I agree with Flylady at flylady.net She has wonderful ideas. She does talk alot about how wonderful her tools are: Many of them are good, but you don't have to buy anything ini order to use the system. Just use what you have.

I also like what Karrie said, and I have found it to be true. One thing I learned early on was to fix my bed: it is a lrge piece in the room, and if it's messy the whole room looks messy. I also like a sold cover, as one with many patterns just makes the place look overcrowded, especially if there's plenty of clutter already.

For clothes, what I do with my children is ask them: Do you like it? Does it fit? Will you wear it?
If the answer to any of those three questions is no, I get rid of it, by passing it to the next child or by giving it away usually. I do the same thing with my husband and myself, giving me leeway for pregnancies, etc. This has helped keep the clothes down, which in turn keeps the laundry down.

You can do it - you Can succeed! And Welcome!

My suggestion is to Pick One Place to Start. Even if it's a Totally Cluttered Home, Just pick a Room.

Once You've done that, Pick a certain Section of that Room to De Clutter.

Then take 2 Boxes or 2 Plastic Bins & Write on a Piece of Paper, "Keep" (This Box/Bin is fer Stuff You couldn't live without.Meaning, You'd Die without it until your dying breath.) Then, on another piece of Paper Wrote Donations. (This is fer Stuff you don't really Need & can Live without it.It coulda been just a Phase you were through, A Fad,Etc.....)

Once you are done with that Pile or Section of the Room, Ask Yourself, "Are you ready for more? If so, Go to the Next Section & Continue on Sorting until you are done. If the Answer is No, Then Go Exercise or Find something to do, until your mind isn't so Overwhelmed.

Good Luck,

Karrie - Soon to be a Professional Organizer.

Hi,

I would suggest checking Flylady's website. She has lots of ideas for cleaning, organizing and peaceful living. I believe she will suggest keeping only what you use, truly love, etc. Here is the link. Please take a bit of time to explore the rest of her url. It has transformed my life!
