Love the title of this post and the creativity to write about your victory!
I, too, tackled the closets this summer. With a major bed and bathroom remodel, absolutely everything in the bedrooms closets (three), the three beds, and four dressers had to be removed so that the rooms were empty. We moved a door, enclosed a small porch to make a walk-in closet, covered old, ugly ceiling tiles with sheet rock, replaced the old, worn out and broken carpet, wall paper, toilet, shower, faucet, sink, vanity cabinet and lighting. The entire spaces are totally transformed.
But I still had boxes of clothes, many of which I had not worn in many years! While it all came out, it is not all going back in. Most is already sorted with many boxes already gone to the Thrift and Consignment Stores. As a side note, I got $150 at the consignment store last year, and that much so far this year.
I have more sorting to go as I return items to their old and new places. The question becomes how many turtlenecks do I need? I counted 60, but sometimes I wear three at once when it gets really cold. How about swim suits? I love to swim, but have not done it in a year! Sandals? Shoes? Socks? Scarves? Keep the best, toss the rest. Some of all of it has to go.
Best to you organizers.
