thank you so much. I bought a dining table before, is it made of leather or vinyl - they said leather and it ended up being vinyl. they said no soft particle board, yeah, under the table it is. and they lied to me about it being veneer.

yeah, thanx so much for the advice. I so appreciate it.

I TOO VOTE FOR WOOD. PLASTIC AND VINYL DO NOT STAND UP TO ANYTHING HOT EITHER. THEY MELT.

(CAPS FOR VI MEMBERS)

I'D FIGURE OUT HOW MANY WOULD BE SITTING ON THE BENCH & MAKE A CUSHION FOR EACH. I'D MAKE THEM OUT OF WASHABLE STUFF SO YOU COULD JUST PITCH THEM IN THE WASHER. HOPE THIS HELPS! emoticon

okay, so wood it is. thanx. I have some benches that are cushioned and covered in vinyl, yeah, they didn't pass my kidz test at all. now I need some new ones soon so that my kidz (pica anyone?) don't start eating the cushions since theres so many holes in the vinyl.

thanx.

Vinyl will stick to your legs and make you sweat. I would vote for wood.

I was thinking of getting a breakfast nook or a picnic table. so now my ? for you is this: is vinyl very durable? will it tear very easily? what could I put on it to make it last?

also, would you prefer wood or metal? hard plastic?

would deeply appreciate the help. thanx.
