I'm the opposite. I'm a morning person. I've started tidying for 15 minutes after breakfast before I jump in the shower (often when I'm still cooling down from a workout).
My husband is a night owl and occasionally he starts whizzing around the house late in the evening tidying things (or grumbling about not being able to find things). I should be glad I have a tidy husband, but it drives me crazy because I'm trying to wind down and go to sleep, while he's opening and shutting doors and drawers and muttering away.

I often clean up the kitchen right before bedtime. It drives my husband crazy, but he's getting used to it... sometimes he goes to bed and closes the bedroom door so he doesn't hear the racket.
I don't want to spend time earlier in the evening cleaning up, because that's my time with my husband. Late at night he's gone to bed anyway, so I do it then.

I'm not a night-owl. I find I do best getting up early and starting. I work day and evening shift and often have a few days off during the week when no one is home. That's when I get my best work accomplished. The days when I work 7a-7p shift are a total bust and that's when my house "explodes" lol. I wish I had more energy on those days but I basically come home eat watch tv for an hour and go to bed.

I'm up at 4am . . . so by 6am I've already had a couple of cups of coffee and am ready to throw in a load of laundry . . . just don't want to wake up the whole house!

I can accomplish a lot more with Hubby out of the house too. It is better yet if he takes the dogs with him. I have to evenly space the chores out through the day to not get too fatigued. But, as a younger person, 6-8PM were prime times for cleaning.
Good to know I am not alone! I also have a husband that gets in the way when I clean that is why I clean when he is on night shift....much better. I am sure my routine will change when I have children but for now this routine is working well for me. And I still got up at 7:30am to go skiing....gotta love Mondays off.

I used to be. With an ex husband that worked nights and a job that didn't require me to be up early, it was the best time for me. Now the current husband not only frowns on it, but gets in my way. And with earlier shifts for work...I'm ready to go to bed when I get home, haha!

I am definitely a night owl, so I am much more productive in the evening/night. Unfortunately I do have to get up at about 6:30 to get ready for work and my husband is NOT a night person so I can't run the vacuum cleaner or do anything noisy.

You are definitely not alone in this. I find that I am more focused at night and therefore get a lot more accomplished than I would during the day. I've always been this way =)

I am an early riser. I usually work best first thing in the morning.

I have done this several times. It is very peaceful. But now I have to be out of bed by 4:00am for work so I try to stay in bed.

I used to be a night owl and get all my chores done at night, but now since I have to get up at 4am, it's not possible anymore..

Does anyone else clean/organize at night?
I have always found that the evening is the best time for me to do any task. I have so much more energy at night and I am more efficient. Case in point, it is now 1:20am and my house it totally clean and I organized my storage room and library (I started cleaning around 8pm). Now I can wake up to a sparkly clean and organized home.
Am I alone on this?
