Good morning!

I am planning on helping DD get her "apartment stuff" organized so that she can move to her very first college apartment. She's so excited, and we're so proud!

washed the inside of my refrigerator! sad to think I used to do this weekly! wow! used to like it. Still do but time consuming and always find other things to do. I always am cleaning it out (cluttered refrigerator drives me crazy)! And like to do every two days to reuse leftovers :)

Dusted and vacuumed out my car. Yesterday I took it through the carwash.

Scrubbed siding around the back door and back door window. Cleaned window over the sink - inside and out. I hate that window!! lol

Today, wiping the kitchen counter, I realized that it's time for the cookie jar to be re-purposed, since I no longer use it for cookies. It's cute and I want to keep it, and it doesn't have to stay in the kitchen. I'm open for suggestions as to other things I could store in it. Thanks!

it looks like a bomb exploded in this house. :)

its amazing how trashed a place can become when you have no extra time or energy to deal with it for 3 weeks. good news is my son is now home from the hospital and I will be able to start doing stuff around the house.

Today AMVETS are coming and that will clean up a bunch of stuff in the garage

I tried to change the water filter on my fridge - but could not get the old one off.....
but I did clean behind and under the fridge - got rid of tons of dust and dirt.
I wonder how many years since I've done that????? too many......
But now when my handyman comes to install the filter - I won't be embarrassed by all the
dust and dirt.

This week I cleaned and organized our main bathroom. Super came and fixed the ceiling and painted it. I had to empty the room, so I figured this would be a perfect time to do my "Spring" cleaning.

It took me about two hours yesterday to clean and organize the top of my desk at work and under it. The day before, I had spent another two hours cleaning up the shelves that I keep next to my desk. Next on the agenda will be cleaning the drawers in my desk, the drawers under my desk (portable drawers unit), then the filing cabinet behind my desk, the cabinets in my classroom, and the cabinets in the conference room (yes, I am keeping my stuff in there too; hopefully I will be able to clean up and organize enough so that my things won't need to be spread out into the conference room cabinets any more).

I had to stay close to home today because I was on call for work, so I figured that I'd make it a productive day. I tackled 3 kitchen cabinets (the lazy Susan, a dry food cupboard and the cupboard over the stove) and the linen closet. It felt good to get so much done today.

I started the month by doing some more yard de-cluttering. I trimmed more shrubs,
I took my outdoor vac and did my whole front porch. Then got a broom and got all the
cobwebs off the eaves.
Hosed everything down and I must say the entry way to my house looks very nice.
I just got a new bright white front porch light and white security door to match the white
trim on my house.
I'm motivated to keep the front of the house clean and welcoming.....
YAHOO!!!!

I see that back in October - someone was going to have a monthly thread on what we "cleaned and organized" - so the thread would not be so long.
BUT
I did not see one opened for November, December, nor January.
I guess we all get busy and I think that is what happened.
------------------
I always like to read what folks have "cleaned and organized" - it motivates me.

PS - I didn't clean or organize anything today. I did have big plans to do so, but
never got it in gear. I did go to Home Depot and bought a huge bag of potting soil
and will do some major re-potting and organizing tomorrow.

Since yesterday, I have vacuumed the entire house (old shedding dog makes this really important), cleaned the upstairs bathroom and tidied the kitchen.

Yesterday worked on kitchen and home office. Have kept kitchen and bedroom spotless this week. Enabled me to be able to cook 3 new dishes this week/weekend. Cleaning up the old creates new energy.

Also managing the weight and eating as close to perfect as I know how. Cleaning up the old weight and poor choices creates new energy to move forward towards a happier, healthier life every day. Not waiting anymore to do these things. I'm doing these things now, every day, and with every healthy choice I make.

Have a great week!

I cleaned out my baking drawer and cleaned up all the spilled flour. emoticon Then I went and cleaned out the bathroom drawer. I got rid of a million little body lotion thingies and organized everything into makeup; dental stuff etc; sure looks a lot better. Amazing how that makes you feel - like you might actually be able to find something! emoticon

I clean the main bathroom - I did all my ironing, it had been piling up. I hemmed 3 prs of pants, I dismantled my miniature dollhouse and return the major parts (floor and outside walls) as they are defective - it's a same because I had already papered the walls, installed the moldings and put the floors down. But at least this way I won't get so frustrated when I get a house where the pieces fit together. After that I made supper (also made breakfast & lunch and right now I am catching up with my friends at SP. It was a very productive day and I pat myself on the back. emoticon

I'm back from a 4 day quilting retreat. I totally over did it with the eating.
But I did maintain an organized condo where we were staying . Didn't want to have too much to clean up on the last day.
A dear friend donates 2 condos to my group each fall and we were right on the beach with a view of the ocean, the sand, the boardwalk......it was wonderful.
Plus - I also got a lot of sewing done.

-------------------
keeping the units organized really helped with the clean up at the end.

This morning I started my day talking over with my husband what we wanted to accomplish. He had yard work to do, and I wanted to get some stuff done in the house. I went through some more books, filled two boxes. Had one more box of odds and ends to give away.

I also cleaned the kitchen up/ ran a disposal care thing in the disposal, washed the dishes, and cleaned the sink the best I could. Decided I needed to get stainless steel cleaner to make it shine.
We discussed the painting of our sons room, and when we finished the morning activities, and lunch we stopped by Good Will and dropped off the donations and books, went to Home Depot to get some things for repairs in the house he decided he needed to do ( emoticon ) and to get supplies, and paint for the room.

He is now caulking around the vents for the air and heat, which the air conditioner guys have told us needs to be done to prevent dust from coming into the house from the attic and air escaping into the attic. And which we were told they would charge us $25 per vent.So he is saving us money as well.

I am so glad that we have gotten into organizing, and he is do repairs around the house.

My linen closet - my husband had 'lost' pillowcases in the tablecloth section. my tea towel drawer; I pruned two drawers into one drawer: now I have an empty drawer - not sure what to put in it; I'm thinking on it.

working in the yard today with a friend. need to do some re-arranging of furniture and stuff. Our latest foster dog will NOT leave our pet rats cage alone, so I am going to see if putting it on something higher will help.

kitchen is disaster area AGAIN. why is it so hard to keep up with it?

I am trying to organize my office. So much stuff gets put in this room that I don't even know where to start. I finally figures out that I clear one section at a time. Trying to throw away items I do not need or have space for but it is difficult.
Have a good day everyone.

Working on laundry, decided to do smaller loads and have less to fold, so get it put away quicker.
More books.
Okay I have a table just inside the garage in our lower level that my husband complained I just dump stuff on. He is right. Canned goods from Sams, stuff left from VBS, etc. So, I went through a whole bunch of that, opened all the Sams packages and put them on the food shelves we have down there, put cardboard in the recycle bin, and almost have it cleaned off. Won't he be surprised when he comes home tonight!!!!!

Spent several hours going through old paper work. Threw away some, put some in filling cabinet, kept some and shredded the rest.

Life is good. emoticon

The doggies have gone home and now I'm cleaning house and trying to get ready for my quilting retreat this weekend.
Hope to have things picked up and in pretty good shape by the time I got to bed tonight.
Wish me luck.....
---------------------------
vacuumed the entire house and did some carpet spot cleaning with FOLEX.
I now need to take by vacuum into the repair shop.
It is stopped up with hair around the roller.
Oh well, it will have to wait until I get back .

Managed to get all those items which require you to 'wash by hand' done and hung in the laundry room.

I am stupidly busy at the moment, with deadline after deadline at work and meeting after meeting every weeknight for my extracurricular activities.

But I have managed, at least, to make my bed every day!!

And keep up my exercise.

And not actually drop any balls, yet, although I'm cutting it close to every single deadline.

I'm trying to stop the dishwashing building up - it really only takes one skipped day. It's just that I get home at like 11pm and prioritise sleep over dishes.
