizabeth, you are an inspiration how to be consistent at sparking!
Your trip sounds awesome!

I will check if you posted some photos of the twins in costumes. How creative!

Ladies, have a great Mother's Day!

Me, too....still sparking & being consistent with my workouts/eating, just not as active on boards/friend feeds.

Easter was GREAT, thanks for asking. Was at my sister's for five days, just relaxing, visiting, and hanging out. Kids were great for the long car ride. Twins had to go right back to school the day after we got back, DD15 and I were still on vacation for a few more days. Spent that time making a mushroom and cactus costume for my twins. Hard thing to get motivated to do when it's NOT Halloween They have a 'show' on Biomes in first grade. I think I did pretty well with the costumes--will try to get some pics. Show is tonight, so it's going to be a loooonnng day. All I know is that it is 35 working days to summer vacation!!! emoticon

Happy 2014 to all my team mates & fellow sparkers! emoticon
Well, as always, time has flown by emoticon . 2013 ended pretty well for me...

My DD, Grace, started high school, got asked and went to her first dance with a date--homecoming--and has since had her heart broken. Oh, the day in the life of a high schooler! But, kudos to her for continuing to take it all in stride and keep her sense of humor along the way. She is well aware that there are many toads to come before her prince. emoticon

emoticon I turned 40 in October (and my twins turned 6, but let's face it, this year I got the attention!). DH threw me a surprise party, and yes, I was surprised....VERY surprised! So much so that I started to worry that I was off 'my game' for always knowing what is going on in my house/household. I told him that because he did such a great job, it turned out SO well, and I just got to sit back & enjoy, he could plan all future party/gatherings at our house. His response... emoticon

Thanksgiving was wonderful and relaxed with just my immediate family. My brother was in charge of the turkey this year because he got a new smoker and wanted to try the turkey in it....BEST turkey I ever had!!! I also proceeded to tell him he did such a good job that he is on turkey duty until further notice. emoticon

Christmas was a buzz of excitement with the kids. I started 'Elf on the Shelf' this year for the first time, and the twins thought is was hysterical. They couldn't wait to find it everyday! We also had some of my mom's family in town, too.

I hit my deadlift goal of pulling one 200 lb. rep by Christmas (with one day to spare); and have since pulled 200 for 2 sets of 2. Yeah, me!!! emoticon

DH and I celebrated our anniversary emoticon on Dec. 30 with a sleepover at the Queen Mary for a night. My mom babysat...bless her heart emoticon

My sister was able to visit (from El Paso, TX) during the week of New Years; and of course that always makes me realize how much I miss her so. Hopefully she will be back this summer for a little longer stay. We had a lot to discuss (and still do) about our mom. She needs to get her house ready to sell (has been trying to do it on her own for YEARS) and its a job SO much bigger than her. She is still in fairly good health, but lives in a house much too big for her alone. Also, my lovely mother is the type of person that doesn't want to inconvenience anyone, but often at her own expense. (Mind you, my almost 70 year old mom is the sole care-giver to my 95 year-old grandma who still insists on living alone.) So, this is the year we all hunker down and get the job done with my mom's house; and insist that my mom's two younger sisters come out & help with my grandma while we tackle that...which is a whole 'nother 'Oprah' all on its own. For now, just pray for us all in these endeavors!

Anyhoo, vacation is over and back to the reality of work and 'daily life'. But, truth be told, life is good and I am so thankful for.....EVERYTHING!!!
emoticon

BLUEROSE73--Wow, two half marathons!?! emoticon emoticon emoticon

IONA72--Will keep praying for you that your job stays secure. And, you are right ... emoticon emoticon emoticon

SPEEDY143--That's quite a load on your plate, but you are SO right...loading up your emoticon plate with food won't help anything. I am right here with you, keeping the faith... emoticon

Can we all make a commitment (including myself) to try and check in here at least once a week, or every other...even if it's just to say "Hi"?

For better of worse....BRING IT...2014!!! emoticon

I'm just getting back on track with my fitness. I've been off for months - shingles attack. Now that I'm better, I'm back training for my next two half marathons, and also doing a couple of fitness classes.

Hey team emoticon glad to be back with you, would love this team to get together again. I had a tough time at the end of last year when I was at risk of being laid off from work, but I'm still there... for now, so feeling a lot happier. Now to get back on track with my exercise and tracking all I eat, Christmas has left me carrying a few extra pounds emoticon I don't like it!
The only way is up emoticon Keep up the good work girls!

emoticon emoticon thanks Elizabeth for updating our team name emoticon I just love coming to SparkPeople and seeing the team title "Bring It.... 2014" Challenge Yourself!!

There's not enough time to bring you all up-to-date... suffice it to say DH has been out of work for 9 months, we have totally enjoyed the time off to spend with our newest grandson who turned 1 on 1/04... our DD is 12 weeks pregnant so they will be 19 months apart emoticon not twins I know but they will have their hands full. We've used up all our savings and DH cashed in his 401K to keep the business going. Our oldest DD and her DH and 4 yr old son are losing their home so that's been some drama... my mom's health has been up and down.. we are at a low point right now. The whole family as been passing around the same cold/flu since before Thanksgiving so I'm NOT happy about that... but we are still hanging in there and "keepin' da faith" emoticon I'm determined not to let the stress make me turn to food for comfort and DH and I have made the best of our forced "semi-retirement" (bless his heart that's what he calls it) by staying fit and enjoying each others company 24/7 emoticon not always easy emoticon

emoticon and I love all of YOU too so let's emoticon and spread the spark ladies or better yet... BRING IT.... 2014 emoticon
