Can't believe we are almost ready to change our title, once again, to "Bring It...2013" My-oh-my, where has this year gone!?!
I still love our small and mighty team...I guess we could throw in "quiet" as another word to describe us this past year, too. I know what you mean about missing the "life" updates from one another. But, on the other hand, it kind of goes to show that most of us are spending our time living in the "real" world as opposed to the cyber world....and that's ok, too.
Like you said not too long ago, we are all in different places in our journeys on here, and sometimes we need to be on here more than at other times. Either way, it is good to know we are here, standing by, when those challenging times come along.
I personally have worked on making peace with myself this past year--ridding my mind of a negative, distorted body image and horrible negative self-talk that I have plagued myself with for years. Perhaps the clarity has come with age (I am SO looking forward to turning 40 next year!). Or, perhaps it's learning about everyone else's journey that has brought me to this great mental place. Either way, its great to finally look in the mirror or at a recent photo of myself, and say, "I really like what I see!" I really don't recall doing that very much...like ever! The focus was always on the negative...the things I didn't like. You know how we women are so quick to point out our own flaws? I was that x 1000. And to be extremely honest, sometimes being on here too much puts me back to that negative place. When I read too, too much negativity on here (not this team, but the website in general) it brings me back down to that distorted place. I don;t know about you, but I've read many negative self-talk blogs! So, for that reason, I have to keep myself in check in regards to how much time I am on here...check in-check out. As much as I LOVE to cheer everyone on in their own journeys, I have to look out for A-#1, too. Gosh, I hope that makes sense!?!
Perhaps my New Years resolution (and maybe ya'all will join me on this one) will be to vow to check-in at least 1x every two weeks on our team board. What do you say? I think that is a manageable commitment. So...
