Celia I keep forgetting to ask what Pick 3 is.

It was a lot of work cleaning out the house, however, I have little money but lots of energy! I do like to make things look better too so in a way it is a win-win.

I called the charity today and they said they wash all the clothes they get before putting them up for sale. So, I plan to put them in sacks if they look useable and take them to charity.

Today we did very little. I went to pick up a quilt I had machine quilted and I did dishes. We have worked so hard on the porch of that little house. We spent two days in very hot weather so we took the day off.

Tomorrow we go to deal with State taxes, do laundry and go to a doctor appt. This weekend I go to Texas for a baby shower.

Happy organizing all.

Wow, Diana, $2000?! It would have cost that much to hire the Got Junk? guys to clean out the hoarded mess you described.

Yesterday I worked through my Pick 3 and focused on Flylady De-clutter Games Days 3 and 4 as I try to catch up. I also paid bills and cleaned out the bill basket of extraneous material that gets dumped there.

Celia....funny girl you got a lot done.

We bought the worst house on the block for $2000! Today we put on half a wrap around porch so the city would not demolish it. It is a 100 year old home. Small and cute. We have wanted it for years but the owner wouldn't sell until the city threatened to tear it down. We are fixing the porch before the council meeting next week. So, tomorrow will be another long day.

The past two days I have spent cleaning out the house. The people were your basic hoarders. There was trash and clothes waist high in a couple of rooms. I have it almost cleaned. We helped them move some things to their home. It will be a good investment but a lot of work.

Cleaned kitchen and am making my lists for organizing soon.

And your dinner last night sounds yummy!

Yesterday was extremely productive for me. Did laundry, got a lot of decluttering done (Flylady Declutter Games Days 1 and 2), ran my SP Summer Fun Run virtual race, did strength training, caught up on SP, collected recycling, changed out the hummingbird feeder solution, cleaned up the kitchen, and recorded minutes at our homeowners association annual meeting.

Today was a lazy day for me.
I did go to Yoga class this AM and went to an engraving shop to order a name tag I'm
suppose to wear when I do my volunteer ushering (I've put it off for over a year!!)
So I'll pick it up tomorrow on my way to my ushering job (sheesh - that is cutting it close
isn't it????)
I put the trash bins out and got all my recycle stuff into the correct bin for the pick-up tomorrow.
That is about it.....

Organized some toiletries and books on bookshelf, cleaned kitchen after doing the dishes. Next I am going to the school to see if I can find a dictionary made before 1950, not sure why, but our instructor has asked us to bring one to the class we are taking this week. Have a great evening.

Celia sounds like you do have travelling down. My DH likes to carry everything on so he doesn't have to wait. I prefer to check it. Oh well. I just make him carry it all!

Today we spent 4 hours in the yard. Had to do it very early because of the heat. Luckily the sun was on the other side of the house most of the time. I cut it off at 11:30 and took a shower. Then I went to a town half hour away and went to the quilt store, had the oil changed and picked up some nails for the new porch we are starting tomorrow.

Tonight's dinner was halibut, corn and scalloped potatoes. It was good and easy.

Hope you all have a good night.

got my meds and vitamins set up for the next week. (and I actually managed to take everything last week for a change)

I use one of those weekly/daily divider things to track what I'm supposed to be taking, since I don't take the same thing every day. and some weeks it takes me three days before I set it up for the week.

Wow, you've all been so busy, while I was off on a trip, where the most I had to do was neaten up the hotel room and make sure the trash was out of the car or the seat pocket on the plane (hate traveling in trashed-out conveyances).

Thanks, Diana, I travel a lot, too, so I have a system down and keep a toiletry travel kit packed. My one error recently is that I took a short overnight trip and just took a carry-on bag instead of checking a bag (my preference so I don't have to deal with it). When I returned, I forgot to switch the plastic baggie back to my regular travel kit, so the next trip...oops! No probs this time.

Well, back at it. Took one more day off to recover and not have to face traffic. Laundry is going, and I saved my Flylady declutter games e-mails, so I'll start going through those.

TRAVELBUG Iím jealous. I would love to have seen the quilt show. I keep meaning to go to the one in Houston but havenít yet. Hope you had fun. It was 107 here today. At 10 pm it was still 96!

Linda good job getting your carpet done. Thatís one we donít often do.

Knuckles we all want to come to your patio!

I bought three new pillows and threw away three. Bought them at Tuesday Morning and Sams. Ours were getting so old. Today I moved a bookshelf and combined two smaller shelving units. Then I cleaned out two drawers in the kitchen and three cabinets and found about 20 boxes of jello! LOL I guess we will be eating jello a lot for a while. Then I put a bigger cabinet in my kitchen to hold all my canned goods which are all over the kitchen due to remodeling. I finally found a product to clean my kitchen sink which is ancient. It foams up and turns blue and my sink is finally white again! I also finished a baby quilt. Yesterday I spent 7 hours cleaning out a house we bought!

I have a lot planned for tomorrow too!

OK - my laundry is all done. All put away
I did some sewing/quilting repair work that has been hanging over my head.
The sewing room is picked up and I even cleared all the papers off the kitchen counter
that seem to accumulate out of no where (I wonder how that happens?????)

It is a humid muggy day here and so I'm glad to stay indoors with all the windows open
for a nice breeze.
Cheers !!

Knuckles and then invite us to join you on the patio with the wine!

Actually I just got rid of an old patio set. I gave it to a college student who had just moved into a house. He thought it was AWESOME.

We can do this....together.

I didn't do anything today. I spent the whole day at a big International Quilt Show in Long Beach, CA. I went with friends and we had a great time.
I bought a few small items (fabric and a new ruler)
Tomorrow I need to straighten stuff up and get moving on organizing more.

I washed clothes. sorted some things, and went grocery shopping, put items away and getting ready to crash. I spent over 2 hours on hold today. I bought a Net Talk Duo. It's a device that you use with your internet and do not have to pay anything for phone calls. I couldn't get my address recorded for 911. I even tried to take care of this over the internet, but to no avail. Still no answers. Hopefully they will email soon, I don't plan on holding that long again. Ugh.

Hi all

Today I was up at 5 am to take DH to a colonoscopy. Then shopped for items for new porch. Went to the insurance company. Put money on our gas card for the month. I will work on putting together shelves tonight and sew on a baby quilt.

I am new to this team and trying to go room by room. Today I started small. The laundry room. I found 10 years of phone books on the shelf in a cupboard. Off to the recycling bin they go! What I learned is, I need to open those cupboards more often and With everything that went away, I now have room for my collection of cookbooks. I guess I'll start the kitchen nook tomorrow.

Have an incredible day everyone.

Today, I organized most of my paper work on from my desk and dresser. MY plan is to eliminate the basket & the file holder next to my desk and have that cleared for photos.

REE - I love those velvet hangers and clothes sure stay on them well.
The local 99cent store here sells them and I need to pick some up. I have
clothes that constantly slide off the hangers.

I'm still shuffling thru papers - they seem to multiply every time I turn my head away.....
sheesh

Most of the house and yard are picked up today - I still need to empty the dishwasher..

Just bought some velvet covered non slip cost hangers, I had a great time getting rid of all plastic cost hangers. So far I have retained wooden or padded hangers but my ideal is to have all velvet covered hangers. The plastic ones won't be waster. The local laundry, ironing service wants them, so I m recycling as well as replacing. Irene

TEACHER I hope your IBS feels better. I get it occasionally so I know how you feel.

STITCHINGRAN it will be challenging to do something with those cross stitch stuff. If they are small you could make a pillow or ornament? I guess it depends on what they sent. I have some cat pillows someone made out of old quilts. Have fun.

TAZ I bet your pets felt relieved to get a bath since it has been so hot. Four dogs is a real chore. I bet you needed a bath after that!

Celia when I left the country to work in Kazakhstan I always worried about leaving something. Before I left I made sure the most important things were packed like passport, tickets, medicine and makeup. Anything else I figured I could buy or do without. We travel so much I have made a master list of items I need while travelling so I rarely forget anything. Maybe something like that could help you if you travel often. Anyway, I hope you have a great trip.

Today I take laundry to the Laundromat, cut out a quilt, finish a baby quilt, do dishes, make the bed and make some phone calls. That may be all I get done. But, that is something anyway.

Thanks, Diana! ND, hope you feel better soon!

Was very organized last night and managed to get packed in no time, so this morning all I had to do was shower, do my hair, make sure the cat was fed and watered until the sitter can get there, grab my bags and head out the door. Still wondering when I'll find I've forgotten something crucial ;-)

Diana, yes an odds and ends box is a useful place but it can't just become a dumping ground, or can it?.
Just as I thought I had sorted all my stitching stache out I receive a parcel of cross stitched pieces of work . Donated by a friend who is down sizing. They are to make something from thm to sell at a charity stall. Note make something of them! Who? Me! I put them aside but shall have to start looking at them to see if anything saleable can be produced. I have doubts about some of it. Watch this space for further news on it. Irene phew!, emoticon

Welcome Linda. I love a clean bathroom but hating cleaning them!

TRAVELBUG sounds like you got a good workout at the mall. I love ĺ sleeves. Sounds like you got a lot done on your travel. Donít worry about the 25 pounds youíll walk it off in Rome! Everything is uphill! Thanks for the comments on my quilts. I have found something I love to do. I do give some to charity and give several to family members. Iím glad we have two houses. I have more room for my quilts. We are doing a class now Lazy and Loving It. It is well worth the money for the book and ruler.

TEACHER baby steps get us all walking. Your sonís birthday present was most important anyway.

SUCCESS there is always something to do whether you start over or not! Iíve slacked this month a little myself.

Irene I would be afraid everything would end up in my Odds and Ends box! LOL

TALLGIRL that is great. A yard sale gets rid of stuff and puts money in your pocket.

Celia itís good you put your exercise first. I hope your headache is gone.

KNUCKLES I did my jewelry box about a year ago and put things in a ďgoldĒ bag that I no longer was interested in. I got about $100 for it at the place they buy gold. It took forever but it was money in my pocket. I found some little paper s that make half square triangles a breeze.

TAZ perfect balance to me! I used to do that where I would do something for the house, something for me and something in the yard every day. You get a lot done that way.
I was in a quilt class all day. I helped DH go to the dump, made dinner and will do dishes.

About it for the day. Tomorrow will be a work day.

Just taking baby steps but I'm making a dent in getting things organized. Made Poor Man's Soup for my son and ordered his birthday present today.

Got all my bills paid, went and got my Shingles Vaccine (I've been putting that off for a couple of years.)
I cleaned up the kitchen and the dishwasher is running now.
I also got on the internet with my travel friends and we made our last reservations for trains we need to get some places around Italy next month. I think we are now all set - except for losing 25 lbs. and packing!!! ha ha

I'm getting ready for my yoga class too.

Walk the dogs early. Took my neighbor and her dog to the park with the little ones. She sat and talk to some kids while I walked the dogs. Then I ran some errands and took my little ones to visit my 98 year old friend in the care center.
This took until noon. I logged my food and exercise. Read articles. THEN I started laundry. AND i vacuum the front room. Not great just touch up. And I VACCUMNed the stairs. Have not done that in months. Major step for me. Gathered up garbage. I did something for myself, for others, and for my household. May not seem like much to you. It is a major step for me!

Never give up.

I sorted out my jewelry boxes. Now I just need to figure out which one I'm going to keep and how I want to display my necklaces and beads so I will wear them more.

All the so called "secrets of success"will not work ... unless you do.

In the office today, and with yoga tonight, there will be no time to do more than clean up the kitchen.

I'm planning a huge yard-sale this fall. So, I've put at least one thing in the yard-sale pile every day. Hopefully will be increasing that soon!

Office/ hobbies room is still my July target, a wall to wall shelving is taking time. I sorted 2 small boxes out today and put labeled in even if one does say Odds and Ends!

Changing my life one day at a time from the inside out. Remembering the basics, to set goals, plan, implement, then revise. The journey will be hard and easy but remember to HAVE FUN!!!

Hi Linda - glad you joined our group.

Today I didn't do much - but it was very hot and sticky.
I wanted to get some exercise - so I went to an indoor mall and walked
4 miles!!!
I even found some knit t-shirts that I had been looking for with 3/4 sleeves - WAHOO!!!!

Time for bed now.

Hi Everyone. I'm new to the team. Tonight I cleaned the bathtub, toilet, and sink. Also threw the bath mat and shower curtain in the washing machine for a good bleaching. There's nothing like a clean smelling bathroom. emoticon

Hope, Faith and Dream.

I love to see all you ladies have done!

I worked with DH on the remodel until 2 pm . It was way too hot but I couldn't get him to stop. I kept pushing water and bringing him wet rags for his little bald head. He just had to finish that window! I also worked on my sewing room for an hour before going to the house. DH had put together my shelves and I was stocking them.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend all.

Blessing, Taz, on the loss of your mom.

Yesterday was a pampering day for me, followed by a meeting that didn't happen, because I was the only one to show up on the announced day...which was the wrong day. The meeting is today, but I am not going to waste another few hours of my precious time to endure stressful, grueling traffic and gobble up more gas.

Today, I cleaned out one rack of my closet, so I have one to go, and that's about half filled with old Air Force uniform items that I should just get rid of. I'm not going to get called back to active duty, and even if I did, all the uniforms are too big. Perhaps Civil Air Patrol can use some of the items for cadets. I also scrubbed all the toilets, have laundry about half done, did a complete change of the litter boxes, and decluttered a hot spot...so far...much left on the to-do list. Oh, and I had a strength training session with my trainer.

I'm going to work on my craft room/office. I've got to file some papers, and organize some of my craft supplies.

Yesterday I made a start on organising my hobbies stuff. It's not just one hobby. Oh no I have 4 interests all involving books papers equipment. I tackled one area of a wall of shelves by sorting and separating one portion. Putting books in order starting with my costume research and talks interest. I do talks occasionally on historical costume, I have seperate files for each talk, they are now labelled clearly and together along with the books on that topic. It's encouraging me to move to section 2 next. Irene emoticon
