Good morning. I woke to the rain. So, my plan to finish the side yard is out. Probably God's way of giving me a break!

I will find something to do inside today. Probably finish up the sewing room and dishes. Need to box a couple more things today. Do some vacuuming. Maybe I'll quilt. I haven't done any quilting since I returned home. I've only been binding things. I need to build up my baby quilts for gifts. Oh and my MASSAGE is for 1 pm. That I won't miss. Looking forward to it.

Oh I just realized I had the car detailed yesterday and it's raining!

DH has only been gone 2 weeks this time. He doesn't have much internet this time so I have only heard from him 3 times when he called. He doesn't like this campaign.

I remember all the hours I spent on wallpaper. I have many more to go once we clear the boxes out of the dining room. Ugh...that will be at least a year from now thank goodness.

Off to make breakfast.

Sounds as if you were very productive today. When will DH return home? How long has he been away?

Today it was very warm, 95 degrees, which is HOT for Ohio. I embroideried in the morning after Mass, took a nap and scraped the wall for about 4 hours this afternoon. just one more small spot to get on this wall. The others will be much easier.

Have a great day tomorrow!

Seems to me like you get a lot done!

Today I took the car to get it detailed. It looks good. It should it cost too much! I parked it at our other house so the tree sap from my five pecan trees won't get it raunchy before DH can see it at least.

I went to a Main Street meeting and got sucked into organizing the appreciation luncheon for 200 in Oct!

I worked 2 more hours in the yard. It looks so much better but I'm running out of time to get the yard done before DH gets home. I may hire someone to pick up the many piles of stuff I raked up. I'm getting pretty sore. I still need to go mow or other yard.

I found a box for the drum we bought in Kazakhstan. I want to protect it until we can hang it. I packed a Christmas box. I also took out a storage item from my sewing room that wasn't working. I decided I would buy a second set of shelves for books in my sewing room. I just have so many plus the magazines I keep. I only keep quilting magazines that I use for the patterns and my Victoria magazine I really love and DO look back at. I've weeded out the other magazines I used to keep. But, the sewing room is where my stuff is going to live so I want it to not clutter the rest of the house and I want it to look good.

I bagged the batting that I have left over from other projects if they are large pieced I can use on a baby quilt or tablerunner.

I also took two quilts to have them quilted. I only make the tops. That's fun. The quilting is not fun to me. I like the creative part of designing and making the tops.

Tomorrow I get my first back massage. Looking forward to it.

My late hubby used to work rings around me, lol! I worked hard today but it didn't seem like I got as much done as I wanted.

Did two loads of laundry, deadheaded planters and weeded border around goldfish pond. Spent two hours on ladder scraping a wall that is a MESS under the paint. (Which was bubbling off the wall in places.) This is my first solo interior paint job. Folded a load of laundry, took the second off the line, addressed two greeting cards and weeded a flowerbed that I hadn't touched yet this year for 30 mins. Not exercising today, lol!

Hoping to get that wall scraped tomorrow and start spackling it. It has some major problems.

Enjoy your massage!

You are so familiar to me! LOL You get a lot done. I laugh cause if my husband gets one thing done he is so proud! He takes retirement seriously. I do more in a lunch hour than he does sometimes in a day. However, once he gets going he wears me out! I am a morning person and do the worst first. He drinks a pot of coffee and start working in the afternoon. By then I'm already half done with my day. So, when I work with him I get really tired cause we work later in the day and then I have dinner to make! So, I've gotten to where I make a crock pot dinner if we are working on houses together. That way when we get home and showered dinner is ready! Self survival! LOL

But, with him gone right now I get uninterrupted time to do.

Yesterday I spent my day working on the back yard. I did 2 hours Sat, 2 hours Sun and 4 hours yesterday. I'm having a hard time bending today! I have a doctor to check on why I am having hair loss. A little nervous about that. I will do little things today to give myself a break before I tackle the front flower beds!

I did schedule my massage for Thursday. Haven't been able to get the car done but I will!

Have a great Tuesday.

Enjoy that massage and the clean car!

I exercised at YMCA, grocery shopped, took two shelves off the wall, wrapped up curios for safe keeping during redo, and packed up a huge box of stuff to donate to Good Will. Entered everything on a spread sheet for tax deduction. Now it is almost time for bed.

Have a marvelous Monday!

Good for you making Spark recipes. They must be good ones for you to give them away!

Iím a busy person. Sometimes too busy. I donít know how to relax. Today I spent two hours in the yard. I spent two yesterday as well so Iím pretty sore. I am concentrating on the backyard. The patio is full of weeds and so are the roses. We have been gone so long all we have done since getting home is mow. It looks much better already. When I went out today I could tell a big difference. Iíll try to go out and work on it at least an hour a day until it is done.

I also worked on my sewing room. As you can tell it is a BIG job. Iím organizing all my fabrics by color and all my patterns. I also have all my other craft supplies in there so it is a juggling act to make a home for all of it. Iím trying to give away some items I have several of. I am going to give some fabric to a quilter that is just starting out. Some of the fabric I have had for years and keep choosing other fabrics. So Iíll get two for one if I give it away. A friend gets help and I make more room.

Itís funny how nice things can look when things are in their place. My ultimate goal!
I finished packing three boxes today.

Tomorrow I have to call the doctor for an appointment. I also want to get a massage and get my car detailed. I never do those two things and I feel the need to treat myself.

It is nice you had lunch with your mom. My mom is 81 and lives in New Orleans so I donít see her as much as I would like. I do try to go every 3-4 months. Have a great week.

Took yesterday "off." Picked up my 83 year old Mom and took her out to lunch and shopping. Was nice to get away.

Today I'm baking bread, making coleslaw, blueberry muffins and making oregano chicken from the sparkpeople recipes. I'll be giving the muffins, cole slaw and bread away along with part of the chicken.

I unclogged the kitchen sink and put away some things. My plan is to pick up around here and get organized for working on the walls. I won't actually start that until tomorrow or Monday. Need to get some bills paid too while I'm at it, lol!

Sounds like you are too busy for a "job," lol! Hope you are enjoying life.

I'm supposed to be retired but work very hard for retired! LOL

DH and I work overseas in Kazakhstan occasionally. But we are remodeling three homes. The 100 year old home is difficult because every time we tear out something we find a bigger mess or have to repair something else. So, we have a little second house that is one floor and we are totally remodeling it. We want to live in it while we fix our big house. We will keep it for our old age when we can't get up the stairs any more. The third house will be for a rental.

So, we always have something to do. I would love to get the little house done. It is difficult to rest when something around you always needs work.

I remember having to take up a room of carpet samples in the big house. A million staples. We sanded and varnished the floor and it is beautiful with all it's creeking!

I love an old home. Just wish we could move faster.

DH is overseas right now so I'm trying to work on things I can't get around to when he is home.

Today I did laundry, bought fabric for baby quilt gifts, dropped off two donation checks, went to the accountant and mailed a package. Wasn't much but took all day. Tonight I will browse magazines while I watch a DVD.

Enjoy your weekend.

Hi!

Sounds like you were quite productive on an "off" day! HOpe lunch was fun.

I repaired several wood carvings that had pieces off, did some embroidery, took part of the wall decor down in living room and weeded fenceline in the yard.

My home is probably 1930's era with a beautiful oak floor that had a carpet over it. The carpet in living room was removed some time back after a small fire. Didn't replace because I liked the floor. Getting the tack strips up has been a work in progress. (I'm widowed and if it is to be it is done by me.)

It felt like today was a "lazy" day for me too. I teach school, so don't think it is necessary for me to spend ALL day every day working.

Have a Fantastic Friday!

Hi!

Went to lunch with a friend today but managed a few errands on the way home.

Returned $150 in unused building supplies
Took my son his passport
Went grocery shopping
Bought fabric I needed
Bought magazine racks to help finish up the sewing room
Cleaned out the car AGAIN
Emailed my accountant
Copied photos so I could mail a package tomorrow

I am tired today so i think I'll take a nap. Then when I get up feeling renewed I'll be ready to go again. it is so hot in Ok or I would work in the yard. That is a job for morning hours.

You must be doing a wood floor or putting down new carpet. My house is 100 years old and we are remodeling two others so the work is never done. You wouldn't know we are retired!

Have a successful night.

You did a ton of work. Some of my jobs were just easy.

Looks like you ran rings around me!

Yesterday I dismantled the bookcase and carted the pieces away to a dumpster. Then I removed tack strips from another wall and took trash out.

Today I made a chocolate bread pudding for Mom, completed two more walls of tack strips, washed the floor and removed an edging strip from a doorway. In another room I spent an hour decluttering paperwork and started a new box for donations. The energy in the room is already so different without the bookcase and tackstrips.

I'm having dinner now and getting ready for choir practice. Keep up the good work. Bet you look breat with your nails done!

LQUEST I love to see what others are doing. It sparks me to do more myself. Looks like you had a successful day.

My DH is out of the country for two weeks. This is when I really get things done!
Yesterday I:

Shredded documents, cleaned out paperwork (five years worth of receipts DH hoards) cleaned on my sewing room, buying boxes to find a home under my bed for gift bags and wrapping paper. Made binding for a quilt. Did two rebates for $100 refund. Got three packages ready to mail today. Did three years of accounting for my quilt guild. Copied twelve months worth of projects for the guild. Did dishes. Took out lots of trash. Cleaned out the car. Did the bills. Reboxed seasonal items for July 4, St Patrickís Day and Easter. I love the holidays and tend to buy a few items yearly so I needed to get them all together so I can find them. Made a folder for Lowes, Home Depot etc so I can find receipts when I look for them.
Today I will get a perm, my nails done and work on my to do list. I hope to de-clutter the kitchen a little at a time. We are remodeling three houses so I need to get seldom used items boxed or give to Salvation Army. We have too much stuff and I am trying to keep only what I love or will use.

Have an organized day

Organized and decluttered 3 or 4 days of living in the living room and the kitchen. Then I started working on a bookcase that will be dismantled and removed from my living room. I got through three shelves. This evening I'll shred several journals and some papers. Then I'll log my donations into an excell spread sheet for tax purposes.

I hope to empty the cupboard at the bottom of the bookcase tomorrow and begin to dismantle it. I've been wanting to get rid of it for several years. It is a "junk" collector and needs to go. It will open up the living room and allow for better placement of the remaining furniture.

I'm in the process of redoing the room. This was the last major job before I begin prepping the walls for paint. I'll be venturing into the realm of baseboards and crown molding too.

Am looking forward to new colors and new energy in here. Have been antiquing and have an antique end table and a tole chandelier to add to the transformation.

I'm sure your MIL just figured she has both now, why throw out what worked;) I hauled garbage out, put together a little shelf, did dishes and set up a portable air conditioner I bought. My son put new locks on my doors so I made sure he had a decent lunch. Have to run. Talk to you later.

NDTEACHER that is interesting about your parents. My MIL is that way. She will not get rid of anything. She has every plastic flower or gift anyone ever gave her. She had a mess of Sam's Club plastic junk cake covers and stored things in them. So, DH and I bought a nice set of Rubbermaid containers for her to stack and use. She now has BOTH!

Today I had an eye appt. Did laundry, picked up a window at Lowes, made a deposit in the bank, cut three quilt bindings and spent time in my sewing room organizing. I think I got a lot done considering!

Have a great evening.

Diana maybe DH has an addiction to boxes;) My mom used to say I had a thing for boxes, but I blame my saving items on my mom and dad;) They grew up in the depression era and they could each find a use for everything, they were recycling before it was politically correct. The difference between them and me, especially my dad, he has a place for everything and knows exactly where it is. He is going to be 90 August 2nd and still works on small engines, ie lawnmowers, tillers, snowblowers for people in town. Someone said if you want a part, whether it be a plastic hose, washer, whatever Eddie has it and knows right where to find it. I blame my disorganization on my ADD, even though years ago, I wasn't this discombobulated. I blame this on menopause;0 See how it all comes full circle:)

Yesterday I organized winter and summer clothes, part of them anway, put away rest of groceries I hauled how Sunday night, put together a metal cart/hamper for the bathroom, and today I am posting on a few threads before I do research for an educational team I am on to find research based strategies and materials for our students who bring down our test scores. We want to target academic skills they are weak in. Better go, time's speeding by.

MSKEESH sounds like you got tons done!

NDTeacher when you get rid of boxes it can really make a difference. I have to constantly prod DH to get rid of boxes he "saves" for computer items. I don't know why he does it.

Today I am cleaning my sewing room. Installing boxes in my shelving unit. Sorting fabric and organizing. I think also DH and I will install two doors today.

Have a great day all

OH, and I also got rid of soooo much paper clutter in the home office. I organized all of my magazines, seperated my bills by month and threw away anything older than 2011, threw away unimportant receipts, sorted the kids school and art work, filed all the rest and really threw away lots of unneccesary clutter. Next step is to take a look at the paper bills I am filing to see if I can do e-bills and save what I need on a flash drive for accessibility. I will also look into what papers can be scanned in an effort to further reduce my paper load.

The kids and I tackled the backyard shed. I think there were more junk items to be thrown away than actual items that belonged in the shed. My boyfriend removed an old workbench that was in there hogging space which made room for everyone's bikes. I can easily access the lawn mower, ladders, wet vac, etc now before you had to dig to get anything and it was kind of dangerous for the kids removing and replacing their bikes. Next step is to repair areas of the shed which have holes allowing mice in, as well as an area on the roof that has begun to rot out a little.

Irene I hope you enjoy the celebration. I love things like that. I have a collection of bride dolls which include Kate, Diana and Fergie.

Today I had to drive back from Texas after a big surprise party for MIL. I did bring home 7 containers I have to put together for my sewing room tonight.

Tomorrow I hope to get more done.

I am going away soon for a few days so will chat to you again later. Have a great Sunday Its typical English holday weather here, rain. Wave a flag for our queen today 60 years celebration

Golflady I know what you mean. When I open a box that I havenít seen in a while it is like Christmas! I know they say that if you havenít missed it in a year you should get rid of it but there really are reasons ours are stored. We are renovating a 100 year old home so things are stored. I am trying to give up what I donít like any more or if I have several though.

Good for you Irene! I have been scheduling eyes, teeth, mammogram, colonoscopy etc. I was overseas for eight months so I had to get them done. It is important to put ourselves first!

TRAVELBUG I am the worst in my sewing room. Iím a messy seamstress. I clean up after but I make a big mess. If I run out of time it sits. I did buy 5 more boxes at IKEA yesterday that go in my shelves to corral my material!

KNUCKLES others somehow manage to add things to our ďto doĒ list donít they?

TONED sounds like you did a lot today!

ND sending out a prayer for your friend.

Celia hope you are enjoying your time off. I can sure make a mess of a hotel room by the way!

Today we gave MIL a surprise party for her birthday. Before the party I went to Hobby Lobby and framed two pictures that have been needing to be done for a very long time. I also gave DD some Nintendo games that we were not using any more to use or go in her garage sale. So, even though we had the party I managed to get something else done!

For the last day of May - I am planning to focus on getting my quilting stuff put away - it is spread all over the house (cutting mat on the kitchen counter, rulers on several spots around the house, bit of thread and fabric on the floor......)
I have my work cut out for me.

Here is to doing better in June.......

My daughter came to visit and helped me organize and pare down my bedroom closet. Now she is here again and we just weeded out the front coat closet. Hard parting with some of my old favourites!

Celia I donít miss working 9-5! I retired July 4, 2000! Have a great vacation!

ND good job on the desk area. That is one of those places that always seems to need cleaning.

Irene take it easy girl! Donít get too tired after having an injury. Hope you donít overdo.

TRAVELBUG Iím a quilter and I made binding all day yesterday. Today DH and I took a trailer of bags from one of our remodels to the dump. Then we picked up a trailer bed for his truck. When I returned I took back to returns to Walmart, wrapped some gifts and packed for a trip. I will be gone for the weekend but will get some ďto dosĒ done by buying boxes to organize my sewing room and a battery to fix my computer. Like you I always have a to do list!

Have a great weekend.

Sheesh - this month is almost over.......tomorrow is the 31st.

I didn't accomplish anything organizational wise that I had planned for the month.
But I did keep up on putting things away and not letting them pile up like I usually do.

Irene, hope you are back to 100% soon! Travelbug, that's an ambitious list you have!

I managed to get packed and tidy the downstairs before leaving for the airport. Had to turn around once to unplug the Keurig, but we're in the airport lounge now waiting to board.

I need to start again. I had 10 day enforced rest due to an ankle injury I could hobble round indoors so basics got done. Now I am walking better if not perfectly. So am trying to get back on track again.Saying I wil do a room or item at a time Had to change the bed sheet today so that led me to planning to tidy and dust whole bed room .But I needed a sit down and chat first!

Up a bit earlier this AM.
The bed linens are all changed, laundry is sorted......
Need to go to my quilting group to drop off 3 quilt tops I finished.

I'm going to focus on organization this week. I have to do lists in almost
every room.

Oh, my gosh I thought I was the only one who did things like make more work for myself by spilling things. I am a natural born Klutz, however. I haven't really gotten motivated yet, still checking my emails, but after I'm done I plan on brewing a pot of coffee, doing dishes, and gathering up loose ends. Have a great vacation!

Thanks, Diana!

Today I'm rushed at work due to artificial deadlines imposed because I have the nerve to take vacation. Unfortunately, in my rush this morning, I spilled coffee all over the signed original of an agreement. I salvaged the signature page with one minor coffee stain, but I have to add re-creation of the package to my growing list of MUST do's.

Celia hope you have a good vacation.

Today DH and I finished taking the quilt racks to the barn for the year. That was at 8 am so we were already in work mode.

We spent the next few hours taking my son's car to him that we had repaired. Then we purchased lumber brought it home and put it in the garage. We tore down old sheetrock that was in the garage and cleaned it up taking out nails etc.

It doesn't seem like a lot but we just got finished at 5pm and worked all day.

Tomorrow we go to Texas for a doctor appt. I will take a swimming pool I have at the house for children and a barbed wire Texas shape to my son. At least I am getting rid of two things!

Have a good evening

Sableness, good for you for unpacking and storing luggage so fast. Takes me a week sometimes

Diana, glad you can rest now that the quilt show is over.

I'm finishing the laundry today after another day of hiking. Also, getting things together for vacay.

Hi Knuckles! The kitchen is where I need to attack soon. Many old condiments live in my cabinets!

SABLENES good job on putting away your traveling gear so quickly!
Good job everyone on all you got done!

Today I got DH to help me with putting up our roll top desk and making a printer out of the old desk that I hated!

We also folded my quits and put them in the armoire.
I bought a new dish drainer and hamper since the others were a mess!
I cleaned up things I had dropped inside the door yesterday when I was so tired from the two days of our quilt show!

So, it was a good day for me!

I've traveled twice this month, and both times I unpacked and put my luggage away without procrastinating!

Hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day weekend (if you're in the States). I'm also not getting a great deal done, but it feels good to relax.
